Chapter 361: Chapter 361 – Experienced Player Now
"M – Breeze!"
"Don't mind me. Kill all zombies you find and focus on looting. I can handle this alone."
Max shouted back as he dodged the incoming Rocket. It passed him and went to the end of the hallway, crashing against the wall.
"Then at least take this!" Lily shouted and threw something at him.
Catching it, he found a flashbang in his hand. It was useful.
"Thanks!"
After hearing him, Lily nodded and ran in the other direction, disappearing into the darkness.
He stood up and looked at Rocket. The Infected was ready to rush like a bull again to crush him into a paste.
However, he was calm. He put the flashbang in his backpack and took out his handgun, holding it in his left hand. Even though it was useless against Rocket, it would help when zombies appeared to bother him.
"Come, big shit. I have killed you once and know your weakness. This will be eas–"
Before he could finish his sentence, Rocket propelled itself with his arm. It was spinning in mid-air, doing the famous spin attack that pulverized everything in its way.
Seeing this, Max dodged immediately, jumping down to the first floor through the hole the Infected created before. He wasn't afraid it would chase after Lily. After all, he had gained its aggro after taunting it.
Just as he had expected…
Crash! Thud!
Rocket dropped down with a heavy thud, following him. The Blobbies around the hallway near the stairs were crushed at once. It was growling like a child, dragging its heavy arm as it approached him.
The spinning attack was strong. However, the Infected couldn't use it repeatedly. It probably also damaged its body. That was why it moved slower than before.
Bam! Clang!
Max fired a shot at its head, but it blocked it with its giant arm. The sound was like a bullet hitting a metal and bouncing away.
"No use, eh? As expected, this is still surprising." He said as he gripped his knife tighter. He rushed toward Roket fearlessly.
In response, the Infected raised its arm. It knew that Max was getting closer. And when it saw him in its range, it swung its hand down without mercy.
Swoosh!
Due to its size and the gravity's pull, the fist was fast. It also brought all its force that could destroy a wall in one punch.
However…
"It's too simple!"
Max stopped before he reached Rocket and jumped back. The fist made contact with the floor and shook the area. Blood burst from the veins that popped out from the Infected's arm, paralyzing it for a second.
Using this chance, Max dived once again and threw a cylindrical thing behind him. The pin was released, and a bright light filled the area along with a deafening sound.
"Hauuurr!" Rocket screamed in pain as it stepped back slightly.
As it screamed, its mouth was wide open. Max, with a precision that was similar to a professional baseball pitcher, threw a grenade straight into its mouth. It entered perfectly.
Rocket couldn't take the grenade that lodged into its mouth. Its one arm was too small, while the other was too big. As a result…
Boom!
The grenade exploded and scattered its head alongside its weakness, its brain.
"Bam!" Max made a pose and watched as Rocket decayed into nothingness.
— Damn, it's faster than before
— He got used to VR and has the equipment necessary to kill it. That's why it's faster
— He's not using knife-only this time lol
— Handgun is useless, but he fires it either way to make Rocket raise its hand. Truly, a good strategy
— That was a bit anticlimactic, but I like fast battles too
"Indeed. I am now getting used to VR World and can move pretty fast inside. I think I will be able to solo Turret without any problem too."
It wasn't just a baseless confidence.
Unlike his first month playing, he had gotten used to how he should move and could stay in VR World way longer. His estimation told him that he could probably play for around 6 hours without any problem, 8 hours if he drank a B-Grade Nutritional Supplement.
His experience in VR World allowed him to move better than when he confronted Turret, the centipede Infected, at that time.
— We believe in you
— Well, you've got the experience, I admit that
— If you don't do better compared to that time, I would call you cheating lol
— People grow with time. We all turn into an adult and our experiences grow. However, my status will stay as Maidenless
— Good good. You've grown pretty well. Blood God is satisfied.
"Hahaha." Max laughed as he read the chat, "Now, let's meet up with Lily. I wonder if she's alright up there."
Max headed for the second floor again and went to where Lily went. As he walked down the dark corridor, he could hear occasional gunshots in the distance. It seemed like his girlfriend confronted something that needed her to use the handgun.
Based on his understanding of her skill, she would only need to use it when she either got surrounded or faced a strong enemy, like an Infected. He didn't know her situation at all, but the chat was different.
— Breeze! Go help LilyPixel! She's in danger!
— What are you standing there for, stooped boyfriend? Your girlfriend is in danger! Help her. QUICK!
— THIS IS SERIOUS!
— No joke at all. Go right now!
— FULL SPEED AHEAD!
The urgency that was brought by unknown viewers that suddenly appeared in the chat seemed serious. Max didn't think for long and sprinted at full speed toward the direction of the gunshot.
After running at full speed for a while, he arrived at a slightly large room that looked like a waiting room. The ground and the ceiling were half destroyed. Holes could be seen here and there. Smaller holes could be seen around the larger ones, these were from bullets.
Standing in the middle of the room, with a knife and a handgun in her hands, Lily looked around with full attention. She noticed him almost immediately and shouted.
"Watch out!"
"Kikikiki!"
As soon as she said that, something appeared from the hole near his feet. A small figure with a scythe-like hand and a sharp head like a drill could be seen crackling madly.
And as soon as he noticed it, the Infected swung its sharp hand at his legs.
Swoosh!
