Chapter 239: Going After Gerard
Chapter 239: Going After Gerard
She didn't speak and he just imagined her face at the moment and couldn't help for a smile to appear over his face.
'You shouldn't let me feel that pain,' she sent blaming him, 'you should have inclined to me even with hints.'
'Too dangerous,' he simply said, 'besides I keep an eye on you since then, right?'
'The mysterious Henry,' she sent while he couldn't hear her laughs anymore as he already left her far behind. 'Thanks'
She only sent that but he wasn't satisfied. 'Don't tell anyone, not even those whom you trust in your life.'
'Even Jeffrey?'
'Even Peri,' he sent before adding, 'there are many complicated things you don't know about.'
'Tell me then.'
'Not now I'm busy.'
'I can see that,' she sent and he was sure her pure laugh was now ringing across the street.
'You need to fake it well,' he warned again, 'nothing should change your agony your pain all must be the same.'
'Don't worry, I'll make sure none will suspect me.'
'Even those close to you, be perfect or else'
'I know,' she sent, 'I also won't stop my revenge crusade for you my love.'
'Hahaha, you confessed just now, hahaha.'
'It's just your hallucinations,' she sent before adding, 'y'know how true my feelings for you.'
Her last words played on a deep string inside his heart. "Yes my precious I already saw everything," he softly whispered in a deep tone to himself while flashes of her reaction and intense feeling after hearing his death resurfaced inside his mind.
"Found you," just as he was feeling this, his eyes picked a distant trail of a group of players running at the end of the street. They were a small group of twenty or something, and they looked really small from his far place.
"Just wait, I'll make you regret what you did to me bastard!"
He wasn't addressing them, but that phantom image of his dreadful enemy in his mind. The street they were running at was one of the busiest in the village, and yet they managed to spot him.
He noticed some shouts and screaming alarming shouts before the group headed towards the side of the street and planned to diversify themselves into the upcoming streets.
"I hope it works," he was at least over five hundred meters away from them, yet he didn't lose hope as he pointed his sword to the nearest one and muttered, "Dash!"
"System alert: you are too far. The skill can't be initiated."
"Damn it!" he loudly cursed before he had a crazier thought, "Dash!"
He pointed his sword towards an NPC walking in peace just a hundred meter away from him. The next instant he hit the NPC and sent him flying away. "Sorry," he said with a big smile over his face while pointing the second sword towards another one and Dash!
He jumped again to hit that NPC and sent him to fly. He didn't use only the dash but followed it with a cloud of fog skill.
Just as he landed over the second NPC and shouted an apology with a smile, Gerard shouted from the closing up distance with a nervous tone:
"Stop him, don't let him get near me!"
Bloom crossed almost half the distance between him and Gerard, so he could now perfectly see his face. "Afraid of me? Hahaha, you should be," he laughed while leisurely pointing out his sword to another NPC to get closer to his target.
He simply moved without the need to activate the skill again. The cloud of fog gave him five extra times of his dash effect, and he only needed three at most to catch up with that scared lamp.
He jumped another distance while over half of Gerard's dogs were getting nearer to him as well. "Sorry," he smiled as he said to the one he just sent flying, "you are next."
He pointed his sword to Gerard but the system notification told him he couldn't move there.
And just this simple move and sentence made the face of Gerard paler.
"On our dead bodies," the players stood in front of him, forming a human wall in two lines, blocking Gerard from his sight.
"My pleasure worthless flies," he didn't point his sword to them but towards a nearby NPC before sending him flying with an apology.
"My bad, but I have to hurry," he landed again on another NPC, creating a sharp angle and bypassing that useless dummy block.
Yet when he bypassed them, he watched Gerard and the remaining seven of his team reaching finally towards a side street. "Damn!" he pointed his sword towards Gerard yet he missed him in a fraction of second.
"Sorry," he said after landing over another NPC while his gaze was fixed over the almost in reach Gerard.
"Keep running lamp, I'll butcher you today one way or another," he evilly laughed while running with his highest speed towards the side street, entering it like a loose arrow.
"Stop him!" Gerard screamed with all the strength he got while starting to feel cold down his bottom, "don't let him get near me or else I won't let you live outside!"
His last threat managed to drive some fear inside the souls of his henchmen. They weren't following him out of loyalty or love, just for benefit and money.
The next moment they turned around sharply, all of them headed towards Bloom who was now cornered between those coming from the front and back.
"Thinking you can stop me? Pathetic!"
Bloom kept running straight while the upfront team was so near. "Resisting me is futile, fighting me means despair sword tornado!"
He simply used his strongest AOE skill and controlled the path of the swords to circle a big one around him. In less than ten seconds, all the players Gerard sent were tossed to the side of the street while only nothing stayed between the two.
"Who the hell are you? What have I done wrong for you to be this persistent?" Gerard shouted while the tone told Bloom he was about to cry out of despair.
"I don't care to explain anything to a dead man," Bloom ruthlessly said before muttering, "dash!"
