Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 990 The different sides

[Eon's POV: ]

'Rein has invaded Quin's territory and her goal this time would be to take down at least one of the major damage dealers from their side.'

They can come and block her but they won't be able to save their dealers if they put up the other people on the front.

'Since every one of us will get transported elsewhere if they receive a certain amount of direct damage, if they want to preserve their forces as much as possible, they will have to survive against her first attack.'

They knew how dangerous she was so Quin will either have to come out herself and deal with her, or she will have to send out Chry of Alf.

'Regardless of who she sends, she should know that she won't be able to fight her off or trap her or even make some kind of deal with her.'

Rein went there to deal with them and they know that. Their watchers must be watching her already since she wasn't using any concealment this time, and they will have to do something to deal with her.

'It's going to be interesting to see what kind of strategy Quin uses this time. If she knew Rein, she would know how dealing with her would be near impossible.'

Minimising their losses should be their priority, but if they aren't doing that, they would have to face the consequences…

'She went there just to deal with a few, but if the opportunity presents itself, if Quin makes a mistake, Rein wouldn't hesitate to demolish their entire base.'

That one simple bunch was nothing more than a plaything for her.

They know how she was a strong mage, but what only Alf, Chry, and Quin knows is the true strengths that Rein has.

'She had her spells, she had her weapons, and she was going to show her Scythe skills as well.'

She was a mage but she had learned Scythe handling for this entire academic year, so everyone knows how she is scary with that big scythe in her hand as well.

So… she's going to be a difficult opponent for Quin and all. That much was clear.

[{ "Mister Lucifer! What are we supposed to do now?!" }]

[{ "Tell the first battalion to fall back. Hold down the current position and let the archers fire the arrows." }]

[{ "…" }]

The captain, Maslow, was relying on the commands that I wanted him to give out to the rest of the team on the battlefield.

'After spreading out the entire team of around a hundred eighty into nine different teams consisting of different individuals with different abilities.

They were the nine battalions, Rein was part of the first battalion and aside from her, there were six more from our side who were part of this battalion.

'Eula was in charge of the second battalion and she was leading the biggest group towards the third nearest group with the aim to eradicate them completely.'

She was a holy knight so not only did she have a bunch of large scale healing skills, she also had large scale Debuff skills thanks to her blessing.

'She was very close with the Moonlight goddess Diya. A rather small religion that was mainly famous in the north, she was blessed by the goddess and possessed skills that most other people of the same religion do not.'

That aside, she was naturally fostered into a battle machine.

Her sword and shield handling skills were nothing less than Chry's sword handling skills.

She was strong and she had been on the battlefield ever since she was a ten year old so she had perhaps seen more blood than most of the students of our class combined.

'Perhaps the reason she was in Dark society was also because of her unique background.'

She was strong, and at the same time, she followed Rein as closely as a knight followed their masters.

'She has mistaken Rein's innate darkness as something that was the closest thing to her god that she had seen. And even though Rein has explained it many times, she doesn't listen to her.'

Not only as her vice captain but also as a close follower of hers, Nebula has a weirdly deep trust in her. And, on a battlefield, that's a good thing.

'She assumed the role of the commander willingly and went off with the big force to thin out the competition.'

She was taking on the less threatening group so that we can preserve our own numbers, but unlike Rein who was only going to give a threatening blow to her targets, Eula was going to eradicate everything in her path.

Ball had a different task assigned to him so he was with his own group, and I was at the back, on the steep wall watching over everything present here with my eyes.

Not everyone knew about the {Three eyes} skill, but mostly everyone knew how good my eyes were thanks to the many common classes that we have had until now.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

'Those who knew about Celes also knew I was watching everything, listening to everything closely.'

With eyes that could see the entire battlefield, and with ears that roamed the entire battlefield, the role of (Watcher) would have suited me better.

But, if I can do something like that without putting in much effort, there is no need to assume a role that someone else could handle well anyway.

'With me here, we didn't really need a watcher but we still gave that role to someone that had a fine affinity for details and contrast.'

We gave them a special artifact provided to us commonly, something similar to a hand binoculars just that this one was a simple square glass.

"We are in the south."

Zoe is in the north.

Quin is in the southwest, while Prince Alph is in the east.

Tia is on the northeastern side so they are going to have a fun time there, and with many smaller teams all around them, they are going to have fun cleaning up a little and warming up before the big battle.

'There are mainly six teams that might be the last standing teams which will fight for the central plains.'

My team, Zoe's team, Tia if they get past the northern forces, Prince Alph, Mia, and lastly… well, that last team is still debatable.

Captain Alpha is amazing, but he would have to show everything he has hidden until now if he wants to win this battle, and Luna is a force of nature, so if we want to win, the rest of us might have to stop her getting anywhere near the centre plains.

It could be anyone from some other team as well, Bjorn- Prince Alph's vice captain- was leading a team of his own while Chry's captain was doing the same.

Most of them were on the ground below this steep wall, but aside from me, there were still some present on this ridge.

[{ "Any plans to go down and do what you're supposed to do as a 'Student'?" }]

[{ "I can do that from here as well, vice headmaster." }]

The teachers were here, though, they were so far away from me that I don't think some of them could see me standing here either.

Some know I'm still here, like the vice headmaster, but the rest are still oblivious to the fact.

[{ "That's no fun, Lucifer. Just go down. You can use your arrows from down there as well. At least let the rest of them see what cool you can do… don't make me throw you down myself." }]

I wasn't the only student that was still up here, but the rest who were here were following their own strategies.

They were here with groups, while I was the only one from my group that was still here. Not many from my own team knew I was here either, but they will soon figure it out.

[{ "I cannot go down, vice headmaster. Besides, I'm not going to use arrows this time in the first place." }]

[{ "Hmmm?" }]

Rein was fighting Alf… it was a wise choice from Quin's side. And it was good that Alf understood how he needed to be the one to do that.

The two mages will have fun fighting, so…

-Oooooooooong!

I took out the weapon that I was going to use for this war as well.

-Tak.

-Qwaaaaa-chak!

[{ "You… no way you're going to use that here…" }]

[{ "I am doing it. That's the whole point of staying on the highest point." }]

Mak-12 FK (Prototype).

It was a (Magic Sniper) that I was still working on based on the basic magic snipers used in the (Xipe-Shooting) game famous throughout the west.

[{ "You should look forward to this, vice headmaster. This is going to be a prototype testing." }]

It wasn't finished yet. There was still a lot of work needed for this Sniper— something that will become a weapon of mass destruction.

'No one was going to see this thing on the battlefields anytimes soon but, it's going to change how people perceive the (Ace) of an army.'

-Khw—chak!

Placing the stand on the ground, fortifying the area around me, and getting into a strong position, I gathered my Aura.

My past life had not been very eventful. I did what I was indoctrinated to do before I understood what I was actually doing, and then I lived a life of solitude working in various fields.

I have seen my fair share of blood, I have spilled most of it with my own hands, but… all that isn't relevant to me here.

I'm Axion Heliox Kromet… I am Lucifer.

I am a different person.

And… this is a different battlefield.
