Chapter 116 - Bound The Souls In A Second
Right when Leena and Devin reached home, she kicked him out of her room when he started following her like a lost puppy. What's wrong with him today?
Leena cautiously put the box in a safe, delighted that she earned the treasure. It was already ten in the evening by the time they arrived home and getting fresh, she went down to have her dinner not before accomplishing a mission which she has been thinking from the morning. Feeling heavy with all the food she dumped into her stomach, she went into the garden for a small walk.
Strolling for a while, Leena played with the little puppy that was newly brought into the house today. The cute one's antics reminded of Carrot. I have to call that idiot, she has completely forgotten about her mommy.
Bidding goodbye to the little pup, Leena turned around to leave but stopped when her eyes shifted on to the girl moving towards her. Since yesterday's incident, Leena didn't talk to her.
"She must have suffered a lot for the past four days with the scums vitriol," Leena whispered in a low voice.
"Are you ok?" Leena inquired sitting on a nearby bench.
"I am good! Thanks, Leena." Kyle started. For three days, she was sleep-deprived, and only when Trent was taken away by the cops, Kyle got relieved from the stress.
"For deleting the video?" Leena solicited with a smile.
"Yes! But that's not the only thing. While everyone suspected I was the criminal, you believed in me even after we have known for a short while." Kyle was alarmed when Leena asked her if she was framed directly. Even Austin didn't speculate her when they have been knowing each other for a long time.
"You can tell it's women's instincts. I know you live with morals and that's all it brought me to believe you might not be the fugitive. I don't come to verdicts until I see it with my own eyes." Leena meant it. She would never jump to conclusions until she hears from the person or she sees it with her own eyes.
"Thank you! Friends?" With a hefty smile, Kyle handed a banana smoothie to her. "I made it by myself."
"You have successfully lured me with a banana smoothie. Then I accept your friend request." She smiled grabbing the glass. After a little chit chat with Kyle, they entered the house cheerfully clearing their misunderstanding.
...
Waiting for Leena to come out of the bathroom is worse than waiting for the best plastic surgeon in Beverly hills. Devin was not understanding what sort of skincare products she was scrubbing onto her body for two hours and that's the reason, he has been taking shower before dawn. Once she wakes up and goes into the bathroom, the end of the story.
Even after banging the door for the umpteenth time, Leena did not acknowledge him. With frustration, he walked out of the room and appeared back after two hours. To his relief, she was back from her shower battle.
Getting fresh, he scanned Leena's room, but she was still not back after her dinner. To drag her back, Devin was about to depart when his eyes unconsciously scooted to a gift wrap that he has spotted near his bed.
When Devin glanced at the gift box which had no return address on it, he warily opened it. Surprise, followed by astonishment when he saw a wristwatch sitting on the box. It looks similar. Was it bought by Leena on the day when we went shopping? was it for me!!
Devin wordlessly stared at the watch with an ambivalent expression on his face. He froze, running a hand through his hair unable to control his alacrity.
Strolling in the room back and forth, he thought of the possible reasons. Why did she give me? What if it was a mistake? That idiot would use it for her benefit if I ask more. But still, he wanted to confirm if it was for him.
Unable to pacify his poor heart, he rushed out of the room with the box to confront her but luck was purely on his side when the girl of his dreams appeared in front of him.
When he suddenly appeared in front of her, she stared at him nervously. He would have known by it now.
"Did you buy a watch for me?" Devin asked anxiously as he waited for her reply.
"I_I it was for my King Kong Park uncle. But then, he did not like it when I sent a picture of the watch and I have invested a lot of money. So, I thought of giving it to you since you have become my best friend." Leena quickly cooked up a story to escape from his probing questions. How many times was it, Leena! You have been using Francy as your scapegoat to escape every time. He would chop you into pieces if it reaches his ears.
He seems to know Wilbur very well. What if he knows Francy and exposes me? I have to handle him carefully.
"M_y uncle doesn't like watches. I forgot that part." She blurted out whatever came to her mind right at the moment.
"Is it? Then why did you give it to me? Why didn't you give it to Drew or Jasper then?" Devin asked with a mischievous grin.
"Because I _I" Leena ransacked her brain to cook up another story but none hit the surface. Why did I give it to him? I have known Jasper for a long time and Drew has become close to her to the point of becoming a brother.
"Perhaps do you like_"
Even before Devin could enunciate his words, in a flash Leena appeared in front of him trying to grab the box but her efforts were futile when he lifted.
"Give it to me, idiot." Leena jumped striving to reach his hand but Devin held up his hand stiffly.
"Catch me if you can?" He winked, unable to resist the urge to mess with her a little.
Damn it! Why is taller than me? To get the box back at any cost, Leena leaped onto his feet.
Caught off guard, Devin stumbled and lost balance, and before he realized he was knocked on the ground yanking Leena along with her unconsciously. Before Leena could recover her senses, she toppled him and the soft lips landed on the warm ones. At the touch of their lips, her face blossomed like a flower. The one kiss which has bound the souls in a second.
They gazed at each other in a trance until the door was pushed open and a scream echoed into their ears
