Chapter 1041: Raze Unleashed (Part 1)
From the very beginning since Raze had entered the strange ruins, when he had noticed the type of magic and the enchantments that were being used, he was trying to figure out how it worked.
If he figured out how it worked, he could reverse and break the spell. One would quickly have to rewrite the magic enchantment, reversing and breaking it either physically or doing it in one's mind.
Of course, writing another magic circle would be easier, allowing one to see everything that they were doing and if they would make a mistake or not. It was somewhat like doing an extremely long multiplication in one's mind.
Although there were those that could do it, there were those that would need to write it all down to get the correct answer. In this case, there was no time to write it all down, nor anything to write it with.
Raze had completely reverse-engineered the spell in his head, breaking it down, and now he was finally free.
It had taken a while, longer than he thought due to several interruptions during it, but he didn't give up. Maybe some others would have let up, maybe some mages wouldn't have even tried when realizing how difficult it was or that there was another way to get the Golden Globe, but not Raze.
The answer was simple: so far, life hadn't been so easy for him. It had never been easy for him, so why would that change now? He knew that based on the others' evaluation, he would never have been given the Golden Globe. When had life ever been that easy?
For a moment, for a brief second, he thought that maybe it had been the case when Beatrix had said she would hand him an item, but in the back of his mind, he didn't believe it, and until the very last second, he had been breaking down the spell.
Although Raze couldn't use magic that wasn't necessary, the barrier working across the island operated quite similarly to the barriers they were in now. It wasn't that they couldn't use it, but more so whatever it was that was activated was quickly dissipated and evaporated into nothing.
Making it all practically useless-to break down a spell, Raze only needed a single spark for it to work. To break a small string to allow the whole string to crumble down.
"Hey, that guy's out, the Dark Magus is out!" Red said. "What gives, so there really is a way out of this thing? How did he do that!"
Red immediately started to bang his fists against the barrier, wondering if it had weakened at all, but it was useless and did nothing. Red started to wonder, what if there was another mage here? Could they do the same as Raze?
He was unaware of just how impressive or hard it was to do such a thing.
"Oh?" Mosak said, raising an eyebrow. "And so, you're the one that's able to break out. Well, it figures of all people the mage would have been able to break free from a spell that had trapped us here in the first place.
"It makes me curious though why you came out. If you had the chance, then why didn't you escape?"
Raze pulled the sword out from its scabbard and held the ghost blade firmly in one of his hands.
"Why are you asking a question to such an obvious answer? You saw what I went through; the Golden Globe is my answer to get back to Alterian, my answer to get back. Do you think I would just let you take it right in front of me?" Raze asked.
"You have a point," Mosak said, placing his hand on his chin, and a deep smile appeared. "But you saw my past as well; you know exactly what I am." Mosak spread out both of his hands, and golden energy flowed in the air to both of them.
Although magic couldn't be used still, it was different for Mosak who didn't just have Qi, but he had Qi of a divine warrior in his hands. "I have the power of a Divine warrior; you inferiors should know your place."
With the glowing substance in his hands, Mosak then threw out his fists. There was still quite a distance between where Raze was and him—the glowing energy escaped from Mosak's hands and went through the air at a fast speed right towards Raze.
All of the warriors in the room knew what was being used.
'Projectile Qi!' Lince thought. 'This is no imitation of projectile Qi, this is the real thing. Mosak is able to allow Qi to completely leave his body in attacks. This truly shows that he has great control over his Qi.
'Those attacks will be as powerful as if Mosak was using his fists directly.'
Having fought against Mosak not too long ago, they knew how powerful strikes from such fists were.
With them coming close, Raze stayed in his position and swung his sword, hitting each one of them. His sword glowing with strong, powerful energy. As he hit each of the glowing auras of Qi, vibrations shook the whole place, and even through the barriers, Qi could be felt in the bones of those watching.
"Oh...you stopped those. You must have quite the powerful Qi. If it was any of the others, they would have all been eliminated by now. But aren't you a mage? You're not even a warrior, so how is it that your Qi can be even better than theirs?"
Raze, firmly looking at Mosak, took a deep breath. As he breathed in, he allowed all of the Qi to go through his body, and next step, he kicked off vengeance from right in front of Mosak. Right after, Raze had appeared in the air.
He spun his body, performing one of the descending steps and one of the falling demonic formations, performing his trusted Crimson Slash. His sword swung down, and Mosak was able to catch it just in time with both of his hands.
Qi continued to pulsate in the entire area, as energy flowed right behind Raze and Qi energy was flowing right off of Mosak as well. The struggle could clearly be seen on his face and no longer did he have the same gentle smile he usually would have.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"This power is a gift, and I'm going to use it just as he told me to, to get rid of anyone who gets in my way!" Raze shouted.
