Chapter 72 The End Of The Raid (Part 2)
Blast!
At the same time, an arrow pierced the boss' eyes, and the chieftain stepped back, staggering.
"Sword of Misery!"
Jake took this opportunity to attack the goblin, and immediately dealt a critical hit.
[Critical Hit! -12845 HP]
He stepped back and beckoned Kierch to fall back as well.
"What are you doing? We have to keep attacking it! It also can regenerate a little of its health!" Kierch shouted back.
"I used one of my big attacks. I need to wait for it to finish its cool down. We can't afford to let the goblin chieftain lose its first health bar without having even a single of our attacks still on cool down. All of them should be ready." Jake shook his head.
His attack was strong enough for the goblin chieftain to stop for a moment. It would take more than three minutes to recover all of that HP. And it wasn't like Jake wanted to stop attacking the boss altogether.
He just wanted to stop attacking it continuously, and maintain its HP at a proper level.
Kierch nodded reluctantly, and he retreated to Jake's side.
"What's the plan then? What do we do after all of our attacks have finished their cool down?" Kierch asked.
"We will finish it off in one nice blow. You forget that we have an entire guild behind us, don't you?" Jake smiled.
"Hold the goblin chieftain, and make sure it doesn't strike me." Jake said as he turned around to look at all of the guild members who were just staring at the final fight, hoping that it would turn out well.
"Every single archer and mage, get your biggest attacks on stand by, but do NOT use them. When I command you to, use your normal attacks that do not have any cool down. Once the first health bar falls to zero, all of you must use your big attacks at once." Jake shouted.
"And tanks don't need to protect the mages and archers this time. It is just a single opponent that has its aggro on the three of us." Jake said.
He then faced the monster in front of him. Looking at his cool down timer, there was still two minutes and thirty seconds left. He had to pass the time.
Jumping up, he looked down at the purple circle that appeared where he stood before. If he was still there, the attack would have taken out half his health.
Kierch had also moved, just demonstrating his exceptional reflexes. There was a reason that Kierch was so famous in Jake's previous life. He was so talented, and even without the support of a big guild and corporations, he became one of the most powerful rankers of the world.
And Jake had no doubt that Kierch would do the same thing this time as well. And if Kierch showed his loyalty, then Jake would definitely not hesitate to invest more into this shining star.
The time passed.
It was a short while, and the trio was able to easily take care of the goblin chieftain and put him in check, while the guild members watched.
But finally, Jake felt a slight tremor in his skills panel.
The skill's cool down was done.
"Myriad Arrows! Are your skills ready?" he shouted at the distant Myriad Arrows, who was shooting normal arrows towards an angry boss.
"Yup. All of them! Whenever you are ready, so am I!" Myriad Arrows nodded.
"I'll tell you when to attack. But don't waste them now. Kierch, what about you? Ready?" he asked.
"Ready." Kierch also nodded.
Jake raised his sword and nodded toward the guild members.
"Everyone! Use your normal attacks, now! Kierch, maintain your distance. You don't want to get caught up in the cross fire." Jake said.
The moment he said this, fire balls, gusts of wind, water bursts, arrows, pellets, all sorts of attacks came rushing towards the Goblin Chieftain.
Every single one of them did a small amount of damage each, but together, they were simply not the same. All of these attacks aggregated to create a terrifying whole.
The goblin chieftain roared with pain, and the HP bar slid down to zero at a visible pace, and then, the bar disappeared, leaving only the one below.
"Careful!" Jake said as he retreated a few steps.
The Goblin Chieftain started staggering, as if it lost its ability to walk. Its back started wiggling, and its staff fell on the ground.
Holding its face with its hands, it roared with pain again and again, and it was a terrifying thing to observe. But no one could attack. They were frozen in place.
[Paralysis. Cannot move for ten seconds]
The Goblin Chieftain wasn't attacking them though. It appeared to be going through some metamorphosis.
When it released its hands, its face was no longer the same. The wrinkly green face was gone, and replacing it was a red face of an Oni. Horns protruded from its head, and it looked at Jake with its eyes of anger and pain.
Jake was the one who caused it the most damage, and was the biggest reason for its pain.
It lunged at Jake.
p
"Reflect!"
Jake's armor shone, and the Oni's swipe was immediately reflected back to itself.
[Critical Hit! -20467 HP]
"Now! All of your attacks now!" Jake shouted as he also ran towards the Oni.
Everyone's weapons shone, and they were all pointed toward the Oni, their attacks dealing a great amount of damage.
Almost immediately, the yellow bar started sliding to the red zone, and that was when Jake arrived in front of it.
"Slash of Hunger!"
His sword came crashing down on the Oni's red face, and the moment it touched the Oni, red blood began to flow, contrast to the murky blood of before.
The HP bar slid to its final dregs, and then went to zero.
[Level Up!]
