'What?'

Lucas raised his brows as he looked at the phantom sparrow in front of him.

'Ding,

        Do you want to accept it as your pet?

While Lucas was still in shock with the earlier system notifications, the system once again asked him whether he wanted the Silent phantom as his pet.

'Hmm...yes.'

Lucas thought for a moment before nodding his head.

Even though killing the silent phantom might give him a good assassin skill, if he had it as his pet, then it could become a good helper for him.

'Screech'

As soon as Lucas nodded his head, the silent phantom screeched with great excitement.

'Swoosh'

At the same time, it instantly disappeared and appeared behind Lucas; however, this time, it didn't attack.

Instead, it landed on Lucas' shoulder with a proud look in its eyes.

'Huh? It became my pet without any contract?'

Lucas was surprised that there was no contract.

'Ding,

        Since the spirit beast has acknowledged you as its master, the chances of its betrayal is zero unless the host abuses the spirit beast.

'Oh. It is even better like this.'

Since Lucas was not a beast tamer, he could not form contracts with many spirit beasts. So, Lucas was satisfied with the current type of setting as he nodded his head.

          Do you want to check the Silent phantom's complete information?

'Yes.'

'Ding,

        Spirit beast name:- Silent Phantom.

        Strength:- low-level Rank 3

        Skills:- Phantom slash, Shadow jump, Dark heal.

        More information:- It is an assassin-type spirit beast that hunts only in the night and in the morning, it has no battle prowess. So, it uses a disguise to escape its predators.

'Oh. It was using 'shadow jump' to disappear from my sight all this time.'

After checking the skills of the Silent Phantom, Lucas understood how the Silent Phantom was able to disappear into the darkness.

'However, this spirit beast  is useless in the morning or areas with light as it will lose all its battle prowess.'

Even though Lucas said that he felt it was not a bad thing to make the Silent Phantom his pet.

'Phantom, do you know any places with rank 3 dark-type spirit beasts?'

Since Lucas only had 30 more minutes to sacrifice a second spirit beast for his assassin profession, he decided to take the help of the 'Silent Phantom'.

'Oh! So, you know.'

When Lucas saw the spirit beast nodding its head, he was a little excited as he asked, 'Take me there.'

'Screech'

Hearing its first order from its master, the Silent Phantom let out a low screech before flying into the sky.

'Good.'

Lucas silently followed the Silent Phantom hoping there was a good rank 3 dark-type spirit beast.

After five minutes, the Silent Phantom led Lucas to a hidden valley that was pretty much hidden by the small trees and bushes.

'Screech'

After reaching that hidden valley, the silent phantom pointed into the valley and let out low-screeches.

"Huh? Are you telling me there is a dark-type spirit beast in the valley?"

Only a few rank 3 spirit beasts could communicate in human speech like the white tiger and the silent phantom was still unable to transmit its thoughts to Lucas.

What's more, there was no contract between them. So, it was even harder to communicate.

Nevertheless, Lucas was able to guess what the Silent Phantom was trying to say.

'Let's see which spirit beast is residing in this hidden valley?'

With that thought in his mind, Lucas slowly looked into the hidden valley which was not so deep as it emitted an eerie aura.

In the valley, there were a few trees and below these trees, there were three rank 3 black wolf-like spirit beasts were sleeping.

'System, what are those spirit beasts?'

There was no information about those three spirit beasts in Lucas' memories. So, he asked the system about them.

'Ding,

        Spirit beast name:- Umbra wolf

        Strength:- Rank 3 (Low, mid and High-level).

        Other information will be available after either they were killed or tamed by the host.

'Umbra wolf? Looks like these spirit beasts are either rare or limited to the Barren firmament.'

Lucas silently muttered to himself as he continued, 'Anyway, I have to think of a way to assassinate them.'

Soon, Lucas started planning like usual on how to assassinate the Umbra wolves.

'Let's try this one.'

Even though Lucas' current age is only 18 years, he lived around 25 years in his previous life. So, he was 43 years old and had a good experience in assassinations. So, it didn't take much time for him to think of a plan.

"Phantom, can you bring them out to that corner of the valley?"

He asked the Silent Phantom who proudly nodded its head, making Lucas nod his head.

"Good. I will go there and wait for you to bring them to that place."

Soon, Lucas slowly left that place as he entered the hidden valley from the other corner and properly hid with the 'Invisibility' spell.

'Screech'

Seeing that its master has settled himself in his position, the Silent Phantom let out a loud screech as it flew into the hidden valley.

'Growl'

Seeing that Silent Phantom in their hidden valley, before the phantom could do anything special, the three Umbra wolves were provoked as they rushed towards the Silent Phantom.

'Huh? Looks like it is not Phantom's first time entering this valley and being chased by the umbra wolves.'

Looking at how skillfully the Silent Phantom was dodging the combined attacks of the three Umbra Wolves, Lucas muttered to himself.

The Silent Phantom was able to predict where the Umbra wolves teleport and when they teleport, how they would attack….everyting.

Moreover, judging from the Umbra wolves' furious looks in their eyes, Lucas confirmed that Phantom toyed with them many times.

'Anyway, they are coming here. I should assassinate at least two of the Umbra wolves.'

Lucas tightened his grip around his rank 3 dagger as he waited for the Umbra wolves to come closer.
