Chapter 154 Carmilla House
The Carmilla House was a beautiful and flourishing Vampire House within the city of Nyx.
Unlike the more serious Aurelius House that were concerned with bloodlines and maintaining the purity of nobles due to only having a few heirs at a time, the same couldn't be said for the Carmillas.
The three gorgeous Vampires in their convertible were none other than a few of the daughters of the Carmilla House.
Genevieve, Rowena and Catherine of the Carmilla House had seen the van driven by Theodore and approached it.
"Hey!" Genevieve and Catherine laughed and waved happily at the driver's window.
Theodore bit back a sigh and rolled down the window. It was clear from their demeanor that they were carefree Vampires without a hint of worry and concern as to how they disturbed the rest of Nyx.
It was as if the world only revolved around them.
And it might as well have been.
While Rowena, who drove the car, shouted at the people in the streets, the people still parted ways because they recognized the ladies as members of the Carmilla House.
It was one of the four Overlord Houses within the city of Nyx, their influence being clear and evident as the other three–if not in power, but in their presence.
The Carmilla House had a lot of daughters and sons who were wedded off to other notable and influential people within the city and even other places.
Whether it was the owner of Nox Chambers, the Sanguis Ecstasy or some other group with significant power, even if they were not necessarily pure blooded–they somehow managed to take root and sprouted there.
"Who are you people?" Rowena lifted a brow, glancing at Theodore with a curious look.
She had tried to peer into the windows prior, but they had been very tinted.
Even if she had not been cajoled by her younger sisters to look at the only other car they didn't recognize, she would have investigated it all the same.
"You're cute!" Genevieve waved again, not caring about the conversation that Rowena tried to start. "What are you hiding there in the rest of your car? Are there more people like you? We want to meet them."
Rowena sighed a little at her sister, but at least knew that her sister noticed the same thing as her.
"You're not from Nyx right?" Catherine smiled brightly at Theodore. "Judging from the van itself, it seems to be meant for long distance travel and yet it's quite an incredible model. For which family do you work for?"
Rowena glanced at her other sister and became a little proud.
The Carmilla House was not only composed of air-headed ladies who giggled and flirted at every turn they got–it was only important for them to know their targets well, lest they tried to be with someone that was below their station.
Theodore knew that their encounter with a young lord from the Aurelius House was already a bad thing of itself and they barely got away, but this time, it became far more apparent that he needed to get away while still being respectful.
"Pardon me for the traffic, but I come from Lux City under the orders of Weisse House and given strict orders to quickly head to the Blood Wilderness." Theodore inclined his head respectfully. "I do not wish to trouble the ladies of… Carmilla House any further."
The three women exchanged looks with one another.
While they were impressed with the respectful manner that they were addressed, Genevieve only huffed and crossed her arms. "You didn't even say your name. Has that Weisse witch bewitched you too?"
"Yeah, even her people are quite rude." Catherine frowned. "Is that really a thing with the people at Lux?"
Alexei let out a laugh from within the car, unable to stop himself.
Stacy quickly covered his mouth and glared at him.
It was clear to the two Vardokens, or at least Stacy, that they had been silent. Theodore hadn't made any efforts to introduce themselves, but somehow Alexei messed it up.
"What?" Alexei mouthed to her. "It was really funny and unexpected."
Theodore's smile didn't at once slip away. He was used to the knowledge that there was politics between the Overlords of various cities and wasn't surprised that these women knew of Serena Weisse, but he wasn't here for any of this.
"My name is Theodore Farkas Tenebris. A pleasure to meet you."
Stacy and Alexei suddenly raised a brow at the addition to Theodore's name, but their reaction was small compared to the Carmilla House sisters.
Rowena nearly lost her composure and her hands slipped on the steering wheel while Genevieve and Catherine both let out loud gasps.
It was something that hardly anyone knew of, and undoubtedly, none of the Vampires in the city of Nyx wouldn't know of it either, but Theodore was positive that they would know.
That was why Theodore chose to reveal the name now because the Carmilla House that valued connections would know very well on who to avoid.
"That's…" Catherine covered her mouth and exchanged a look with Genevieve.
"Is there more of you inside?" Genevieve asked, looking a bit sick. "Are you hiding them?"
"That… that doesn't make sense if you really are from Lux." Rowena narrowed her eyes. Unlike her sisters, she regained her composure immediately and stared down at Theodore. "And even if you are, nobody would say it outloud either unless you're an idiot. I have every reason to believe that you're lying."
"I'm not." Theodore said. "And I need to leave now, I have orders to go to Blood Wilderness, Lady Carmilla."
"Do you really think we would let you leave?" Rowena raised a brow.
"Shouldn't we let them leave?" Genevieve said. "I don't think they're supposed to be here. It's much better for them to go. Gah, I can't believe I called him cute. Ew."
Theodore hoped that it would make him repulsive, but unfortunately, not all of the Carmilla House believed him.
"Please step down." Rowena smiled. "We might not be able to do much, but it's better to not make things difficult."
