Sovereign of the Firmaments

At the entrance of the Silverstone town.

Around 80 assassins were looking at the group that was mixed with spirit beasts and the humans with furious eyes.

At the same time, the group mixed with humans and the spirit beasts were looking at the assassins; however, unlike the assassins, they looked at them with faces full of pity.

"Family head, how are you so confident in them killing 12 assassin guild leaders in such a short time?"

On top of the town wall, Lucas and Bernard were looking at the two groups looking at each other as the old man asked Lucas with an unbelievable look on his face.

That's right!

Initially, there were a total of 20 guild leaders; however, right now, there were only eight of them and from the original nearly 1000 assassins, only 60 of them were standing behind the eight assassin guild leaders.

"Aren't you wondering where the rank 4 haunting ethereals went to when such a big fight is going?"

Lucas didn't explain the old man directly; instead, he asked a question that made Bernard understand why he didn't see three haunting ethereals for the entire time.

"But still, those three can't cover such a huge area in such a short time."

Bernard was still not convinced but he didn't ask Lucas and only gave his thoughts to Lucas.

"Hey old man, didn't I already tell you that I have a loyal assassin inside the assassin guild?"

Lucas was annoyed at the old man's questions and asked him to stop asking any more questions and just watch the show.

'Hmm…looks like I can stop worrying about the young master from now on.'

Shaking his head, Bernard looked towards the two groups.

'Beck and Ghost snake, it is time for the last step of the plan now.'

Soon, Lucas transmitted his voice to Beck and Ghost snake simultaneously with a slight smile on his face.

'Yes, young master.'

'Yes, master.'

Beck and Ghost snake nodded their heads.

"Since you dared to spy on the Silverstone town, you will all die today. Everyone, attack."

Once she received the order from Lucas, Beck didn't waste any more time as she shouted and ordered everyone to attack.

"Everyone, let's fight to the death."

Even though all the assassins were furious at Lucas' followers for killing so many of their members, they didn't have the courage to fight them because of the two rank 5 spirit beasts.

Among the 68 assassins, no one had the skills to defeat a single rank 5 spirit beast, not to mention there were two of them in front of them along with more than a dozen rank 4 spirit beasts.

For that same reason, Ghost snake shouted those words trying to encourage the assassins to fight the incoming group.

'Swoosh'

However, before his words could have any impact on the assassins, Lucas' group had already reached the assassins and started killing them.

A few of the assassins were fast and tried to escape; however, they were killed by the rank 4 haunting ethereals who were waiting for the assassins to run.

Within no time, among the 68 assassins, only 18 were still standing as they barely defended themselves against Lucas' followers.

"Everyone, listen. At this rate, we are going to kill anyone. So, why not bring some of them along with us?"

Ghost snake resumed his motivation as he rushed towards one of the rank 5 elemental lynxes that were about to kill a guild master.

"I am going to take this rank 5 spirit beast along with me."

His words were enhanced by some kind of magic and in the next second, the time seemed like it stopped in the eyes of those assassins that were still standing.

'Slash'

In front of everyone's eyes, Ghost Snake combined both of his daggers and made it into a short sword before beheading that elemental lynx.

"Aargh"

After killing the rank 5 elemental lynx, Ghost snake looked at the sky as he shouted as loudly as he could.

"Everyone, let's kill our way out of here."

Only Ghost snake' words resounded in the entire surroundings and all the assassins that barely defending felt goosebumps when they looked at Ghost snake.

"Yes. We can do it."

"Let's kill these spirit beasts and foolish humans."

"Let's go."

"There is nothing that can stop us from leaving here today."

Compared to Ghost snake's earlier words, his latest words had a huge response as though he was a leader that would help them leave this place.

'Slash'

'Puchi'

Soon, the few last standing assassins started attacking Lucas' followers as though they were possessed by something.

Within no time, only seven assassins were able to kill Lucas' entire force except for Beck, Harper and the second rank 5 elemental lynx.

"Huf huf"

Both sides that left with less than double digits were completely tired from fighting; however, the assassins looked in great form as they could go for another round.

Finally, when the assassins thought that Ghost snake would encourage them to kill the last few members of the other group, they heard Ghost snake say, "It is time for us to escape. Let's go."

'What?'

They were shocked and surprised for a moment; however, they didn't say anything and nodded their heads.

"I know you want to kill them; however, we are completely tired. Moreover, don't forget they still have a rank 5 shadow dragon inside the town. If it comes out, we will die in vain."

Nevertheless, Ghost snake still explained to them and was the first one to run and behind him, the six assassins also started running.

"Do you think you can escape after killing so many of my friends?"

Harper was furious as he cast a spell 'Advanced lightning storm' at the running away assassins.

'Rumble'

Two assassins were unlucky as they got caught in the lightning storm and died in it whereas the others escaped successfully.

"We have to inform about this incident to the headquarters."

After they successfully escaped, Ghost snake suggested this which was agreed by everyone.

'He is full of surprises.'

This was the only thought in Ghost snake's head as he thought about Lucas.
