Chapter 289: Compatible Companion
She nodded her head and he whispered to her ears, "Ancient Dragon True Energy!"
Her body trembled and as if she grasped what she had been missing and her body began to have fluctuations of different energy, shaking the room along the way.
"Sis?" Zero asked, astonished. This time he wasn't harbouring negative intent on Seth.
"You are kidding me!" Rena asked elated but Seth summoned his greatest smug look and said, "Of course not. That's why I told you it's the greatest item created by a player in Gawee!"
Her hand began to itch as she said, "I can make it have more pages you know. Supporting something like this will help me greatly."
"Aha, now you get it!" Seth's fishnet has captured the fish. He added, "you can have this and this and this…"
He gave her a sample of First Painting Canvas of different Ranks.
"Ah. Why? I mean, you got a lot of them!"
"Hehe. Of course. I have reached a milestone and now I can use many papers to create them. You, the source of unlimited paper and I can convert them to this one"
'This two are compatible. He is like a missing half that Rena wants all this while. If she had met him earlier she wouldn't have risked herself to go to that place' Zero thought.
He also has perceived something about Seth, the man might need the papers but the way he was behaving as if he was trying to elicit something.
At first, he assumed Seth wanted to dupe Rena but he knew that wasn't Seth's character as far he knew.
'Did he realize that her quest was a failure and was trying to uplift her spirit. Look at her laughing. When was the last time she laughed.' Zero tried to reason.
His sister has been in trauma ever since they returned from that vile place. She also refused to log in until their parents forced her to change her Logging Point and ever since she didn't log in but now.
Even now, he wasn't the one that convinced her. He has to tell their grandmother to force her by saying that their leader Zambia has come back with some good news.
'What are you Seth? I can't seem to read you!' Zero thought.
True to Zero's assumption, Seth had indeed perceived that they had failed and for that he took the initiative to lighten up the mood.
"Tell me the truth. Why were you startled when you heard my voice!" Rena asked. "Did my voice change or what?"
Maybe she has become twisted due to that event and her brother and teammates refused to tell her the truth.
"Well, I went to Papelace!" Seth said truthfully and both Rena and Zero stiffened. He ignored their reaction and added, "and I felt a presence of something old and powerful and it toyed with me."
Awful expressions appeared on the sibling's face before they nodded in understanding.
"When I heard your voice I felt that Being was present in you. It was tiny but hell, it awakened my trauma"
"Well, I'm cursed to forever be a paper!" She said, sadness laced in her voice.
"Hahahaha!" Seth burst into laughter that shook the room. Tears began to fall from his eyes.
The two siblings almost became angry but when they noticed his laughter was strange and it was becoming hysterical, they held their judgment.
"Damn you. Fucking paper lord. I wasn't the only victim then. What a petty bastard!"
Seth muttered as he tried to hold his laughter using his right hand to cover his mouth.
On his left hand appeared Red Diamond Absolution and Crystal Clear Stone on top.
Seth managed to become silent and he grimaced as he realized he really did have a mental defect now.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"Just now, the red circle of your irises increases inward. It would have turned your eyes red completely!"
Seth became thoughtful and said, "Did my aura change?"
"No?"
"Why are you laughing?" She asked. Rena has low self esteem and was very sensitive to this kind of thing.
"Well, I went to Papelace to get Paper Making ability but that hateful fellow, vowed that till the end of time I will never get any ability related to that by no means possible!"
Rena was surprised as she heard that, "It was opposite to me. All my abilities have been destroyed and all avenues of getting them were close. Now I can only do paper and only paper alone!"
"Well, he is really petty!" Zero tried to joke but Rena stopped him.
"He may hear. I have been reduced to nothing but to be the Vassal of his past weakness. Please, Seth, Zero refrain from saying those words."
"If you are a Vassal, that's fine." Seth tried to encourage.
She shook her head, if Seth knew the context of what happened he won't have said that.
"Let us go to my cart and make a more special canvas please!"
Seeing that they are at ease with him he invited them.
"Why do you always have all the good stuff?" Zero said with envy as he observed the interior of the cart.
"Well, I work for it," Seth teased .
"And we don't?" Rena asked, a bit annoyed in a joking manner.
"Who knows!" Seth laughed.
"How many papers do you want?" Rena changed the subject. "Thousands or million?"
Seth froze and he looked at her. He found her smug face staring back at him with a proud smile.
"I need infinity!" He said to taste the shallowness of the water.
"You got that!" And with a snap of her hand papers filled the cart.
As if a hungry beast saw food, Seth looked at them fondly. He pulled out First Painting and unfold it but he closed his eyes.
"Don't look!" He told them. "you may get lost in it!" He added.
Seth packed hundred BVP paper and placed them on.
They immediately meld together and become single.
Ding
[First Painting Canvas replica (F-) rank formed]
Seth nodded as he picked and checked it. It looked very similar to the one the canvas vomited but also different.
He then handed it to Rena after he hid the first canvas from sight. She checked it too and said, "It's a bit different but the same. Your canvas converts the paper together to produce it!"
Seth has come into the same conclusion.
And so creation of (F-) canvas began contentiously. Seth wanted to see the limit of what it can do but after making about 1000 (F-) canvases he concluded this may go on forever.
Then he began to add more paper than one hundred to make a higher rank canvas.
He easily found that he needed around 690 BVP papers to create (F) canvas. This also went on till he created 1000 pieces.
Then he created 1000 (F+) paper using 899 BVP each but from there he can't make any rank above it.
"This canvas is really high level to be able to do all these and considering it was converting what was there and not adding anything means it can go on indefinitely."
"The Canvases all have BVP characteristics and I believe if different papers were used, what was created will have its characteristics."
Seth agreed with her. And seeing these numerous high level Canvases Seth mind was already working overtime on how to best use these tools.
"How long will you stay here?" She asked.
"A day but now a week!" He said as he carefully caressed the papers. He was almost drooling. Before he looked at her and said,
"The E rank ones, why can't we make them."
He had placed thousands of BVP but they didn't make any E rank.
"I think it's about quality now. This level of BVP can only make F rank. If I improve their quality then it will be able to."
She said before she smiled and added, "I will go gather all possible different canvases and papers and anything related to that. With it I will have comprehensive knowledge and maybe I will grasp wisdom."
"Before that," Seth was in his resting attire, a white shirt and trousers, "You said it's spell book. What is the difference between spell and skill!"
Rena pondered, she was sitting with folded legs, in soft attire and beside her was Zero. He was uncomfortable and so he was in a half kneeling position wary of any concealed attack.
"In most contexts they are the same. But when it comes to complex matters, skills are those abilities that have Instant Switch." She pondered before she gave examples.
"My ability to make paper is a Skill. With a snap of my finger a paper will pop out. But a Spell is a process. It takes different components to connect and then pushes to create an ability or phenomenon."
