Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.470 Working on a Skill with a System Agent

CH.470 Working on a Skill with a System Agent

“Alright. I’m here. Run me through everything you have on that skill.” Coby said, after he appeared in the Factory.

“... didn’t you read the files Laura sent to the System?”

“Reading? Who does that? Master of mine was no scholar, and neither am I. Better to learn firsthand.”

“... okay. Well, in short, the skill will allow for the modification of one's body through magical means mostly. Things like forming magical claws, forming magical limbs, or forming a magical mer-folk tail to cover your legs. All of this was in attempts at giving humans access to skills that are normally racial skills of different races, like Swift Swimming, Tough Claws, Winged Flight and so on.

“But recently I decided I wanted the skill to do a bit more. Mainly being able to form extra limbs, like the Multi-Armed race, except that the limbs will be made of magic and mana. I also mixed in some of the data from Lizard Split racial skill to allow for the magical limbs to not be attached to the person using the skill.

“And while I could do all of that, or at least emulate all of that, with just Telekinesis, that route has some problems. Mainly that it wouldn’t allow you to gain new skills, which you may know are kind of nice to have since more skills means more stats. And also all techniques I’d do with Telekinesis would inflict damage based on the user's Magic stat, not Strength stat. And sure, my Magic stat is a lot higher than my Strength, but that might not be the case for everyone. And this skill is honestly better for those who don’t have super high Magic stat.

“And that leads to the first major problem. The stupidly high Mana Control that would be required for the skill. You basically have to have Mana Control of LV.11 or above, and honestly speaking, I think having the skill be evolved might be required as well. It is that difficult to manage.

“So I need help in making the skill easier to gain, easier to control and to help it do either purely physical damage, or damage that is mixed between physical and magical.”

“... That is a lot. I will have to ask a few of the others that also volunteered for this project, as I am not an expert when it comes to magical stuff.” Coby admitted. “But what I can help with is the control part. We will just make you a prototype version of the skill, then train with it, track how you move your modified or extra body parts and mix all of that in with the skill. That way, the movement will be based on intentions and instinct, not you having to Mana Control everything.”

“... we can do that?”

“Who do you think you are talking to? You may not realize it, because you are used to us, but we are still angels and we work under the Goddess. Modifying the System might take some time, but that doesn’t mean we cannot do it.”

“... so?”

“So you will wait a day or few. We will prepare the prototype version of the skill. It should appear in your Unique skill section but that might not be its permanent place. We’ll have to evaluate where the skill actually belongs.”

“Understandable. … I guess it could be a racial skill, if you guys are willing to add in a new race.”

“... that is not a terrible idea. Any ideas for a name?”

“How about something like a Magi-Physical Human? Of course the Human part can be replaced with any other race, so the race itself would be Magi-Physical. … And I guess if I were to set it into a One of Every Race category, it would have to be a class race. It would also work as a modifier race, but I’m not sure which is better.”

“I agree with you on an idea level, however when it comes to power, your race would be more equivalent to a special race. There is also the question of does the skill unlock the race or the other way around. Class races are unlocked by skill level, as you might know, while modifier and special races aren’t. Those rely on special conditions, such as the Dragon Heart Dedication for your Dragon Hearted, and either Dragon Heart Dedication or Dragon Scale Blessing for Melusine. Of course a Melusine has to be a mer-folk first.”

“Dragon Scale Blessing? What’s that?” I had to ask, though I had an idea already. I think it might be what Lady Janina did during the HomeBase grand reveal when she helped Agunan evolve by giving him one of her scales. in

“Ask your dragon friends. They’ll be able to explain it better. But it is really just a weaker form of Dragon Heart Dedication.”

“I will.”

We then spent a bit of time with me showing all of the prototype versions of the skill I had to Coby, before he returned to the wider System to do … something with everything I just gave him. No clue what he will do, but hopefully it will be good.

I then took a quick trip over to the Dragon’s coast to talk with Lady Janina, while I also trained my Draconic skills.

I mainly wanted to know about the Dragon Scale Blessing, and it was as I suspected. What Lady Janina did with Agunan was a form of Dragon Scale Blessing. Specifically the kind that can only be done between dragons, because if Lady Janina did that to your average human, they would die of the power overload. If done to a human, a similar but much slower process will take place, where tiny parts of a scale are given to a human over the course of about a month, until finally the entire scale will have entered their body.

At which point the human, or other humanoid being, will generally evolve into some sort of draconic race.

After the training, I naturally played with the dragons a bit. They always want me to, and I don’t mind bringing out some of my monsters to play.

Today I was using Lightsworns, and while regularly they might not be enough to really challenge dragons, with Realm of Light, they got a nice power boost and were able to at least hold their own.

Spoiler

Gragonith was everyone’s favorite opponent, as he is a dragon and with his effect, he is also quite strong. Especially when boosted more by Realm of Light.

Spoiler

Judgment Dragon on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment. While he made for a decent opponent for the adolescent dragons, he just couldn’t stand up to the adults, because he doesn’t have the stats for it, and he doesn’t get the boost from Realm of Light.

Spoiler

Because of that, I made a new custom version of Judgment Dragon by mixing it with Lightsworn Barrier.

Spoiler

With it, I made Lightsworn Protector - Judgment Dragon. Same stats and summoning condition as the OG Judgment Dragon, but with an effect where whenever a Lightsworn monster attacks or is attacked, you can pay 1000 life points to destroy the monster it is attacking or being attacked by, and then burn your opponent equal to the on field attack or defense, whichever position the monster was in.

And since it now was a Lightsworn monster, Lightsworn Protector - Judgment Dragon got a nice power boost from Realm of Light.

After returning to HomeBase, I decided to open some more packs. I just think it is a good way to waste some time, and I think I have a day or two before the System agents finish the prototype skill.

As for today’s opening, I decided on 10 packs of , followed by another 10 of . As always, I want more Synchro monsters, though some /Assault Mode monsters won’t be bad either. … as long as they are for monsters where I have the Synchro version of.

But you know the plan, so let’s just get on with it.

Spoiler

Man. Factory of 100 Machines. Who named this card? The name sounds so badass, but the effect is just absolute trash. Like sure I could use it to give a monster a decent attack boost, but with that name, it should do something so much more.

Miracle Fertilizer is also new, and honestly, it isn’t bad. Sure it isn’t great either, but it isn’t just a worse Monster Reborn like some other cards are. I can also potentially use it to improve the fertilizer HomeBase uses. And sells, because some of the adventurers’ guilds do actually purchase fertilizer from us.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Trap of the Imperial Tomb is new, but it is way too specific. Summoning a Zombie from your opponent's GY to your field. How often does that happen? Like almost never.

Next pack.

Spoiler

And that is nothing but repeats, so next.

Spoiler

Pursuit Chaser is new. Which is interesting considering that it is a common. And I might actually be able to use it for some interesting tech.

But it is the only new card in this pack, so next pack.

Spoiler

… already had the ultra rare version of Rose, Warrior of Revenge, but I guess the ultimate rare variant is new. And yeah, she is a LV.4 Warrior Tuner, which is nice, but would have preferred some other ultimate rare.

… next.

Spoiler

Prideful Roar is new and it isn’t terrible. Sure it is somewhat situational, but that doesn’t make it bad. It can give a nice attack boost which will basically guarantee victory. Of course real life isn’t Yugioh, so the win isn’t 100% guaranteed.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Again, nothing new. Next.

Spoiler

Tytannial is new. She looks amazing, has good stats and a decent effect. So she is great. I may give a copy to Cailie later.

One more Crossroads of Chaos pack before I switch sets.

Spoiler

Goka, the Pyre of Malice is new, and it is decent. Just wish it had slightly higher stats. And it isn’t a Synchro, but a super rare is still a super rare, so nice card to get.

Time to change sets to Crimson Crisis.

Spoiler

Alien Ammonite is new and it is okay. It does resurrect an Alien monster from the GY on summon, so that is a nice effect.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Assault Counter is new, and it is actually kind of decent. Sure I have to control a /Assault Mode monster to activate it, but being able to negate a Spell or Trap or an effect monsters effect, that is basically negate anything someone can do.

Prevention Star is … why is it like that? Like really? Have you ever heard of Fiendish Chain or any of the other similar traps? They do the same but are way better.

And Turret Warrior is fine. With the special summon effect, it can gain a lot of attack, but even without it, it has a decent defense stat.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Makiu, the Magical Mist is … a worse Raigeki. Just … I guess that doesn’t make it useless, I just don’t really need it.

Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar on the other hand. Well, I think you can all see that it is a Synchro, so despite its … not amazing effect, I really like it.

Maybe I can get one more to go along with it, so next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new, next.

Spoiler

Gale the Whirlwind is nice. A great tuner, special summons itself, halves one monster's attack and defense. What is there not to love? Great to have one.

Next pack.

Spoiler

This pack really be like: “The best I can do is a Bee List Soldier, and you better like it.”

… heh … which I do. Yeah it is a dumb ass pun, but I still like it. Because it is a Bee List Soldier.

… let’s go to the next pack before that pun corrupts my mind.

Spoiler

Two new card. Assault Beast can get me more copies of Assault Mode Activate, but I don’t really need any more. Other than that it is a decent LV.4 Beast-Warrior.

Ido the Supreme Magical Force sounds like it would be stupidly strong, but it sucks. Mainly because the entire ‘You cannot summon monsters’ part of his effect.

But it is a secret rare, so … yeah, that doesn’t make it good.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Both Supernatural Regeneration and Indomitable Gladiator Beast are new.

Supernatural Regeneration is decent. Good healing, but requires some set up.

Indomitable Gladiator Beast is a decent spell, but I have better, so I probably won’t be using it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Debris Dragon is new, and it is a decent tuner monster. Sadly it can only be used to summon Dragon-type Synchro monsters, and it also can’t have a LV.4 as the other material, but that doesn’t make it bad. Just a bit more limited.

One last pack.

Spoiler

Sadly nothing new here. so ending on a bit of a whimper.

But at least I got one new Synchro from 20 packs. Could have been worse.
