Chapter 760:- Victoria and Amber

Early in the morning, all seven Generals of the Istarin Empire were summoned to the empty part of the Inner Court.

Amber was the first one to arrive.

"It seems I arrived too early," Amber murmured to herself.

Meanwhile, a very tall woman entered the inner court of the Dragon Palace.

"General Amber, can I have a word with you?" Hearing this, Amber turned around to see a giant woman.

In fact, the woman was so tall that Amber felt like a child before her.

Hearing this, Victoria nodded with a small smile.

She preferred it this way.

Formality was very annoying because it was difficult to tell if she had made a mistake.

"I see that you have returned." Victoria was a member of the 7th Division. Although she was officially under General Henry, His Majesty ordered her most of the time. And when she wasn't busy with any missions, she spent all of her time training.

During this war, Victoria was sent to the Beast Continent. There was a minor conflict at one of the borders. She was sent there to resolve the conflict while representing the will of the Emperor.

Victoria returned a few days earlier than expected since she heard that the Dragon Palace had gone through huge changes. She managed to finish her mission just yesterday. After spending the night on the Beast Continent, she returned here as soon as possible.

"All the Generals have been summoned here for some kind of demonstration."

"Does that mean His Majesty is going to be here?" Victoria asked, sounding and looking excited. It had been a while since she last saw His Majesty.

Seeing her this excited, Amber was surprised but still nodded.

Amber then remembered that Victoria was the woman who proudly claimed that she would marry Aditya one day. She declared the Emperor to be her future mate.

Although at first Amber refused to believe in such rumors, later she had seen it with her own eyes. Even the way Victoria became excited when talking about His Majesty was evidence of her feelings toward the Emperor.

"Yes! The orders of His Majesty summoned us," Amber replied after taking a deep breath.

For some reason, Amber felt slightly uncomfortable. She felt uncomfortable not because of the fact that Victoria loved Aditya, but because she couldn't be open and clear about her feelings like Victoria. Victoria was a straightforward woman. Knowing that Aditya would come here, Victoria planned to wait there.

Victoria looked at Amber for some time. Amber could see that she was hesitating.

"Do you want to say something?" Amber finally asked.

"If you don't mind, would you fight me?" Victoria was a battle maniac. She loved fighting. And after sensing that Amber was quite strong, she wanted to fight Amber and see just how powerful this General was.

"Sure, I don't mind. But not right now. Let's fight later." Victoria nodded.

After a while, others began arriving one after another.

"Do you have any idea why we were summoned here?" Josh approached Amber and asked. Compared to Amber, Josh was like a beast because of his tall, muscular body. Being a Beast-man, he was really tall and muscularly built.

However, Amber wasn't intimidated by his appearance. She was the first and only 5th-order cultivator among all seven Generals of the Istarin Empire.

Everyone was standing in the empty part of the Inner Court. Some were chatting with each other.

While some loners like Henry, Nathan, and Eleanor were standing alone without talking to anybody.

Henry was a very cold man. He was always very serious. Despite being human, his strength was on par with Beast-man Josh, who was a Lion-man. The General of the 7th Division used very harsh and cruel methods to train the troops in his division.

Nathan always wore a half-face mask. His hair also covered one of his eyes. Nathan looked like a character from an anime that Aditya had heard of once or twice in his previous life. The difference between them was that Nathan was way shorter than that character.

The Leader of the Shadow Guardians wasn't much of a talker.

Similarly, Captain Eleanor was also introverted.

When Josh approached Amber, Henry, Nathan, and Eleanor were pretty much staring in their direction.

"General, although I am not 100% sure, I have heard something will be tested. If everything is successful, it will be implemented in the Imperial Troops." It was just a rumor that Amber heard from one of her subordinates.

"I see… Then why have we been summoned here? I see no reason for us to be here." Josh was the loudest in the group but also had the least intelligence.

And he did. When he looked at her, Victoria nearly melted. She knew that she must have had a silly grin on her face, but she couldn't control it. She was just so happy to see her mate after such a long time.

"Victoria, when did you return?" he asked her in a gentle tone.

General Henry also wanted to ask the same question, but his mind was occupied with other thoughts, so he did not speak to anyone.
