Chapter 1048: The Limit

Chapter 1048: The Limit

"Haah..."

Letting out a long exhale, Valyr slowly opened his eyes sometime after feeling he'd absorbed all of the Mystic Energy in the surroundings.

Giving his eyes the time it needed to acclimate to the light once more, it was only after a while did he stand up before looking at Marcus to ask him a question.

"How much time has passed since I started absorbing Mystic Energy?"

"Hmm..." Glancing at the sky above them, the man made a few gestures with his hands before looking back at Valyr with a calm expression. "Like four hours or so."

"Really?" Valyr's eyes slightly widened in surprise, feeling like he'd been immersed in that state for far longer than four hours. "It felt like half a day passed to me."

"That's what usually happens when you're absorbing Mystic Energy," said Mystia in response to Valyr's words, prompting the latter to look in her direction. "I'm sure you've felt a sense of relief while absorbing Mystic Energy."

Nodding in response to her words, Valyr noticed that she was in the midst of forming a complex construct of some sort using pure Mystic Energy.

Though he was curious as to what she was doing, the young man decided to remain silent, even though Mystia had just shown that she had the capability to multi-task.

"Phew..." Surprisingly, the silence Valyr gave her was all she needed to finally complete the construct she was making, letting out a wide sigh of relief as she pushed the construct towards her body.

Watching as the construct of Mystic Energy was slowly being absorbed by her body, Valyr's mouth turned slightly agape as Mystia looked back at him with a slight smile. "So, how much Mystic Energy did you gain?"

In response to the question, Valyr went ahead and opened up his status screen, only to be pleasantly surprised by the fact that his Mystic Energy was only a few dozen points away from reaching 2,000.

Of course, as he was also curious on how effective absorbing Mystic Energy from the surroundings was, Valyr took it upon itself to go through the various calculations to obtain the exact value.

"1 point from the Mystic Vial, 300 from becoming a Guardian, 1,000 from the 10 Mystic Infusion Pills, and 269 from the entity I killed earlier."

"Then, factoring in the 15% boost from [Mystic Physique]..." Closing his eyes for a bit, Valyr eventually obtained the answer he was looking for.

"132 points," said the young man, looking back at Mystia with a calm smile. "I don't know if that's a lot or not."

"That's quite a lot." Hearing the amount of Mystic Energy Valyr gained in just four hours, Mystia's eyes widened in surprise as she briefly glanced back at Marcus.

Seeing the smile on the man's face as Valyr said those words, the gears in Mystia's mind began to turn as she looked back at the young man in front of her. "That's... what? 33 points of Mystic Energy an hour?"

"Honestly, that's like three times the amount of Mystic Energy I get per hour before you came around," said Mystia, letting out a sigh soon after. "Now you're making me feel like all of the time I've spent absorbing Mystic Energy was all for nothing."

"What do you mean for it's for nothing? Didn't it give you the idea for the Mystic Infusion Pill?" asked Valyr in response, committing the information Mystia gave him to memory.

"Aside from that, I only have like 2,000 points of Mystic Energy. I'm sure you have tons more than me, even more now that we could obtain Mystic Energy at a faster rate."

"Well... that's true," muttered Mystia after some time, taking in a deep breath soon after to compose herself.

Seeing as she was in deep thought, the young man briefly thought about the amount of Mystic Energy he gained, feeling that the amount he gained was decent for the amount of work he did.

Though, of course, if he were to compare it to something like the amount he obtained from killing the entity from the Extreme Toxic Plane earlier, then it was pitiful in comparison. 'Sadly, I don't think there are creatures I could kill here to gain Mystic Energy,' thought Valyr to himself, deciding to ask Marcus soon after to confirm if he could kill the creatures of the Mystic Plane to gain Mystic Energy.

Obtaining a response that killing the creatures of the plane would do nothing to improve Mystic Energy, the young man soon recalled the Shadowsource, the thing he briefly glanced at that improved his Shadow Energy gain by a few times.

'I wonder if there's a counterpart of that thing in the Mystic Plane,' muttered the young man to himself inwardly. 'Would it be called something like a Mysticsource if that were the case?'

"...Alright." Opening her eyes, Mystia let out a faint sigh of relief as she gathered her thoughts.

Shifting her gaze towards the two, she soon focused her attention towards Valyr before opening her mouth. "Since you now have an idea of how the Mystic Plane works, I suppose it's time for you to learn how to use Mystic Energy properly."

Hearing those words, Valyr looked back at her in slight confusion. "For what reason, though? Isn't it just using Mystic Energy on a skill?"

"If you plan on limiting yourself, then sure. You can go ahead and do that," replied Mystia, releasing a bit of her Mystic Energy into the surroundings. "However, recall the nature of Mystic Energy and compare it to the Shadow Energy you've encountered."

"Shadow Energy leans towards destruction..." muttered the young man to himself, only to then realize what Mystia was trying to say. "While Mystic Energy leans towards creation." "Creation. That is the keyword in using Mystic Energy properly." As those words left Mystia's mouth, she began to manipulate the Mystic Energy into various forms.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

At first, Mystia transformed the Mystic Energy she released into numerous shields that covered almost every part of her body.

Then, not long after, she transformed the Mystic Energy into a wall that both looked and felt impenetrable.

After that, she transformed the Mystic Energy into a field that gradually rejuvenated one's health, causing the young man to feel like he'd gained more energy out of nowhere.

"You only need to remember two things when using Mystic Energy." Feeling like she'd shown Valyr what Mystic Energy was more than capable of, Mystia recalled the energy back as she began to give the young man an explanation.

"The world is your canvas, and the sky is the limit."

"As long as you keep those in mind, then the Mystic Energy will bring your thoughts to

reality."
