Chapter 482: Ninety Nine Roses
Chapter 482: Ninety Nine Roses
Siblings are our accomplices in crime gifted to us by the heavens. The first childhood friend that you get into all sorts of mischief with and share unique family jokes. This encompassed how Wen Danzhe felt about his brother.
These pair of siblings had been each other support throughout their entire lives. Their relationship could be described as that of best friends who grew up under the same roof. Their personalities were different but they complemented each other so much that left others envious.
Because of their personality differences, Wen Danzhe was a little protective of Wen Qinxi. Even in elementary school, it was Wen Danzhe who beat up anyone who dared mess with his brother that some people began to question who was the eldest between them and the height difference didn't help the situation.
So when Wen Qinxi decided to do this, Wen Danzhe greatly opposed it but his older brother insisted and he couldn't do anything to change his mind. The only way he could protect his older brother was by becoming a nuisance at GameX.
When his brother lost contact in Flagship he would come over and just sit next to his gaming capsule while playing games on his cellphone.
One can only imagine his reaction when he found out his brother was awake. He even tipped the hired driver extra so he could drive faster. Once he arrived at GameX he ran into the building with his fluffy hair bouncing with the breeze from the aircon.
The receptionist had seen him a couple of times but she hadn't gotten used to this handsome didi who had kissable wide lips. She shyly tucked her stray strands behind her reddened ear while asking, "You are here to see Mr Xia? He said you can come through."
If it was any other day he would chat her up but today there was an emergency. "Thanks," he said before dashing over to the elevator. The receptionist's gaze followed his figure till he disappeared into the elevator.
She took out her cellphone and sent a hot guy alert emoji on WeChat to her group of colleagues with a radiant smile. Such was the tradition. Work sisters had to de-stress by pleasing their eyes and such good things had to be shared.
Wen Danzhe stood in the elevator feeling rather anxious. He wished the elevator could go faster than it normally does each time he comes here but that was only wishful thinking. The elevator stopped five times and each time pairs or trio groups of women walked in each shyly greeting him.
He wasn't aware that he was being sabotaged each time he came here. They were chuckling as they stood behind him and one or two brave souls took pictures. Normally he would strike a conversation but today he was rather impatient that as soon as the elevator reached the gaming room floor he rushed out without looking back breaking the hearts of the ladies enjoying the view.
The door slid open and he strode in asking, "Where is he?" but his steps paused when he saw what these two nerds were doing. Xia Bai was massaging Hei Bao's shoulders with a strange look on his face. This would have been classified as innocent but the sounds Hei Bao was making reminded him of something rather obscene.
"Uh huh.... a little harder.... yah just like that. Uh huh, ah..... that feels so good..... Ah," were the sounds coming out of Hei Bao's throat that warranted this expression,
"....." on Wen Danzhe's face.
Xia Bai covered Hei Bao's mouth and said, "He is in there," with an expression as dark as the dark side of the moon. If he had known this little flirt would make such sounds from a simple massage he wouldn't have volunteered his services. Well, at least not here.
Wen Danzhe gave them a long glance over with a look of fascination before entering the glass room. But his heart sank when he couldn't find Wen Qinxi. He walked back out and said, "He is not in there."
The two people who were meant to be watching Wen Qinxi looked at each other with a look of surprise. "He was in there a minute ago unless....," replied Hei Bao as he swung the swivel chair he was sitting in to look in Wen Danzhe's direction.
"He snuck out while I went to buy you snacks, didn't he?" asked Xia Bai staring at Hei Bao. Hei Bao must have been in his earbuds that he didn't hear Wen Qinxi stealthily walk out of the room.
As to where Wen Qinxi was? Even a toddler can guess his whereabouts. He grabbed his cellphone and casually messaged Machu asking for details. This half-asleep doctor shared all the details without much thought thus Wen Qinxi went hunting for his man like a stalkerish wife.
He wore a mask and a baseball cap all taken from Hei Bao's laptop bag which meant his coworkers couldn't identify him as he left GameX. Everything seemed to go according to plan that is until he got to the hospital. Qie Ranzhe's room was on a private floor refusing access to unauthorized personnel and he was one of those unauthorized persons.
Wen Qinxi sneered as he left the front desk. He should have been the first on the list of authorized personnel yet he wasn't even an afterthought. He had to figure out another way to get into that room so he hung around a little longer looking for the right opportunity.
Thirty minutes later and the right opportunity arose. He spotted a delivery man walk to the front desk with a flower bouquet. As soon as the man placed them on the countertop to take out the machine to get the nurse's signature, he swiped them and left a stack of banknotes before he vanished like a thief in the night.
By the time the delivery driver noticed it was already too late. He had been robbed by a polite thief. Well, that's not right because he had paid for the flowers plus a generous tip so maybe there should be another name for this kind of person.
Wen Qinxi slipped into the elevator with the big bunch of ninety-nine red roses covering his face. The elevator was about to close when he noticed an old granny trying to catch the elevator. He blocked the door with his foot and the doors reopened as he helped the granny enter the elevator.
"Thank you, my child," she said with a sweet smile.
Wen Qinxi nod his head and asked her which floor before pressing the button. The old granny was so touched so she asked, "Those for your girlfriend?"
Wen Qinxi, "....."
How was he supposed to respond to that? 'No, I stole these flowers to get into my boss slash boyfriend's room?' Naturally, he couldn't say that otherwise she might get a heart attack and die because of him.
"Um no. It's, it's a delivery," he said looking rather timid.
