Chapter 240: So Near... Yet So Far!
Chapter 240: So Near... Yet So Far!
The moment Bloom used the skill his body moved to hit Gerard and stunning him. The poor Gerard tried to shield himself using his shields but he failed.
Bloom was simply faster and calmer. "Let's see how long you will sustain," he muttered before using his simple swords moves without using any skill at all.
Each hit took at least ten thousand Hp of Gerard, depleting his entire Hp in less than seven strikes.
"Say hi to Dockrey for me," before he finished he said these words and the last hit sent Gerard on his way to the prison.
"Sigh, this was really intense," Bloom muttered before turning to glance at those henchmen who were running at him. "Time to get rid of all the flies then sword tornado."
He didn't hold back his hand and sent his four swords to send all the players to the air once more. Just as they all landed and the technique was still raging wild at all of them, Bloom simply took out two more swords.
"It's time to cause you some despair," he laughed while moving fast, hunting down the players all around without showing any mercy.
As he finished killing them all, he noticed none dropped a single thing. "Strange, does killing players during the quest won't give me anything back?" he was doubting this but after a moment he shrugged, "as if I care about those losers' belongings."
He started to think about his next move. Just before he reached the main street again, he was met with the excited face of Nara who seemed not to stop running after him.
"Did you manage to get them?" she asked while glancing over his shoulders, "where are they? Why are you so calm?"
Bloom took a stamina potion and gulped it. running all this distance and fighting in such an intense way depleted a big chunk of his stamina. "They are dead," he simply stated before adding, "you shouldn't be here. Go and rest at the restaurant."
"I want to be with you," she jumped to say, "I didn't want to be separated again."
"Don't worry," he patted her shoulders while calmly adding, "when time comes, we won't be ever separated."
She didn't know why but his calm words seemed so trustworthy. Even her heart shivered slightly before nodding. "Will you come after you finish here?" she softly whispered.
"Don't count on that," he sighed, "we need to keep things as it is. I'm Henry the new landlord of Bloom's belongings and you are the devastated lover who is seeking revenge."
"Can't you be by my side while taking revenge?"
"I'm already on your side," he muttered, "but not in the open. Just listen to my arrangements, it's better that way."
"It's safer, I admit that," she slowly nodded before adding, "but it's just a pain to live like this, to be not able to see you."
"Hahaha, silly girl you are already amassing a force of your own and I'm doing the same."
"I can be under you," she knew his meaning and tried to provide a solution, "I can move all my forces to work for you."
"You will," he firmly said, "but not now. The time isn't right, we should keep our distance for now."
"What if" she paused as she noticed the serious look over his face, "I wanted to know your news?"
"Antoan will deliver everything to you if you just ask him to," he smiled as he stressed again, "we can't miss lep here, our enemy is really ferocious. After his loss here he would be a wounded beast, the most dangerous of all beasts."
"He wants me," she said, "he can't harm me!"
"But he can harm those close to you," Bloom sighed, "you should know he already did it once, and there is nothing to stop him from doing it again."
"But you are the one provoking him not me!"
"That's another reason for you to stay away from me," he helplessly smiled, "I know this is too much to ask, but I can handle my own matters as long as I know you are safe and secured away."
"I can't be safe without you."
"Be a good girl and don't make things much complicated for us," Bloom sighed, "trust me, if the opportunity is available I won't hesitate to call you over."
She could only watch in silence while watching his back moving far away from her. "So near yet so far" she bitterly said and a long track of tears fell over her cheeks before wiping them out.
"At least you are alive," she whispered before making up her mind, "I should work harder."
Strange it seemed, but the desire to protect her most treasured person drove more will inside her than the raging desire for avenging him.
As for Bloom, he simply prayed she would listen to his words and didn't do anything foolish.
'Send me the locations of everyone hiding now,' he sent to Antoan before adding, 'it's to hunt everyone down.'
'Do you need any help?' Antoan sent a very long list of places which Bloom started to match with his map. 'I can do it on my own,' he sent, 'just keep the boys alert and update me with the news.'
'Roger.'
"So you are scattered around nice tactic," as he matched the locations of the map he found that most were separated from each other by one street at least. "But you underestimated me," he evilly laughed before heading towards the closest hiding location.
And a massacre erupted all over the village where no one ever managed to stand a chance against the brutal attacks of Bloom and his four swords.
"Sorry, it's not personal," he laughed while banging over a group of twenty players hiding like scared rats inside the basement of a normal looking building.
"Stay away, we didn't cause you any harm," one of the players shouted while others started to run, aiming to escape using the high window.
"I know," he grinned, "but you had bad luck to stay inside the village this village at this time sword tornado."
He didn't speak more as he launched his strongest skill over those running away and sent everyone to fly, pulling them back inside the basement. "Die and give me great rewards," he laughed while starting his barrage of attacks, killing all of them in less than a minute.
