Chapter 1182 The Players Arrive
Chapter 1182 The Players Arrive
Whoosh!
Feeling as if he'd been staring at a multitude of colors for minutes upon end, a man that had both dark brown hair and eyes immediately let out a wide sigh of relief the moment his surroundings changed…
Only to feel a wave of nausea hit him a few seconds later.
"…Urgh." Trying his best to not let the nausea get the better of him, it took the greater part of a minute for the man to eventually recover from the sensation, letting out a low sigh after the feeling of nausea was gone.
Taking in a few deep breaths after that, the man then began to look at his current surroundings in earnest.
"So, this is Greater Beyond, huh? They definitely improved the graphics compared to the beta."
With the name 'Tianshen01' hovering above his head, the man continued to admire the sights in front of him, only to then proceed moving his body according to a few set movements he had in mind.
"Not only that, but they've even improved the game's controls compared to the beta," murmured the man in slight disbelief, gradually pushing his body to its utmost limits. "I don't even feel any latency between my thoughts and my actions anymore."
"I've heard that the company got the most feedback on its latency." Just as those words left the man's mouth, a familiar voice to the man began to sound from beside him, prompting him to turn around in response.
"Belial!" Grinning at the sight of a familiar name, Tianshen let out a bit of laughter, only to then frown as a thought popped up in his mind. "Don't tell me I was the only one who experienced nausea from that startup screen."
"You're not," replied Belial, slightly shuddering as he recalled the bombardment of colors he had to endure. "Pretty sure almost everyone felt nausea from that."
"In fact, while I was making my way to where you were, I saw a few people succumb to it," continued the burly man, pointing at a place slightly far away from where they stood.
Looking at the place Belial was pointing at, Tianshen was soon greeted by the sight of some people kneeling on the ground, with most of them retching from the nausea they felt.
"You think the company intentionally did it?" Watching those people for a bit more, Tianshen eventually returned his gaze back to Belial as he asked a question.
"Probably not." Belial shook his head, sharing a piece of news he watched with him before entering the game. "The CEO himself said that it's intentionally designed that way. He said it's to make sure people perceive the game's sense of time as reality."
"Pretty sure we didn't have to go through that during the closed beta," replied Tianshen, to which Belial could only shrug his shoulders in response.
"Don't ask me," said Belial. "I only know a bit more than you do."
"We probably know just as much as everyone else." Tianshen faintly smiled at his words. "Speaking of which, Moonlight tried to bribe the company for more information on the game, yet it was as if the company's lips were sealed shut."
"In any case, I'm pretty sure this is just because it's the first time," continued the man, watching as more and more players entered Greater Beyond. "I'm getting the feeling it's only a matter of time before everyone gets used to that startup screen."
"Yeah." Belial nodded in agreement. "I'm getting the feeling that the nausea won't be as severe the second time I log in."
"Anyways, have the other three entered the game yet?"
"Astra told me she'll be running a bit late," replied Tianshen with a wry smile. "She still hasn't gotten enough copies for her organization."
"As for Moonlight and Avaris, they gave me a heads-up beforehand that they'll be entering soon enough."
"Gotcha." Belial nodded, only to then gaze at their surroundings for a brief moment.
Closing his eyes for a bit, he then began to walk around the village, leaving Tianshen with no choice but to follow beside him.
"What are you thinking?" Noticing the pensive expression on Belial's face, Tianshen asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Just taking a look at our surroundings for the meantime," said the man in response, taking note of how many players had spawned in the same village as them. "I'm getting the feeling we'll be stuck here for a while."
"Well, it's not that surprising." Tianshen nodded in agreement. "We spawned in one of the cities during the closed beta, after all."
"On the other hand, we've spawned in a village this time around. I guess the company wants to even out the playing field for those who went through the closed beta."
"I guess so." As he responded to the man's words, Belial went ahead and gave a few commands to the game's system, prompting a few screens to appear in his field of vision.
Quickly going through them to obtain a bit more information regarding their current situation, Belial soon nodded in understanding as he closed all but one of his screens not long after. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"I'm guessing you have a rough idea of what to do now?" Glancing at the remaining screen Belial left open, Tianshen went ahead and asked him with both curiosity and excitement.
"More or less," said the man in response with a slight shrug. "The planet we chose is the same as the closed beta. As for where we are… we're currently in a village named Daffors Village."
"In terms of what it could offer us, it has all of the basics needed to get started."
"As for enemies we could face to get XP, there's the wilderness outside the village, as well as a dungeon named Cave of Beginnings just a few hundred meters away from the village."
"What's the minimum level to enter the dungeon?" asked Tianshen, reining in his excitement for the meantime.
"Level 5," replied Belial. "But that's just to unlock Easy."
"Eh. We'll save the higher difficulties for later," said Tianshen in response, to which Belial soon nodded in agreement.
"So… gear ourselves up first before heading out to the wilderness? Then, try the dungeon after that?"
"Pretty much." Belial nodded, expanding the map he brought up for them to both look at. "Here's the village's smithy."
"...A bit of a journey, I see." Committing the part of the map Belial was pointing at to memory, Tianshen soon nodded at his words as the two began to make their way towards the smithy they've agreed to head to.
Though, just as they had arrived at the end of the street they were on, an inconspicuous building soon caught both of their attention.
"Say, Belial…"
"Wasn't the smithy that way?"
