Sea of flames

As they watched the Hummer stop at the entrance of the breeding farm, Liu Zhi was about to rush out, but Lin Yan grabbed him back.

“Sister Hong…” he lowered his voice, full of confusion.

Leaning against the dirt slope, Lin Yan held a cigarette in her hand, gently flicking the ash off.

“No rush. Adding flowers on brocade goes unnoticed, and sending charcoal in snowy weather shows deep friendship. Going out at this time will only make you look suspicious,” Lin Yan advised.

Liu Zhi still had a hint of doubt, “But what if what Chen Fang said is false?”

She casually blew a smoke ring, “Then let’s consider it as us witnessing some excitement.”

In their conversation, Kuba had already jumped out of the car. The guard, upon seeing his face, immediately slung his gun over his back and respectfully opened the wooden gate.

“Second Master, please.”

Kuba got back into the first Hummer again, slowly driving through the gate. Song Yuhang lowered her head and, with others, carried away the wooden fence. Inadvertently, she glanced at the dark glass, reflecting the scarred face of an old man, appearing quite terrifying in the night.

Was this the infamous drug lord, the Supreme Lord known for cunning and treachery, who had terrified countless people in the Golden Triangle region?

Surprised, Song Yuhang discreetly brushed her coat button as she watched the departing Hummer, casually noting down its license plate number.

After getting the person inside, she took the opportunity when others weren’t paying attention, picked up an AK and followed behind the patrol team.

Luckily, these bandits were all dressed similarly in desert camouflage, with black face masks covering up to their noses, leaving only their eyes visible. Without careful observation, one couldn’t tell that she had long switched places like a fox becoming a prince.

These individuals operated in a militarized manner, with shifts and clear responsibilities. Many of them had broad shoulders, sturdy physiques, flat noses, and exuded a fierce aura, looking like well-trained fighters.

Not far away, a group of shirtless teenagers, gathered to play dice in front of a small bungalow. Judging by their appearance, they were no more than fourteen or fifteen years old, or even younger.

Many of them had strange and exotic tattoos on their bodies and faces, standing on tables and chairs with beer and other beverages close at hand, the drinks topped with U.S. dollars.

It was unclear who had lost the bet again, but money was swiftly swept away, prompting the loser to curse loudly in a language she couldn’t comprehend. Several others pounced on him, knocking him to the ground and brutally kicking his face.

The patrol leader shouted loudly in Burmese, causing the group of kids to step back, still grumbling as they spat on the ground.

The thick phlegm landed near Song Yuhang’s feet. She tightened her grip on the gun, almost tempted to shoot these people right there. However, she knew that the most crucial task of this mission was not killing or saving these misguided children.

It was to bring back every single detail of what she had witnessed and captured on film today.

In the future, all of these would become crucial pieces of evidence to determine life and death in the courtroom.

Song Yuhang quietly exhaled a turbid breath, calming her emotions and continuing to move forward.

After roughly circling the entire camp, she had a rough estimate in her mind, but she was also secretly shocked.

The camp comprised around fifty individuals, not including the sharpshooter stationed on the watchtower brought in by the Supreme Lord. Over half of them were young adults, with a dozen or so child soldiers.

The sheer magnitude of the armed forces in the land of Jiangcheng City, hidden in the deep mountains and dense forests, raised the question of who had given them the authority.

The person who could make Kuba and the Supreme Lord come personally must have a significant background.

As the night grew darker, the vigilance in the camp became even stricter, pervaded by a tense atmosphere hinting at an imminent battle.

Song Yuhang knew that every minute and second she delayed would reduce her chances of safely getting out of there. However, as she looked at everything before her – the organized criminal syndicate, the stacked boxes of new drugs, the looming drug lord and mysterious buyers – a sense of duty made her hesitate.

She was unsure if there would be another opportunity like this, or if someone else would risk their life to intrude again. Whether their crimes would be exposed to the world depended on what she could obtain this night.

With a determined grit, Song Yuhang gritted her teeth and quickly muttered something in rudimentary Burmese to the thugs in front of her, indicating she needed to use the restroom. With that, she broke away from the group.

“Supreme Lord.”

The warehouse door swung open, casting a beam of light inside, and Boss Long, who had been resting on a gas drum, also stood up.

Supported by his entourage, the elderly man slowly walked in, leaning on a cane. He was well into his senior years, completely bald, wearing dark glasses. He was not tall, even a bit diminutive, yet no one present dared to look down on him.

Boss Long, noticing the scars covering his bald head like centipedes, felt a shiver down his spine, his hands trembling. After swallowing hard, he finally regained his voice.

“This is a fifty million deposit check. I want to inspect the goods.”

Accompanied by several of his men, they surrounded Boss Long in the middle, their guns already taken away. The individuals he brought along were now flexing their fists, eyeing everyone with a predatory glare.

Kuba assisted him to sit on the other side while Tiger stood guard at the door with his gun. Another attendant brought in a birdcage from outside and placed it beside him.

Song Yuhang gently lifted the tiles on the roof.

The Supreme Lord twisted some snacks in his palm to feed his beloved pet, his face even wearing a slight smile.

“Lower your weapons, this is our esteemed guest. Come, bring the goods for Boss Long to taste.”

The guns that had been confiscated were returned to their owners, and Boss Long’s followers looked at him skeptically, then at the boss before reluctantly picking them up with his approval.

During the interval of receiving the goods, the Supreme Lord continued to feed the parrot.

“Boss Long’s business is booming in Singapore, so why did he think of coming to the mainland? Business here is not as easy.”

Seeing him relax, Boss Long finally sat down.

“Well, economies everywhere are in a downturn. Wealth and prosperity are sought amid risks.”

Both parties had already investigated each other before coming, much like how Boss Long knew the Supreme Lord was a ruthless drug lord with no hesitation in killing, while the Supreme Lord knew he was a Chinese from Singapore, the legal representative of the largest private enterprise in the country.

The Supreme Lord was selling this batch of goods to him, knowing that he could resell it at double the price, making it a win-win and highly profitable deal.

These were pieces of information that both sides were already aware of before the meeting.

Observing his fluent responses without surprise, the Supreme Lord picked up a straw and stirred the water in the birdcage’s feeding box, luring the beloved pet over to drink.

“Many years ago, I did business with your father,” the Supreme Lord snorted coldly. Seeing the parrot refusing to drink, he angrily tossed the straw into the birdcage.

“Did he compensate me with twenty million? How is he doing now?”

Boss Long opened a nearby box, revealing a neatly stacked pile of US dollars.

“To be honest, my father passed away ten years ago. I’ve heard some rumors about that incident, which was caused by some irresponsible brothers within the family. I have taken care of them.”

“This money is for the Supreme Lord as a form of apology.”

There was no business deal ten years ago; this was all a deception. However, if he were to publicly point out the Supreme Lord’s mistake, he feared he might not leave here alive today.

The old man’s lips curled into a slight smile as he took the handkerchief that Kuba handed him and wiped his hands.

“Let’s inspect the goods.”

Several cardboard boxes were brought in one by one.

Song Yuhang squinted slightly, watching as the Supreme Lord’s men opened the first box. Boss Long sneered, showing a hint of disdain.

“What is this? Coca-Cola? Don’t joke around, I’m not a convenience store vendor…”

As soon as the words fell, a child around ten years old walked in. At Kuba’s command, he picked up a bottle of drink, unscrewed the cap, and gulped it down.

After a while, a smile played at the corner of his lips, and his face flushed. He panted heavily, slightly agitated, and tugged at his clothes.

With a wave of Kuba’s hand, two big, burly men swung their fists and charged forward. A brutal punch hit the child’s chest, causing a visible collapse of the chest cavity.

The child staggered back a few steps but did not fall. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he firmly twisted one of the men’s wrists, raised his knee into the man’s stomach, causing him to hastily retreat, stumbling into a cardboard box and falling to the ground. The child swiftly advanced, his eyes bloodshot, viciously roaring as he attempted to bite the man’s throat with incredible strength.

Another lackey picked up a steel rod as thick as a thumb from the ground and smashed it towards the child’s head. The child did not dodge, hesitating for a moment as fresh blood oozed from his scalp, dropping one by one onto the floor.

Boss Long widened his eyes as he watched everything unfold before him. Just when he thought the child was dead, the child stood up, blood covering his face, and with a roar, he staggered towards the burly man.

Seemingly possessing inexhaustible energy, completely oblivious to pain.

Boss Long was shocked, witnessing the child overpowering the burly man, collapsing at his feet. The child, with bloodstained white teeth, was inches away. Boss Long recoiled, tumbling off the oil drum.

A gunshot pierced the air.

Kuba blew the smoke from the barrel of the gun and said, “Take him away.”

The limp child and the two heavily injured strong men were carried out, and the blood on the ground was quickly cleaned up, as if it had just been a nightmare.

Everything disappeared without a trace.

Boss Long swallowed hard, being helped up from the ground, while the old man burst into hearty laughter, his smile tinged with a hint of madness and triumph.

“Did you see that? This is ‘Drunken Dream No.1,’ capable of extreme excitement, madness, tirelessness, maintaining vigorous energy and a desire to attack forever, and even…”

He paused meaningfully, “an enhancement in certain abilities in that area, perfect for those wealthy big bosses.”

Song Yuhang’s chest heaved up and down as emotions surged within her, unconsciously picking at the dust on the tile with her nails.

She gritted her teeth tightly, almost unable to restrain the urge to rush in and take them down, until she tasted a hint of blood on her tongue.

Her Adam’s apple bobbed as she closed her eyes and managed to push back the difficult-to-control restlessness.

Five minutes ago.

In the bushes outside the breeding farm, a group of people silently approached.

A calm and methodical voice came through the radio channel: “Surround the entire factory premises. When the gunshots ring out, charge in and capture the Supreme Lord alive.”

“Yes, first team in position.”

“Second team in position.”

“Third team in position.”

“Fourth team in position.”

“The vantage point has been secured.”

A dark figure climbed stealthily around the blind spot in the sniper’s field of view, ascended the tower, tapped the sniper on the shoulder, and as the criminal turned around to shoot, they were knocked unconscious with a swift hand strike. A cloth was stuffed into their mouth, and handcuffs were placed on them, chaining them to the railing.
