Book 6: Chapter 43:2: One Goddess Causing Many Problems, Part 2
“Big Brother, can you stop the black hole?” Satou Kazuma asked, turning to Chen Heng. To his surprise, he found Chen Heng holding a fiery red orb, which had appeared at some point in time. Kazuma felt no heat, even from such close proximity.
Holding the Coronatite core, Chen Heng seemed distracted, oblivious to Satou Kazuma’s words.
“Huh? Oh, yes.” Only after Satou Kazuma shouted did Chen Heng respond. He sealed the Coronatite in multiple layers and placed it in his spatial storage.
Chen Heng had extracted the Coronatite from the Destroyer with his spatial ability the moment the black hole consumed the robot.
He wasn’t worried his ancestral necklace wouldn’t be able to contain the Coronatite that was close to exploding. After all, even the Four Immortal Executioner Swords obediently remained in it. He wondered if the Coronatite could power one of the swords.
In fact, when Chen Heng asked for the Coronatite, he wanted it for the Four Immortal Executioner Swords, hoping to use the Coronatite as an energy source to drive one of the four swords.
Chen Heng did not expect the Coronatite to power all the Four Immortal Executioner Swords; he would already be happy with bringing out just a portion of one of the four swords’ might.
In the current situation, the Coronatite’s energy fluctuation even shocked Chen Heng. It truly lived up to being a legendary rare ore that could burn eternally.
As for connecting the Coronatite and the swords, while he had learned a little about forging equipment, this was beyond his expertise. He could not accomplish such a difficult thing for now and could only rely on the omnipotent Dimension Administrators Association.
Chen Heng would only think of the Dimension Administrators Association’s store at such times. What a scumbag, right?
He would turn to the Dimension Administrators Association’s store in times of need and ignore the casual chats. This was how he treated the Dimension Administrators Association.
“Big Brother, the black hole…about the black hole…” Satou Kazuma pointed at the still-raging black hole outside the city walls. It might have been his misperception, but it seemed to have grown slightly.
“Oh, right. The black hole.” Chen Heng finally reacted to Satou Kazuma’s promptings. Then he extended his right hand and clenched it. Following that, the black hole shrank rapidly, soon turning into a ball the size of a basketball.
With a flick, he sent it soaring into the distant sky.
After three seconds, a massive explosion flashed from the direction of the ball. The sound followed ten seconds later, deafening even from such a distance.
Boom!
This wasn’t a real black hole, just something Chen Heng had simulated with his ability. Everything sucked into it was compressed to its limit, rather than simply disappearing, before Chen Heng detonated it.
Chen Heng only had to add a little something to the small ball, and the black hole exploded. It looked like the explosion was quite powerful.
Chen Heng patted the nonexistent dust off his hands before addressing his dumbfounded companions. “Alright. Let’s go. Off to the Adventurer’s Guild; the problem is settled.”
------
“Help, Kazuma! Help! I’m going to get eaten!” Aqua sprinted ahead, three Giant Toads hot on her heels.
“Aqua, hang on! I’ll deal with the one that swallowed Megumin first!” While Aqua begged for Satou Kazuma’s help, he had no time to help her.
He was busy battling the Giant Toad that had gulped down Megumin, whose legs were still dangling outside.
“Come at me! I’m ready for this…erotic wet play!” Although Satou Kazuma could not spare time to save Aqua, Darkness bravely stepped forward to face the two remaining Giant Toads chasing Aqua.
Darkness would not permit her party members to get injured in front of her. (Hah! Hah! Bring on the attacks! Go harder!)
Then Darkness got swallowed.
“Help! Help! Kazuma, save me! Hurry!” Initially, three Giant Toads were chasing Aqua. As one had swallowed Darkness and could no longer move, only two Giant Toads continued after her.
“I’m coming!” After ten seconds, Kazuma successfully eliminated the Giant Toad that had swallowed Megumin. Then he rushed to eliminate the other three Giant Toads without resting.
------
“I say, Kazuma, are all your adventures this chaotic?” Chen Heng asked, lounging on a rock and eyeing the exhausted team of four that had just faced several Giant Toads.
“No, no, this was just a one-time mishap. Big Brother, trust me!” Satou Kazuma protested, though his worn-out appearance wasn’t convincing. The other three simply lay on the grass, covered in sticky fluid.
“…” Chen Heng looked at the four people in front of him, feeling a headache impending. But to be honest, each one of them was incredibly skilled in their own right.
Darkness: A top-tier crusader, her defensive abilities were off the charts. She invested most of her skill points in defense and often boasted that her body was tougher than stone. In fact, in Kazuma’s team, her life force and defensive strength were unparalleled.
However, her clumsiness was her downfall. She had practically no offensive prowess; she often missed her targets, even stationary ones.
Assessment: A reliable tank but one that doesn’t strike back.
Aqua: A top-of-the-line arch priestess. Her strength rivaled that of high-ranking melee classes. Even explosive magic couldn’t harm her, thanks to her endless holy mana. However, her luck and intelligence were notably low.
Assessment: An idiot. A human water purifier.
Megumin: An elite arch wizard, she possessed immense mana and was a prodigious user of explosion magic.
Unfortunately, she could use her explosion magic only once a day.
Assessment: A woman not built for endurance.
All in all, the strength of Kazuma’s team was that they had no weaknesses. But paradoxically, their biggest weakness was that they lacked notable strengths.
On their own, each member had their shortcomings, practically trash. Yet, with Kazuma, a man both lucky and somewhat clever, the team was oddly effective.
Kazuma’s luck was legendary, second only to that of Eris, the goddess of fortune, and her alter ego, Chris.
[TL Note: Eris is a goddess junior to Aqua and much more popular in the world. She takes on an alter ego, Chris, when she descends to the world. Here is more information on her: /wiki/Eris.]
This part was very important.
