Chapter 112: An Element's Return
Chapter 112: An Element's Return
Shen Rong excitedly and enthusiastically held out something which made everyone's attention focus on it, or rather, whatever those things are.
After a few seconds, however, everybody shook their heads since they didn't have any idea what it was. The majority of the audience turned their heads and asked each other if they knew what the objects were but no one had any idea and as such, all questions were responded to with shrugs and shaking of heads.
Even Liu Zhi and the others had no idea what the objects were.
The objects were shaped like orbs and they were of clear glass-like color. There was nothing special about them but as for me, I knew what they are. I just encountered them a few days earlier so perfectly am aware of what those orbs were for. They may look plain but their usefulness is akin to epic and mythical treasures.
That's why, as for me, my reaction was a little different compared to those. Adding the fact that I didn't know where Shen Rong got a perfect number ten of those orbs, I was a bit surprised, which made me exclaim my heart out.
"ELEMENTAL ORBS!" I exclaimed before I realized what I've done.
Shen Rong held the ten elemental orbs a little bit higher as he smiled towards me. There was a hint of surprise in his eyes but he quickly regained his composure as he continued on with the announcement. "Someone here is knowledgeable." He said as the majority of the audience stared at me with great curiosity.
Aside from the audience, I received suspicious stares from Yang Mei Mei and Liu Zhi's party the moment I spoke up. Liu Zhi's party could tell that I was only a little bit older than Yang Mei Mei. That's why they were surprised at how I knew about the items when they haven't seen any of them in their life.
"First, I would like to explain what the uses of these elemental orbs are. After that, you will understand why we'd have to change the rules of the Red Sea Tournament this year." Shen Rong continued. He was glad that everyone was finally paying attention. At first, I think he wasn't sure if anyone would believe him if he explained it just like that. But seeing that I knew of it, he probably gained more confidence in informing everyone about it.
"These orbs may look normal but if you tried to detect its Qi Energy, boundless Qi Energy leaks out from them. These aren't just ordinary orbs. In fact, they are so rare that I only ever stumbled upon it after clearing a high-leveled dungeon. I got twenty of these orbs but I've already used it."
Shen Rong then raised his other hand and extended it towards the sky. There was a brief pause before the clouds darkened and the sun which was just there disappeared in an instant. The whitish clouds began darkening in color as the skies became heavier.
And then, the lightning began.
Not just any lightning, but purple lightning!
Everyone gasped in awe as the purple lightning streaked from the skies and continuously struck the arena down below. The power in it was so strong that not only sparks flew off the arena, but the arena was set on fire as well.
When it comes to elements, there are the common ones which are the elements in nature. However, elements such as glass, sand, purple lightning, and poison elements are all a mixture of two natural elements together. For example, having both the earth and fire element would enable one to learn the Glass Element. Having both the earth and wind element would enable one to learn sand... and that's how it goes.
As for purple lightning, it's a mixture of both the fire and lightning elements. I'm not sure what element Shen Rong got from the elemental orb but it's a given that it's one of the two elements he has right now I mean, aside from the Blood Element, of course.
Wait, does he have the Blood Element? Does anyone who has a Virus Qi Core automatically gets the Blood Element?
"As you can see, I only had the fire element before. But thanks to the elemental orb, I was able to manifest one of the most powerful and advantageous elements out there the Purple Lightning." Shen Rong puffed his chest proudly. "That's right, having ten of these orbs would grant anyone any natural element they like!"
There were a series of murmurs that followed when Shen Rong announced something so baffling. Orbs that could grant someone an element? Isn't that basically a cheat? Is he trolling with us?
Sigh~ it was easy what everyone was thinking. In the presence of an unknown item, people are bound to be doubtful and unaccepting. That's basically the normal reaction.
"How do we know that you're speaking the truth?"
"Yeah! Some famous cultivators have three or more elements with them. How do we know that you're not messing with us?"
"That's right!"
"Prove it! Prove it!"
"This is BS!"
"Prove it! Prove it!"
Shen Rong's expression tensed as he heard the people jeering at him. It was clear that he was driven into a corner. Of course, there was no way he could prove it to them. Judging from his expression, the ten elemental orbs he was holding was the last ones he has. If he were to prove to everyone that it works, that means he would have to use the elemental orbs to himself and then... there won't be any point to the Red Sea Shelter.
"Ingrates," I muttered to myself as I stood up. No matter how I look at it, they won't lose anything if they just believed shelter leader. And even if he was lying, it's on him. All the blame would be on him.
Honestly, these people are just so narrow-minded.
I flew up and stood up in front of Shen Rong, grabbed the Elemental Orbs from him, and extended my hands for everyone to see. "You won't lose anything if you just believed him, you know. If he was lying, then it would all be his fault. You have nothing to lose. And were there any instances where Shen Rong lied to everyone during a Red Sea Tournament?"
Those who were complaining suddenly stopped but they were still not convinced.
Well, there was one thing left for me to do.
Without further ado, I returned Shen Rong's elemental orbs to him and I got mine from my inventory. Everybody was shocked to see me hold the very same elemental orbs. Right now, they were probably wondering where I got them, assuming that they work just like how Shen Rong described it.
"Yong Rui, where did you get those?" Shen Rong almost stuttered as he stared wide-eyed at my Elemental Orbs. There were exactly ten of them as well so he was even more perplexed.
"This? I was saving it up but I think now's the right time to use it. This explains why I know a lot about Elemental Orbs, right, shelter leader?" I casually but respectfully said as I turned around and faced the majority of the audience.
Shen Rong's lips parted into a smile as he realized what I was doing. Instead of sacrificing his elemental orbs to prove it to everyone, I took the torch from him to do what needs to be done.
And also, I badly wanted my main element to return to me. Man how I missed my main element! I mean, it's been five years!
"If you checked my Qi Energy, and I'm going to release it now, you will notice that I don't have any element. That alone would be proof enough that these Elemental Orbs work. After I use it, I will show you my Wind Element." I called out.
<Notice: Would you like to use Ten Elemental Orbs?>
<Yes/No>
"Yes,"
<Please choose the element you like to obtain: Earth/ Fire/ Ice/ Lightning/ Water/ Wind/ Plant>
Suddenly, an outburst of Qi Energy erupted within my body as the ten Elemental Orbs I was holding were absorbed by my Original Qi Core. My once stabilized Original Qi Core expanded once again, making me writhe in pain as I tried to condense my Original Qi Core. Fortunately, the absorption of the Elemental Orbs didn't take long and it became easier for me to condense my Qi Core. After a few seconds, my Original Qi Core was back to normal but this time, there was a hint of bluish, sort of whitish, color swimming around my Qi Core.
I know what that color represented. To put it simply, the Elemental Orbs worked and I finally have my Wind Element.
<Congratulations! You've obtained the Wind Element!>
<Your Wind Element has reached its maximum level.>
Figures, that's my main element back then. I would be more surprised if my Wind Element didn't return to me. I mean, the Wind Element basically embodies my blood, sweat, and tears as I went through hardships while cultivating. Even then, the Wind Element was always there for me, and such is the case now. My Wind Element has returned.
I raised my hands once more and brought it down with such force. Suddenly, a huge gust of wind blew the fire away from the arena and almost blew all the audience away. Aside from that, because I put too much force into it, a huge tornado appeared in the arena.
Well, I might have put a bit too much force into it...
