Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1039: The Power Of The DawnBlade

Chapter 1039: The Power Of The DawnBlade

All of those present had accepted that Beatrix had been chosen to obtain the Golden Globe. It was in her hands, and they were stuck there, unable to do anything but wait until the time was up. No matter how frustrated they were, the barrier in front of them was just that-a barrier.

Just like above, the strange energy surrounding them suppressed them. They could gather up their Qi energy for a short while, but it would quickly dissipate, and by the time they unleashed an attack, it was useless.

Both Red and Zon didn't even attempt to break out of the barrier. They both knew from their systems that there was nothing they could do. Which was why it was unexpected for them all when they saw Mosak breaking out.

He had dug his fingers into the barrier, glowing with a strange yellow energy. He had only pried open a small section of the barrier, but then with his other hand, he had pulled it apart until the barrier had shattered like glass.

The area around him, and the glowing runes beneath his feet, all of it had disappeared.

In that moment, there was no sound louder than Beatrix's own heartbeat.

'Of all the people to have broken out, why did it have to be him... if it's him, what can I do?' Beatrix thought.

She was already taking steps back and was looking all around her. It was hard to tell how large the room was that they were in due to it being covered in darkness. Where the walls started, and when looking up, the hole where they had come in from couldn't be seen.

The only thing she could attempt to do was to try and run away, but she knew for sure Mosak would catch up to her in no time.

'It was hard for all of us to even fight against him, and it didn't even feel like he was going full strength at the time... do I have no choice, do I have to give him the Golden Globe?' She thought.

"Now that was a lot harder than I thought, even my own energy kept dissipating in that thing. I have to say this whole setup is extremely impressive," Mosak said to himself. "It appears that the Divine realm has some things to worry about after all."

Mosak was casually walking over, as he stretched out his fingertips and was approaching closer and closer to Beatrix.

"Now, hand over the Golden Globe," Mosak asked. "I'm going to ask nicely once and that's all. I don't have a thing for killing, but it's something I can oblige to. Take this chance, as I am asking you, an inferior."

An "inferior" was a term that was often used by those in the Divine realm. They believed they had ascended, and were almost like gods compared to those on Pagna. Which was why their powers were limited when they descended down.

After being in the Divine realm for a while, it was hard to group up Divine warriors and the rest. After all, they could live forever, dubbing the terms of other humans that hadn't ascended as Inferiors.

It was like hanging with a class of animals, but even Mosak didn't want to kill an animal right in front of him if he didn't have to.

"Use the item!" Ricar eventually shouted. "Whatever we do, we should not allow that man to get his hands on the item! Use it, and escape from this place!"

Ricar, although he didn't believe in Beatrix's choice, did have a bad feeling about Mosak since the moment they fought, and seeing his past memories, there was something that deeply bugged and worried him.

Why was Mosak here? Why did he know about the Golden Globe, and why would someone like him want it so badly?

It was the belief of all the Factions and Clans that the Divine warriors rarely came down and interfered with the world of Pagna. What if that wasn't the case? What if there were many that had been plotting certain things in the background, pulling the strings of warriors that were already here?

Today, Ricar's world and understanding of Pagna had been shattered, and he was starting to feel even more connected to those around him than his own clan and faction that had to have been hiding secrets for a long time.

"Right, the item?" Beatrix said as she held onto the Golden Globe. The power to go across different planets, to open and break through realms. If such an artifact had this power, then she could at least simply use it to head outside, right?

She tried inputting her Qi into the item, she tried to do whatever she could as she concentrated, but it was doing nothing at all.

"I don't know how to use this thing!" Beatrix panicked, and Mosak had stopped moving toward her, which was an even more frightful image for her.

"The effect of the island, is it still in place? Artifacts can't be used since we got here, right? That could be the reason?" Lince said.

"Or you have no idea how to use that thing," Red answered. "Alter has had a number of large artifacts at their disposal. We know their power, but it takes years of testing to figure out how to use certain items."

"You should know, a power like mine, or a mage's, can help out considerably but it's not always the case."

Ignoring the conversation around them, Mosak had enough.

"Fine, I'll take the item from your dead fingers then," Mosak claimed.

Seeing this, Beatrix quickly swung her sword down by her side. No longer in the barrier, she was able to use artifacts. She was going to do whatever it was to win this fight.

"I... already decided who to hand this item over to. I won't break my promise!" Qi started to surge all over Beatrix's body, and glowing light went around in a circle in front of her. Her visual Qi was activating, as the image of a large moon had appeared behind her back.
