Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.457 Modifier Races

CH.457 Modifier Races

And today, now that I had finally finished … not all but most of the preparations for my first Yugioh tournament, The Fusion Gate Tournament, named that after the Field Spell I based the card pool on, it was time to make some advertisements.

They would come in the form of these little leaflets I’ll make with HomeBase. They will have the info on when and where the tournament will take place, as well as the prizes.

On top of that, I’m also printing separate booklets that will have all the rules of Yugioh … well, you know, the general rules you need to know to play the game. As well as the tournament card pool. I’ll then deliver some numbers of both to the Queen and hope she will distribute them.

I’ll also send some through the letter exchange boxes I have, so that the people I’ve given those letter exchange boxes can read up on the tournament and decide if they want to take part.

From HomeBase, not many were going to take part. Mostly because they will be busy running everything here. Alice was going to take part. She had a janky dragon fusion deck, running arguably the brickiest brickfest ever. It was basically a Red-Eyes fusion deck, with Meteor Black Dragon and Black Skull Dragon as her ace monsters. She also ran Thunder Dragon, and some other jank, but I’m honestly not sure if she is taking this seriously, or if she is just trying to meme.

Spoiler

But honestly speaking, I’m glad she has a … not so great deck. If Alice really went all out on deck building, she’d likely destroy everyone else in the tournament. Say what you want, but she does still have Mana’s memories, and Mana experienced both the ancient shadow games, as well as the more modern Duel Monsters versions of Yugioh.

Nevelle also decided to take part, but I don’t know what deck she will be running.

As the days with the dhampirs studying under us kept going, we made an interesting discovery. Dhampirs can get the Swift Swimming skill.

Yeah. I didn’t know it either, until one of the dhampirs that had learned Vampiric Body Modification decided to see if they can make themselves a mermaid tail. And after they succeeded in that, they began to swim with Cailie and the other mer-folk on the daily, eventually gaining the Swift Swimming skill.

But for the dhampir, it wasn’t a racial skill, but an extra skill. Probably because you have to have Vampiric Body Modification to be able to get Swift Swimming, and it isn’t an inherent thing dhampirs can just do.

Same as how Lua has her Winged Flight as an extra skill, but for bird-folk, it is a racial skill. Despite the fact that Lua’s wings are actually a natural part of her body and she in fact needs to use a skill to hide them away.

So yeah. I guess the discovery is that if you can alter your body structure with a skill, you can learn racial skills thanks to it.

And because of it, I’ve been looking into skills that can transform your body structure. I of course have the ultimate skill when it comes to that, One of Every Race, but that is a unique-racial skill. Not something that can just be easily gained. I’m decently sure I only have it because the Goddess literally gifted me both the race and the skill.

Dhampirs have their skill for transforming, so maybe we can go from that. Molly and Cina both also have a body transformation skill, but that is limited between their un-evolved and evolved forms.

But yeah. In theory, if a human could alter their body like a dhampir can, new skills. So I really wanted to look into that.

And the way I did it was … it's a bit out there. I basically used Telekinesis and Spirit Magic to make ‘spiritual limbs’ made purely out of magic and mana. Yes, it is about as complicated as it sounds, and in all honesty, is kind of a waste. Or it would be if there weren’t potential skills involved.

In this case, in the form of a System inquiry from the System Agents.

The technique you are trying to perform has been taken into consideration for forming a new skill.
We would like detailed notes on what you want the skill to do, so we may consider it.

There was also an additional note that seemed to be directly from one of the agents that know me.

PS. Just do what you did with Designing. I’m sure we’ll make a skill out of this yet.

So I did just that.

Basically, what I wanted the skill to do is to allow for the forming of extra limbs made of mana. It should also be able to add additional features to already existing limbs, like magical claws. Or do things like coat both of your legs in mana to make a makeshift mer-folk tail.

Sadly, because it isn’t body modification, what it cannot do is remove an unwanted appendage.

After filling in the info and ideas I had, the System soon enough sent a reply.

A similar skill already exists. Multi-Armed. Skill is limited to ‘Multi-Armed’ races. Most races can evolve into ‘Multi-Armed’. We would like you to test Multi-Armed first, then resubmit your skill suggestion.
Race: Multi-Armed unlocked.

I quickly pulled up One of Every Race and checked it out.

One of Every Race

Normal Races Class Races Modifier Races Special Races

Human ☐ Swordsman ☐ Multi-Armed ☐ Dragon Hearted ☐
Advanced Human ☑ Guardian ☐   Melusine ☐

Dhampir ☐ User of Rare Skills ☑   Spiritual Mer-folk ☐
Dhampir Cured ☐     Spiritual Being ☐

And apparently, my new race isn’t even a new race. It is actually a modifier race. And the first of them that I have.

If modifier races are a thing … why isn’t ‘spiritual’ a modifier race? I have like four Spiritual races, so why couldn’t Spiritual be a modifier?

Suggestion accepted. Spiritual is changed into a modifier in One of Every Race. Special Races with 'Spiritual' in the name, with the exception of Spiritual Being, have been deleted as they are now unnecessary.

I watched as the skill screen before me quickly changed. Spiritual Human, Spiritual Beast-folk and Spiritual Mer-folk all disappeared, while Spiritual appeared above Multi-Armed in the Modifiers section.

I then quickly experimented what I can and can’t combine Modifier races with, and to make a long story short, Modifiers can go with anything.

If I want to be a Multi-Armed Summoner Mer-folk, I can do that.

Spiritual Melusine? Yes.

Spiritual Spiritual Being? … well, that one results in an error, so I can’t actually do that. But I can be a Multi-Armed Spiritual Being.

I can be a Spiritual Dhampir, something I couldn’t previously do.

I can even have both Spiritual and Multi-Armed active at the same time.

So because of that, my new go to race will now be Spiritual / User or Rare Skills (Advanced Human). I won’t be throwing in Multi-Armed just yet, but maybe later. Though I think I’ll keep Multi-Armed for combat only. It isn’t really necessary in day-to-day life.

I decided to test Multi-Armed by sparring with Ria. She already has her own Multi-Armed technique, using Vampiric Body Modification, so I decided she’d be the best opponent for me.

… It didn’t go too well for me, because Ria is way better than I am at hand-to-hand combat, but I did get a feeling for that skill. And modifier, but it is also a skill, because confusing things are confusing.

Still, I think my skill suggestion might work on top of what is already here. The Multi-Armed, both skill and modifier, are cool, but not quite what I had in mind.

My idea was literally having new body parts made of mana and magic that you command similar to Telekinesis. And Multi-Armed just isn’t that. Because with physical arms comes physical limitations.

Multi-Armed also cannot do things like giving you claws, unless you already had claws, or turn your legs into a mer-folk tail. Both something I wanted to have as a part of my skill.

But it isn’t like Multi-Armed is bad. It is actually quite nice, and for some reason, I feel like Ria might evolve into a Multi-Armed ‘something something’ Dhampir. Don’t know why. Something just gives me that feeling.
