Chapter 430 429: Back To The Mountain of Metals
430 429: Back To The Mountain of Metals

From the moment my master told me that the dimension was about to collapse and that we were able to return to the Mountain of Metals, I had envisioned a lot of scenarios that might occur.
I had envisioned my master and I having an extremely difficult and extremely dangerous battle with countless monsters.
I had envisioned narrowly avoiding death so many times in the upcoming battle.
I had envisioned getting severely injured, bloodied, and exhausted.
I had envisioned even a situation where my master and I would have to escape because of an extremely powerful monster.
However… How am I to explain the scene currently before me?
How am I to explain the fact that my master was currently slaughtering monsters left and right with a gigantic axe while surrounded by lightning bolts that fell from the sky without stopping?
How was I to explain the fact that my master who was merely a tier 2 created a massive array that shook the skies and summoned lightning bolts that had been falling for ten minutes?
In fact… how did it all begin?
Ah yes… I remember now.
After we reappeared in the Mountain of Metals, Master told me to hide, and then he teleported for several minutes.
Just when I was starting to get worried that something had happened to Master, I heard the sound of thunder, and a terrible premonition came over me. At that moment, I thought the strange rain from the horrific desert had reached the Mountain of Metals.
However, when I went to check it out, I saw Master standing at the center of a massive array that rained down lightning on the monsters of the Mountain of Metals.
The lightning from the array killed most of the monsters, and some of those that didn't die were killed in a manner I could not explain.
I saw my master unleash punch after punch, and although his fists would not touch any of the monsters, the monsters that were in the direction of the punches would scream and then they would crumble apart like they were made out of glass.

I saw my master unleash punch after punch, and although his fists would not touch any of the monsters, the monsters that were in the direction of the punches would scream and then they would crumble apart like they were made out of glass.
It was an extremely chilling sight for me.
After some time, I saw my master bring out his large axe which he wielded like it was as light as a feather.
The sight of my master effortlessly killing monsters that were even as strong as tier 4 monsters was a sight I would never forget.
Another thing I took notice of was that most of the monsters in the Mountain of Metals had a high affinity with the earth and metal element, which meant that most of their attacks were of the earth and metal element.
However, as I watched my master fight, I came to realize that the attacks of most monsters barely left a scratch on Master's body.
There was a time when a centipede-like monster released earth spikes at Master, and Master was not able to dodge. But even with that, not a single sign of injury could be seen on Master's body.
It was a scene that baffled me.
However, out of everything I witnessed from the moment we left the dimension of the Capra King, what sent shivers down my spine the most was the current sight of my master sitting atop the corpse of the strongest monster of the Mountain of Metals with an indifferent gaze.
The monster resembled a Mountain Lion, and it had the strength of an average tier 5.
To his right and left were the corpses of two monsters that also had the strength of a tier 5. Although they were weaker than the Mountain Lion.
One of the corpses resembled a reptile, while the other resembled a scorpion, however, both had drastically different appearances from a normal reptile and a scorpion.
As I stared at my master sitting on the corpse of a monster that had the strength of a tier 5 while being surrounded by countless corpses of other monsters and the continuous downpour of lightning, it did not feel like I was looking at a human but at a god in the world of mortals.
I could not help but mumble.
"Just who are you, master?"
----
As Corey sat on top of the corpse of the strongest monster of the Mountain of Metals while recovering his mana, stamina, and healing his injuries at the same time, he could not help but flash a slight grin as he recalled what he had learned in his fight against the monsters of the Mountain of Metals.
He just discovered a new ability of the Paragons which the Paragon Ancestor and Nina had not told him about.
It was related to the elemental resistance that a Paragon got after fusing with an Infinity Crystal.
When Corey fused with the Earth Infinity Crystal and obtained Earth Resistance, he thought that Earth Resistance just meant that tier 4 skills and below that used the Earth element would no longer be able to affect him, however, he was wrong.
That was not all there was to it.
During his fight with the monsters of the Mountain of Metals, Corey realized that he could even ignore tier 4 defenses and below that used the earth element.
For example, Corey had fought some monsters of the Mountain of Metals that were on par with tier 4 beings, and some of these monsters had stone skins that boosted their defenses to a disgusting level that would even trouble some tier 5s.
However, whenever Corey attacked the monsters with stone skins, it was like he cutting through butter with an axe. It was like the defenses of the stone skin did not exist.
In fact, there were times when he was forced to use his fist, and when he did, it was like he was punching actual skin and not skins made out of stones.
It was a baffling and also wondrous feeling, and this made him realize that Paragons were truly the bane of mages.
'If Paragons have so many powerful abilities, then how powerful are the Supremes? Paragons cannot defeat the Supremes, and neither can the Supremes defeat the Paragons. Just what sort of abilities do Supremes have?'
Corey looked up, and his eyes reflected the array he had created. The array was one of the strongest arrays he could create, and with his current abilities, it could kill every tier 3 and below that was in the range of the array.
As for tier 4s, the array would merely cause slight injuries. While for tier 5s and tier 6s, the array would do nothing.
Creating this array was a must for him or he'd have wasted so much energy and time fighting weak monsters which would have made it more dangerous for him.
Corey stared at the array for a few seconds, and then he snapped his finger, dispelling the array. He turned and looked at Selene who was staring at him with visible complicated emotions in her eyes.
"I'll create an array that'll help me take this mountain of metals with me. It'll take time, so you just need to wait."
Selene was just about to reply, but before she could, the sound of a bell chime resounded across the entire shattered dimension.
