Chapter 34
C34 – Wen Lang Left
Observing Qi Ning’s defensive stance, Wen Lang didn’t rush in immediately. Instead, he maneuvered around Qi Ning, seeking the right moment to attack and pinpointing any weaknesses in Qi Ning’s defense.
After roughly a minute, Wen Lang thought he spotted a vulnerability in Qi Ning’s guard. Brandishing his dagger, he charged at Qi Ning. Unbeknownst to Wen Lang, Qi Ning had deliberately exposed this apparent flaw.
Despite Wen Lang’s swift movements, Qi Ning tracked them with ease. Just as Wen Lang closed in, Qi Ning, who had been on the defensive, made his move. His figure flashed, and with a speed that left Wen Lang feeling hopeless, Qi Ning appeared behind him.
Clutching an ashtray, Qi Ning brought it crashing down on Wen Lang’s back.
“Not good!” Wen Lang tried to dodge, but there was no space to evade the blow.
As the ashtray struck Wen Lang’s back, he collapsed to the ground. Seizing the moment of Wen Lang’s disorientation, Qi Ning stepped firmly onto the hand that gripped the dagger.
Wen Lang attempted to resist, but the force of Qi Ning’s foot convinced him to abandon the struggle.
Wen Lang cried out as the ashtray hit precisely on his hand holding the dagger, though Qi Ning had restrained his strength.
”Do you concede?” Qi Ning asked, towering over Wen Lang.
A look of dejection spread across Wen Lang’s face.
“I concede,” he said, his voice tinged with defeat.
Qi Ning lifted his foot from Wen Lang and took possession of both daggers.
He idly twirled the daggers in his hands, his gaze settling on Xu Linshan, who was overwhelmed with despair, uncertain of who could come to his aid.
Fu Nian, sharing Xu Linshan’s sense of hopelessness, was contemplating the same question.
“Five million. I don’t care how you get it,” Qi Ning stated icily.
At that point, Xu Linshan, having lost all will to resist, nodded in resignation, his courage shattered by Qi Ning.
“Ning, I was wrong,” Fu Nian seized his chance, falling to his knees before Qi Ning, tears streaming down his face.
Qi Ning simply looked on, expressionless, offering no response.
He glanced back at Wen Lang, still lying on the ground, then turned and walked out of Joy KTV.
Upon arriving home, he slumped onto his bed, utterly exhausted.
As he reflected on the day’s harrowing events, he felt a surge of fear wash over him.
“If it weren’t for the system, this whole thing might have been over by now,” Qi Ning whispered to himself.
The night passed.
The next morning, Qi Ning rose early.
He had planned to head to the square for some exercise, but as he opened his front door, he was surprised to find Wen Lang standing there.
“What do you want?” Qi Ning asked, adopting a defensive posture and eyeing Wen Lang with suspicion.
He was inwardly alarmed. The fact that Wen Lang had managed to find his doorstep was definitely not a good sign.
“This is for you,” said Wen Lang, his face etched with sorrow.
After handing Qi Ning the bank card, he turned to leave.
Watching Wen Lang’s forlorn departure, Qi Ning couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
He refrained from saying, “Why don’t you join me?”
