Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 402 Calling For Reinforcements

While Diana was asking for reinforcement from Shane, Sandra immediately flew up with his Flight Talent.

It didn't take long before she realized the enemy reinforcements had met with the person who had just escaped. Then, with her Enhanced Vision fully activated, she confirmed the number of enemies…

"Not good…" She whispered.

From the depths of the valley, thirty more figures emerged, each one armed with rifles together with talismans on their bodies.

She initially thought that these people were fully relying on their talismans. She didn't expect that they could amass such a huge number of assault rifles.

From this, she confirmed that their clan was definitely a huge one, and they also had someone with an Epic or Legendary Talent that could help them acquire hundreds of mystical paper talismans.

As soon as she returned to the ground, she immediately reported what she had just seen.

The leader of the 'bandit group' had returned, and he was not alone. His reinforcements marched in formation like true soldiers… Each one was carrying an array of talismans and rifles.

Even with two Legendary Recruits, they weren't confident of surviving this one without any casualties.

"Looks like they've got an endless supply of those things," Gregor grunted. Those Paper Talismans that could magically summon chains and fireballs were truly a problem.

Facing a dozen of Fireballs might not be life-threatening, but more than twenty of them coming at the same time would still eat up all of his Aura, and his life would surely be in danger.

Nonetheless, he had to protect his young miss. Although he could probably escape if he started running now, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he allowed his master to die here.

"Let them come…"

He then tightened his grip on his axe, readying himself for another fight.

"Then, let's kill them all!" Kaela exclaimed, her eyes also focused on the approaching crowd. She already realized they were outnumbered, and they would most likely die here.

However, other than fighting, she had no other way of resolving this situation. She just had to fight to her death. She believed that she would be able to take down most of them before she perished.

Seeing their loyal recruits, Diana and Sandra immediately felt overwhelmed with gratitude. But they couldn't just waste their life here.

"Wait… We need to escape. We can't stand and fight this time!"

Diana felt the weight of their situation pressing down on her.

"We need to retreat. We can't risk being overwhelmed," she said as she looked at her map, finding a better path to escape.

Sandra nodded… "It's not too late to kill them later. We'll regroup and find a better position. We can't let them have the upper hand again."

"Let's go!" Diana ordered while her heart pounded as they turned to flee… They were outnumbered, and it wasn't shameful to run away from these enemies.

They dashed through the valley, but their fleeing figures were still caught by the enemies.

Behind them, the familiar voice of that hateful leader rang out. His voice was filled with triumph and contempt for his targets.

"Run, you cowards! You can't escape me! This time, you will face the full force of my clan!"

The ground shook as the reinforcements unleashed a barrage of paper talismans from the distance. They probably have zero confidence hitting them with their rifles, so they used their mystical talismans instead.

Soon, the air was filled with the whistling sound of fiery projectiles.

Diana and her group sprinted, dodging the chaos that erupted behind them.

Boom! Boom! Boom!Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Fireballs exploded against the ground, sending debris flying, and some chains snaked through the air, barely missing their targets.

Thanks to Gregor and Kaela staying behind, they were able to protect Diana and Sandra. Of course, now that Silence was no longer affecting them, Diana could use her new Skills to protect herself but it would last very long.

They still have to be worried about their Spirit Points being depleted.

"Keep moving!" Diana shouted, leading the charge as they navigated the unfamiliar terrain.

After almost an hour of running, they reached a narrow pass. The group quickly ducked behind a rocky ledge, taking a moment to gather their thoughts.

"We can't keep running forever," Kaela panted, scanning the area for a possible escape route. "We need to turn this around."

"We need to regroup and come up with a strategy," Gregor added, his chest heaving. "They won't stop until they have us."

These two Legendary Recruits were getting exhausted as time passed. They felt that it was better to spend their energy fighting instead of running. After all, it would be too late to fight if their Aura was completely depleted.

Diana nodded as she also understood that… However, it was just too difficult to fight against this many enemies equipped not just with high-caliber weapons but also those mystical paper talismans.

Furthermore, since they were always being followed, he believed that there were also some talented scouts among their group, and it would be tough to set up an ambush against them.

"Shane confirmed that he's hurrying to our location… Let's just hold out for now…" Diana said as she took out her Tier 3 Armored Sentinel Set and gave it to Gregor.

This set was a reward she received together with the other members of the team after they cleared the Fourth Stage. To be exact, it was part of the reward for being the first team to clear the fourth stage.

Initially, they had no use for this since the armor set was heavy and wouldn't suit their battle style at all.

However, it was different for Gregor, who had a very high Strength Status.

"Isn't it more appropriate for you to wear this? I have my Aura to protect myself." Gregor said.

"You need this more than I do right now. You'll be the one in front." Diana said.

"That sounds true but…" Gregor still hesitated since he felt that Diana was just too fragile.

"I'll be fine," she asserted. "You're the strongest fighter among us, and you need to be ready for what's coming."

Without any more hesitation, Gregor began to don the armor, the pieces clicking into place as he transformed into a formidable figure, ready to face whatever awaited them.

Seeing this, Sandra also did the same. She reached into her Inventory system and pulled out her own Tier 3 Armored Sentinel Set, composed of a sturdy helmet, breastplate, arm guards, shoulder guards, cuisse, and greaves, all designed for combat.

"Kaela, you take this…" Sandra said as she had almost forgotten this set of equipment. After all, it was just too heavy and unsuited for her flight talent.

With a nod of understanding, Kaela accepted the armor, swiftly donning it.

Soon, both their legendary recruits were ready.

Then, they used a Stealthy Power in the Survivor Store to hide their scent and presence… After that, they moved to a vantage point overlooking the valley where the enemy's reinforcements had gathered.

The thirty enemies, armed with rifles and paper talismans, were forming ranks. Their eyes scanned the terrain for any traps that could've been laid out by their targets.

"Stay low," Diana instructed, her heart racing as she observed the threat before them.

"We'll wait for them to spread out a little more. Then we'll strike."

As the enemies began to advance, Diana felt that the opportunity was about to come.

"On my mark," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Gregor and Kaela nodded, their expressions fierce and determined, ready to unleash the full force of their abilities.

"Now!" Diana signaled, rising from her hiding spot and taking aim at the nearest enemy. The sound of gunfire erupted from her pistol as she fired, her shot finding its mark and sending an enemy sprawling to the ground.

Furthermore, she continued using her Exploding Knives, throwing them at them and creating chaos!

The sudden attack caught the ringleader's forces off guard. Chaos erupted as they scrambled to respond, but Diana's group had the advantage of surprise.

After Diana and Sandra threw their Exploding Weapons, Gregor charged forward, his axe swinging overhead, cleaving through an enemy who was too slow to react.

After all, the power of the Tier 3 Armored Sentinel Set had also enhanced his strength, making him a force to be reckoned with.

Kaela, emboldened by her new armor, swung her halberd, taking out another enemy before they could raise their rifle.

The weight of the armor felt reassuring, and she felt more confident fighting in melee.

Sandra and Diana provided cover fire as they picked off enemies from a distance.

The combination of their skills and the armor gave them a fighting chance against the onslaught.

Needless to say, the enemy's leader was furious at the sudden turn of events and allied his forces. "Don't let them overwhelm you! Attack!" He shouted.

The enemies regrouped, and chaos transformed into a coordinated assault.

Paper talismans flew through the air, summoning chains and fireballs aimed at Diana's group. The place was soon filled with mystical energy as the talismans activated. Thankfully, the newly donned armor also had high resistance against both physical and magical attacks!

They protected Gregor and Kaela from the brunt of the magical assaults!

However, Diana knew that this effect wouldn't last long...

"Shane, where are you?!" Diana couldn't help but worry as she checked the map.
