Chapter 174: Florida Man Mistakes Local 11-Foot Giants as Titans from Japanese Anime And Slaughter Them for Freedom
Chasing after the leaving caravans in the sky, Felix traveled at the speed of sound. Unlike in the past, the strong wind didn't make him uncomfortable anymore. It felt like a cool breeze to him.
Exiting the city perimeter, a wide dirt road led northeast along the north coast, heading to another major city and a port. A wide sea entered his vision, and a massive island seemed to be a few kilometers away.
A massive wooden medieval ships parked at the port, two kilometers away from the Balicano City. 500 meters away from the port, a long caravan rushed forward at an abnormal pace as if they were running away from something.
The coastal road was wide and mostly straight. However, because of the nature of the dirt road, the path was full of bumps and small ditches. Many hurrying horse carts wobbled upon running over the potholes and almost flipped over.
Had they been regular horse carts, their wheels or the entire vehicle would have crashed. However, the wagons, carts, carriages, and horses were glowing in blue light as if someone had cast a spell on them.
Felix spotted the suspicious caravan and followed after them. Attempting to intercept the group, he flew over them and stopped in front of the front wagon.
His sudden appearance startled the coachman of the first wagon. He pulled the horse rein, causing his vehicle to stop abruptly. The other following horse carts were also forced to stop and steered to the sides.
The coachman glared at Felix. Instead of questioning him why he stopped them, he bellowed.
"The church's dogs are already here! Knights! Get him and open the path!"
Four knights leaped out from the front caravan while 30 more climbed out of their wagons. Five mages leaped out and levitated in the sky.
The mages were all 6th-circle mages. Even worse, the barbarians were all 5-star aura knights.
Felix scanned the sky and raised an eyebrow. These men wore red pants and some animal fur to cover their chests. Everybody wore a wolf helmet and wielded two battle axes instead of wands or canes like the usual mages.
In addition, the aura knights didn't come out in the orthodox knight armor. Each person was 2.5 meters tall and bulky like an athlete in strongman competition. Similar to mages, they carried battle axes around.
Felix was slightly taken aback by their appearance. He almost mistook them as barbarians from the Highland Province.
While Felix was observing everybody, the mages in the sky looked around and didn't find Felix's comrades. He shouted, reporting to his colleagues.
"He's alone! Get rid of him and open a path before that battle-hungry witch gets here!"
The other knights and mages around the caravan raised their eyebrows and smirked. They all turned to Felix and laughed.
"And here I thought those stupid bitches caught up. It turns out to be just another hero-wannabe idiot. Hey, you! Kneel and beg for forgiveness, and we'll let you live!"
"Nah, guys." Another barbarian added, "He seems to be a mage, too. Let's just chain him up and seal his mana like we always do. Someone with his face is very popular among the matriarchs and shamans. Those women will pay a lot for someone like him."
"Yeah, good idea. Let's catch this guy and sell him along with the other male slaves." Another tall guy concluded.
All aura knights lowered their weapons and chuckled. One of them strode toward Felix, dragging a slave choker and chains over. He sneered as he walked, "Wear it yourself or make me wear it. Actually, you know what? Let me wear it for you. I haven't had a good tight ass for months. I'm craving a good fuck!"
The men behind the barbarian burst into laughter.
"Here we go again. Malakor! Don't ruin our merchandise! If you want to screw some cute boy, wait until we get back to the desert!"
Felix's ears perked up when they mentioned 'desert'. He had a theory in his mind, and he asked, "Are you from Crimson Desert?"
Malakor smirked and extended his hand to seize Felix's neck, "You'll know soon enough."
"Yeah, after I kill you."
The SCAR's muzzle pointed directly at Malakor's head, and a mana bullet came out.
*BANG*
The giant man's head exploded like a watermelon being shot by a .50 caliber round.
Felix didn't stop there. After switching the firing mode to the single shot for accuracy, he took aim.
*BANG*
*BANG*
*BANG*
*BANG*
The tall barbarians were perfect practice targets. Each bullet punctured through their thick chests, crushing their hearts and unalived them instantly.
The death of their comrades triggered their rage. Every barbarian's skin reddened, and their mass expanded, growing one meter taller.
They transformed into 3.5-meter giants. Fangs grew longer, and their lower jaws extended forward, turning them into orge-like creatures.
"KILL THAT BASTARD!" The coachman earlier pointed his finger and commanded the knight while he sprinted to the back of the caravan.
Felix didn't miss that. He specifically targeted the coachman and pulled the trigger.
*BANG*
Like the others, he fell to the floor and stopped moving.
Mages in the sky pointed their battle axes in the sky, and a hundred small and large balls of fire manifested. Furthermore, a dozen magic circles rotated in the sky, summoning magic flame spears, and pointing at Felix.
Felix finally figured out their origins. As he had heard many times before, they might be the rumored people from the Crimson Desert that everybody in this country despited the most. However, since these guys were involved in human trafficking, their racial discrimination seemed justified.
"I see you are the cause of the race war. Let me fix that," Felix kicked the ground and jumped in mid-air, activating his jetpack at the same time. Discover hidden content at m,v l'e-NovelBin.net
Thanks to his previous training at the Chrono Gym, Felix learned how to apply "essence" to increase his movement speed or explosive force. As a result, his jump instantly propelled him 100 meters into the sky and kept him climbing altitude. With the addition of his jetpack, his self-launch speed skyrocketed.
The barbarians blow looked up in astonishment. They shouted at the mages as they couldn't follow Felix to the sky.
"Mages! He's running away!"
The mages rotated their flame spears toward Felix and roared, sending all magic projectiles forward. All fireballs shot forward like homing missiles, following Felix's flight path and intercepting him.
Felix turned around and saw the incoming fire magic. He sighed deeply and stored his jetpack, getting ready for another fire bath.
"I hate fire magic. How many times do I have to burn my clothes?" Felix complained while he aimed at one of the mages and pulled the trigger.
*BANG*
One of the five mages got hit in the chest and fell from the sky. Felix switched targets, but the fireballs already caught up with him. He grudgingly stored the rifle away to prevent damage.
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
All flame spears and fireballs exploded upon touching Felix. A large flame explosion erupted in the sky.
The mages burst into laughter while the barbarians on the ground cheered. One of the later groups pulled out a curtain from a wagon frame, revealing a group of rope-tied priestesses. Some of them had bruises on their faces, arms, and shoulders because of a beating or bullying. A few were left in their lingerie.
"Look up, you bitch!" A barbarian on the ground forced a priestess to look up to witness the fire in the sky. He shouted to her face, "See that? That is your helper! This is what you get for defying the will of the Sun God! Your fake goddess can't do shit!"
He slapped the woman as he finished his sentence. Because of the bloodlust, he had the urge to chop one of them to pieces to soothe his anger and excitement.
*BANG*
Suddenly, a gunshot sounded, and the guy who ripped the curtain had a large hole in his head. He collapsed on the ground, leaking pink brain tissues.
Felix dropped from the sky and landed 150 meters away from his previous location. As usual, his clothes were all burning.
Upon landing, Felix raised his gun and took four more shots.
The barbarian mages, who levitated idly in the sky, all fell to the ground due to gravity. Their rotating magic circles in the sky dispersed into nothingness.
Felix circulated essence into his legs and lightly jogged toward the caravan, closing the distance for a clear angle. While running, he adjusted his aim posture, ready to shoot as he moved.
The barbarians looked at Felix in disbelief and confusion. They couldn't believe that Felix survived that explosion.
"H-How?!"
Felix didn't bother answering. He pulled the trigger before these giants could display their abilities.
Being big had its perks and disadvantages. In this situation, they were so easy to spot that Felix had an easy time picking them off to the last man.
Gunshots continued along with the loud noise of a big mass of giant men hitting the ground.
Five minutes after the fireball explosions, all life signatures of Crimson Desert's giants disappeared from Felix's system map. However, not all red dots were removed from the radar.
Felix began checking the carriages, wagons, and carts. Starting with the front transport, Felix pulled out the covering sheet, checking the hiding cargo or people inside.
The first wagon contained nothing but gold coins, valuable trinkets, and hundreds of mana crystals.
Seeing the mana crystals, Felix's eyes gleamed. He hopped on the wagon and pocketed the crystals into his inventory. They would be converted into precious mana-piercing ammunition that Felix was using.
While Felix was busy looting, three men sneaked out of a carriage at the center. They peeped at Felix. Confirming that Felix did not pay attention to them, they started running south, slipping into tall grasses and dark woods.
None of them realized that Felix already spotted them, but he waited for them to make a move first.
As three red dots started running south, Felix stopped looting. He cut the horse reins and jumped off the wagon to chase the group while his body was still on fire.
The fire spread on the wagon that he had stepped on earlier. Then, the fire reached the horse reigns. Fortunately, Felix had cut them loose, and they ran away from the wagon.
