Lucas thought it would be troublesome to enter the Grayeye family; however, unlike his expectations, he was welcomed with an open heart by the guards.

'They are genuinely very respectful to me, a family head of a newly created family. But, that assassination attempt….looks like only the second young master of the family wants me dead.'

While entering the grayeye family's manor, Lucas silently muttered to himself; however, he didn't care much as he would definitely exact revenge on those who want me dead when the time comes.

Lucas was not the type to forget someone who wanted him dead. So, of course, he would keep the name of the second young master of the grayeye family in his mind.

"Young family head."

Soon, a middle-aged man walked into the main hall and sat in front of Lucas.

"Family head Rodrigo."

Lucas also greeted back; however, he was not too respectful or disrespectful while greeting.

'Huh?'

Rodrigo raised his brows when he saw Lucas was not even standing while greeting him; however, he didn't say anything before saying,

"I was thinking of sending someone to invite here; however, I didn't expect the young family head to come here."

"And for what reason?"

It was Lucas' turn to raise brows as he asked with a calm look on his face.

"I will not beat around the bush and will come straight to the point."

Even though Rodrigo was dissatisfied with Lucas' behaviour, he remained calm as he continued, "I want your Hellmore family to become a subsidiary family of my Grayeye family. What do you say?"

'Huh?'

Lucas finally understood why the Grayeye family was so respectful to him despite the fact they usually behave like a tyrant.

"What if I say no?"

With a calm look, Lucas asked Rodrigo.

"If you don't want to become a subsidiary family, it is also fine as I can't force someone to become my subsidiary family."

Rodrigo shook his head as he continued, "However, you need to watch out  because there are many of my subsidiary families from the newly created families."

At the end of his words, Rodrigo's face has an evil smile on his face.

"Is that a threat?"

However, Lucas' facial expression didn't change as he asked Rodrigo.

"It is not a threat; instead, it was advice for you to make the right decision."

Finally, Rodrigo revealed his usual arrogant smile as he replied to Lucas.

"Haha"

Hearing those words, Lucas could not help but laugh out loud.

"Brat, how dare you laugh when you are in front of the family head."

One of the servants who invited Lucas into the manor with full respect had an angry look on his face as he rushed towards Lucas to kill him.

"Clang"

However, before the servant's sword could land on Lucas, another sword blocked it making a metal clicking sound.

"Is this how you treat your guests, Sir Rodrigo?"

The sword that blocked the servant's sword belonged to a middle-aged man who looked at Rodrigo and asked in a serious tone.

"Manager Rean."

"Manager Carl."

Rodrigo stood up and with a frown, he called the names of the middle-aged men.

That's right!

It was none other than Manager Rean who blocked that attack while questioning Rodrigo.

Along with Manager Rean, there was another manager of the adventurer's guild who was brought here by Manager Rean at the request of Lucas.

"Manager Rean, you are right on time."

Lucas revealed a slight smile before saying, "They are holding someone from the Hellmore family hostage just for a debt of 1000 gold coins. Can you be the witness while I exchange the gold coins with the family head Rodrigo?"

Lucas didn't want to waste much of his time while talking non-sense with Rodrigo. So, he directly asked Manager Rean to be the witness as he knew the Grayeye family would use more dirty tricks to keep the contract.

"What 1000 gold coins? It is 10000 gold coins."

Hearing Lucas' words, Rodrigo shouted at Lucas.

"What are you talking about, Sir Rodrigo? They only took 1000 gold coins from your family."

Lucas acted like he didn't know anything as he shouted back at Rodrigo.

"Hey, brat. Stop fooling if you know what's best for you."

Rodrigo was very angry at Lucas and if not for Manager Rean and Manger Carl, he would have killed Lucas the moment he rejected his offer.

"Managers of the adventurer's guilds, please uphold the justice by checking the contract with the truth potion."

Until now, other than the offer given by Rodrigo, everything that's happened in the Grayeye family was under his control. So, he used his final move.

A truth potion is a rare rank 3 potion that was especially sold to the adventurer's guild by the Potion hall; however, the ingredients to cook them were so rare that their price was very high compared to his use.

Who would spend 1000 gold coins just to pour it on a beast skin to remove any words added to it after its first time? Unless it involved a lot of money.

'What? They have the truth potion?'

Hearing that, Rodrigo frowned and muttered, 'Looks like this brat came fully prepared. No wonder, he dared to enter my manor without any fear. Also, where did they get the true potion? Aren't ingredients to refine the truth potion extinct a decade ago?'

Finally, Rodrigo understood that it was all Lucas' plan and fell right into it.

"Sure."

Manager Carl nodded his head and looking at Rodrigo, he asked, "Can you give me the contract, Sir Rodrigo?"

"There is no need for Manager Carl to use the Truth potion."

Rodrigo hurriedly thought of something as he continued, "I will let go of the girl and tear this contract to apologize for my subordinate's rashness without taking a single gold coin."

Since Rodrigo had tampered with the contract, he didn't want the Managers to find out about it.

So, he showed the contract while covering the loan amount on it before burning it into ashes.

"Thank you, Sir Rodrigo."

With a satisfied smile on his face, Lucas was the first one to thank Rodrigo before asking, "Can you return the girl now?"

'Damn you.'

Rodrigo was furious looking at the smile on Lucas's face; however, he could not do anything in front of the Managers of the adventurer's guild. So, he suppressed his anger as he ordered someone to bring the girl.

"Uncle Harper, Uncle Reece."

Soon, a young girl around the age of 15 was brought by two servants and the moment she saw Reece and Harper, she rushed towards them.

"Thank you, Managers of the adventurer's guild for upholding justice. I will take my leave now."

Soon, Lucas thanked Manager Carl and Manager Rean before leaving the grayeye family along with Reece, Harper and young Martha.

"We will take our leave too, Sir Rodrigo."

Next, Manager Carl and Manager Rean also left to the adventurer's guild.

"Damn you, brat. I will see how you can live in the Silverstone town peacefully after today."

Rodrigo clenched his fists as he thought about various ways to destroy Lucas and his family.
