Compared to the 'Vampire bite' skill, whose effect Lucas didn't know, he preferred the 'My prey' skill.

Moreover, Lucas felt he needed that skill very much. So, there was no hesitation when he chose that skill.

Even though Lucas knew that the Vampire bat had good skills, the skills appearing on the skill list were not what he expected. So, he had a little trouble in the beginning while choosing the skills.

          The host has chosen 'My prey' skill from the vampire bat's skill list. Please check the skill information in the user interface.

          Congratulations to the host for successfully becoming a tier 1 Lesser assassin.

'Ding,

          The host unlocked the Black sea in which assassin energy is stored.

          Note:- Black sea is also called the Assassin sea.

'Ding,

          From now on, all the hidden weapons used by the host do 20 percent more damage to his targets.

Soon, the series of system notifications appeared in his head, making him reveal a slight smile on his face.

'20 percent increase in all hidden weapons? Interesting.'

For knights, it was only a 20 percent increase in a single weapon. So, Lucas felt it was good to get that effect for all the hidden weapons since he was an expert in hidden weapons in the past.

'Anyway, I will get away from here before the colony of Vampire bats come back.'

Lucas wanted to check the effects of his new skill; however, his first priority was to get away from that place.

'Swoosh'

With that thought in his mind, Lucas hurriedly ran away from that place while making minimum noise.

'I think I can rest here for a while before finding a shelter.'

Since Lucas was planning to stay the entire night in the Viscount grounds to finish the mission, he temporarily found a place to take a small break.

'Time to check my first assassin skill.'

While resting on a tree branch, Lucas checked his new skill.

'Ding,

        Skill name:- My prey.

        Effect:- When the skill is used on a target, the user can track the target no matter where it hides.

        Note:- 1) If the user can't find the target in 24 hours, the skill's effect will disappear.

        Cost:- 100 units of Assassin energy.

Just like the Knight's skills, the Assassin skills use the energy from the Black sea to cast a skill.

'It is a skill I am looking for.'

Lucas was satisfied with the skill and muttered, 'Now, no enemy can escape from me...Hehe.'

Lucas knew how troublesome when his targets hid in some hole only god knows where. So, compared to an attacking skill, Lucas was pretty much satisfied with it.

'Ding,

          The host's 'Sovereign in process' title is activated.

'Ding,

          The host can assassinate another rank 3 spirit beast to get another assassin skill.

          Note:- The title's effect will be lost in one hour.

'What? Is the title's effect applicable to the assassin profession also?'

Just as Lucas was nodding his head at his first assassin skill, he was shocked by the two new system notifications.

'This title is more overpowered than I thought.'

Lucas already felt the title was overpowered when it gave him a 'double sacrifice' chance for Knight profession; however, now, it was doing the same for the Assassin profession.

'The vampire bat's other skills are not as good as I imagined. So, I will search for another spirit beast.'

Even though Lucas had only one hour to finish his second sacrifice for the assassin profession, he was confident enough to find another rank 3 spirit beast.

Because the current time is the favourite time for the dark type spirit beasts to hunt. 

As long as he was careful in his search, Lucas would find a suitable spirit beast for sure.

'Slash'

'Aargh'

Just as Lucas thought to resume his search, there was a cut on his arm.

'Damn it...what is it? If I was not careful, it would have sliced my throat.'

Lucas hurriedly looked at the shadow that attacked him.

'Ding,

          Spirit beast name:- Silent Phantom. 

          Strength:- Rank 3

          Skills:- Unknown.

'Huh? A silent phantom?'

Lucas looked at the black-coloured sparrow that landed on the branch of another tree while staring back at him.

'Looks like it has one good skill that even I can't notice until it is very close to me. If I have that skill….'

Lucas didn't even finish his thoughts as the sparrow disappeared from its place, making Lucas serious.

'Where did it go?'

'Swoosh'

'Damn it...it is behind me.'

'Swoosh'

Lucas dodged the sparrow's sharp wings just in time as he tried to keep the Silent phantom in his sight.

'Where did it go this time?'

However, it disappeared right in front of his eyes, making Lucas alert.

'Swoosh'

'Here it is.'

Once again the sparrow tried to assassinate him which he dodged in a nick of time.

Time continued to pass and in a flash 30 minutes passed by as the sparrow tried to assassinate Lucas nearly 100 times whereas Lucas successfully dodged the attacks without a single scratch on his body except for the small cut on his arms in the first attack.

'That sparrow is merging with the darkness around it. What if there is no darkness around it?'

After being toyed by the silent phantom for nearly 30 minutes, Lucas thought of something that could help him in stopping it.

Even though what he thought was not a complex thing, the silent phantom didn't give him much time to think as it continuously attacked him after disappearing into the darkness.

'It's time to use the fireball spell.'

After thinking of an idea, Lucas started chanting the spell for the 'Fireball'.

'Screech'

'Screech'

'Ding,

          Congratulations to the host for successfully gaining the admiration of the Silent Phantom.

'Ding,

          The Silent Phantom wants to acknowledge the host as its master. Do you want to accept it?

Amidst his chant, Lucas heard a low screech from the black sparrow as though it was trying to say to him, which he understood what it was saying after hearing the system notifications in his head.

'What?'
