Chapter 384: Chapter 384 - They couldn’t afford to underestimate their opponent

Someone suddenly appeared, entering the private domain and effortlessly deflecting Gremory's attack meant for Broken. But who was this mysterious figure?

"See? Hahaha," Gremory's laughter echoed through the chamber. "Now another cockroach has revealed itself... How delightful. Two extraordinary catches in one day, right?"

Broken's eyes narrowed as he focused on the cloaked figure wielding the twin daggers, shadow energy swirling around them. It was unmistakable-this had to be the same person Marlene and the others had fought a few days ago. The one they had called the Blade Phantom.

But now, for the first time, he could see more clearly-it was actually a woman, judging by her figure and the way her outfit clung to her. Even though her face was covered and no gamer name hovered above her head, there was no mistaking her presence.

"I know you've come for this man, haven't you? I've been watching you too..." Gremory sneered, her eyes narrowing. "Do you really think that with your pathetic stealth skills, you can just roam Hell as you please?"

The figure stepped back, silently positioning herself beside Broken. Then, a private message flashed before his eyes, to his shock-it was from Charmelyn.

[Charmelyn: "Broken, it's me."]

Damn, Charmelyn?! How?

His heart raced as he turned to look at her, disbelief settling in. The blood that had been binding him had loosened just enough for him to move.

[Broken: "How? Do you know how to get into Hell? Does anyone else know you're here?"] [Charmelyn: "I followed you."]

[Broken: "You snuck into this expedition? Weren't you in Slumdon? Freya confirmed that."] [Charmelyn: "I'll explain later. Right now, we need to work together to kill this demon."]

[Broken: "But you know you can't leave once you enter this domain, right?"]

[Charmelyn: "Yes, I'm aware of the risk. But two people are better than one, right? I hope you don't mind me coming to help."]

[Broken: "No, of course not. I'm just grateful you're here."]

Broken drew his Wavebreaker Spear, readying himself to face the demon. He and Charmelyn sat side by side, preparing for battle.

"So, you plan to fight me? Are you sure? I don't mind showing you just how powerful I am." Gremory said, entirely at ease.

From another direction, a shadow darted swiftly towards them, stopping at Broken's right. He and Charmelyn both turned to see a figure emerging from the darkness. What is that? It looked like someone cloaked in shadow, resembling a werewolf. But the figure had the shape of a woman.

Yes, it was Marlene, her head now covered in fur, transformed into that of a wolf, though she still wore her old outfit.

"Damn, I didn't want to do this," Charmelyn muttered under her breath. "But you forced my hand, Broken. You owe me a lot, you know!"

Broken smiled at her unexpected arrival. "Yet, here you are anyway," he replied. "And you do realize you can't leave this place unless we kill the demon in front of us, right?"

"Yes," Marlene replied. "I'll make sure to kill that demon first, then I'll deal with the bitch standing next to you."

"Don't get ahead of yourself," Charmelyn shot back. "Do you really think you can pull that off?"

"Let's see when all this is over," Marlene said with a smirk. "And... are you Charmelyn from the Ass Guild? I can't think of anyone else you could be."

"You're curious about my identity? Why don't you try forcing me to reveal it?" Charmelyn replied.

"Oh, I will. I'll make you show your true face and kill you over and over until you regret ever crossing me," Marlene snarled.

Broken sighed heavily. "Can you both save the fight for later? There's a Named Demon standing right in front of us," he reminded them, trying to keep the situation from spiraling.

"She made a huge mistake sneaking into this expedition. Do you think I'm just going to let that slide?" Marlene snapped.

"That's because you're too stupid to stop anyone from doing it," Charmelyn shot back.

"Enough, please... save the bickering for later," Broken insisted, trying to break the tension before it got worse. "We need to focus on the real threat."

Their attention shifted back to Gremory.

"So, are you still planning to fight amongst yourselves?" Gremory's voice dripped with amusement. "That would only make this more entertaining for me. Because, I'm quite sure all of you are Divine Champions. Isn't that something special?" A thin smile spread across her face.

"Divine Champion?"

Broken, Charmelyn, and Marlene echoed the words in unison, their confusion mirrored in the way they exchanged puzzled glances.

"I know I'm a Divine Champion," Marlene said. "Specifically, the Gluttony Champion. It's not exactly a secret—I've even made it public. But...?"

She turned her gaze toward Broken and Blade Phantom.

"Yes... anyone would suspect that you, too, are likely a Divine Champion, Broken," she continued.

Broken let out a sigh but remained silent.

In Immortal Legacy, it was well-known that each of the seven sins had already chosen their Divine Champions from the players, five for each sin. Only Sloth had selected just one

Champion so far, and that was Broken.

However, not all Divine Champions had revealed their identities to the public. The exception was the Gluttony Champions, all five of whom were widely known. Beyond that, almost half remained shrouded in mystery. Some players had claimed to be Divine Champions but needed to reveal which sin they represented, leaving their true allegiance uncertain. "But..." Marlene continued, her gaze hard. "That bitch is a Divine Champion too?"

"How can we trust anything this demon says?" Broken asked.

"Surely you're not trying to deny it, are you, Broken?"

But Charmelyn... a Divine Champion?

It had always been believed that no one in the Assassins' Guild held the title of Divine Champion. At least, that was the case until recently-when rumors began to surface about the possibility of stealing or transferring the Divine Champion status from one person to

another.

Could Charmelyn have done that? His mind raced with the possibility. If the rumors were true, it would explain the unsettling situation. But how-and why-would she have done such a

thing?

Broken never expected this twist. But seeing her here now did offer some relief. At the very least, there was one person in this place he felt he could somewhat trust. After all, Charmelyn had once saved him from Marlene's pursuit after he'd claimed victory in the Fight Club Tower. In this situation, though, trust was not a luxury-they had no choice but to rely on one another. Despite facing a Named Demon ranked 56th, they had something others didn't: all three of them were Divine Champions, with powers far beyond the average player.

They actually had a shot at winning!

"Let's put this argument aside. Can we actually work together this time?" Broken asked, his

voice steady as he looked between Charmelyn and Marlene.

"I'll do my best, no matter what happens," Marlene replied. "But I'm not sure she can

cooperate."

Charmelyn shot back, "Shut up, or I'll make you shut up, wolf!"

Marlene growled at the insult, ready to lunge, but Broken quickly stopped her with his right

hand.

"Now, both of you, listen to me!" he commanded. "We need to win! Forget whatever issues you have with each other. We'll settle that later!"

The three of them steeled themselves, knowing this battle would push them to their limits. Everyone knew they had to go all out from the very start. Their opponent was on a much higher level, and this fight would be anything but easy.

"We have no choice but to give everything we've got. I'll be going all-out too. Let's end this quickly," he said firmly.

No one responded, but he pressed on. "Now, I'm taking over as the caller. Everyone, follow

my lead."

He could sense the awkward tension between Charmelyn and Marlene. If this encounter had happened under different circumstances, there was no doubt the two would be fighting each

other with everything they had.

But now, they couldn't afford to underestimate their opponent.

"Now, we start," Broken said, his voice steady.

Broken summoned everything he had, and the room was soon filled with his creatures. His

body began to glow with a blue aura as he gripped his spear tightly. He spun the weapon, charging forward at full speed, leading the attack. Charmelyn and Marlene, in her werewolf form, followed closely behind him.
