Young Master in the Apocalypse

Chapter 220 Dance

Chapter 220 Dance

The lights died out, and the music stopped. Then, the spotlight brightly shone on the stage. From behind the screen, ten female dancers appeared, wearing skimpy clothes that only covered their thighs and chest. Their flawless skin and alluring curves attracted the attention of all the men who had become regulars in the club.

Not long after, the sound of music echoed in the place. The dancing women began to sway and twirl their bodies to the rhythm of the music, forming an image of pure, yet graceful temptation.

As the beautiful scene continued, the visitors were awestruck. All attention was instantly pulled toward the ten beauties and their charming dance; even some VIP customers were seen standing, clapping, and whistling excitedly.

The beat of the music became fast, followed by the deafeningly booming bass and sound effects. The luster of lights flickered around the room again, and within seconds, everyone in the club joined in to dance. The atmosphere of the club got even more lively.

Amidst the excitement of the party, Viktor approached the Heaven's Will group at the VIP table. It was only after holding a brief talk with his VIP guests that he was finally able to approach his childhood friend and ex-girlfriend, Anna.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Anna. I actually wanted to come right away, but you know, those people… it's not good to ignore them."

"You are the owner of the club, of course, you should serve them well," the woman answered curtly.

The members of the Heaven's Will guild looked at Viktor with mixed looks of awkwardness and discomfort on their faces. Seeing their response, Viktor quickly started talking to them too, throwing a few pleasantries and jokes to loosen the mood.

After a short while, he then stopped the waiter and grabbed the vodka bottle on the tray.

"Anna's friend is also my friend. As friends, we must treat each other well, right?"

One by one, Viktor poured the vodka into the glasses of the Heaven's Will guild members with an amiable grin. Even his eyes turned into crescent moons.

In turn, the guild members grinned like fools. Even at just a glance, it was clear that they never expected a descendant of Romanov to serve them so directly. The image of Viktor in their heads was far from the man before them right now.

Meanwhile, Anna only glanced at Viktor with an indifferent face. For some reason, she felt that the Viktor she knew had not changed in the slightest, still fond of pretending to be cool in front of outsiders.

As Viktor was laughing along with the others, he felt her constant gaze on him. Je briskly turned to Anna upon realizing that he was being observed, but the woman quickly looked away. At that very moment, he saw an opportunity.

An opportunity to fix his broken relationship with the woman he longed for.

"Would you like to dance?"

Anna glanced back at Viktor, acting as if she had not just gazed at him a moment ago. "No. I've drunk too much."

'Nonsense,' thought Viktor. He knew Anna just wanted to avoid his offer.

Viktor continued to persuade Anna to dance with various motives and reasons. However, none of his persuasions worked on the woman.

The ceaseless rejection frustrated him. It was clear that his words were getting him nowhere, but he wouldn't be Viktor if he gave up at the first shot.

"All right, if that's what you want."

Viktor looked at Anna's friends instead and successfully got them to the dance floor.

"It's a party. Come on, let's dance together!"

They still looked reluctant at first since it was the Romanov young master who invited them, but because they also wanted it, they ultimately obeyed the club owner's invitation and joined with the others on the dance floor.

They danced and mingled with other visitors, following the music and releasing all their fatigue. Viktor and the guild members laughed heartily as they talked and danced, enjoying themselves like there was no tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Anna sat alone at the VIP table. When she saw Viktor being Viktor, carefree about everything as if the world had never changed, the indifference on her face melted a bit. The memory of their past resurfaced, and unexpectedly, a warm feeling that had been lost for a long time slowly returned.

Then, their eyes met. Anna was surprised, but Viktor grinned like a child instead. The man quickly ran through the crowd toward Anna.

"Hey, I can tell that you want to dance too. Come on, don't be shy!"

Anna shook her head. "No, Viktor, I'm too drunk."

When she felt a warm hand gently hold hers after a sigh, her eyes opened wide and her eyelashes slightly fluttered. Still, under his expectant eyes, she didn't pull away.

"Anna, I know we have some bad memories in the past and you still can't forgive me. But we also have so many good memories we shouldn't just forget. Let's start over, it's the apocalypse for God's sake. Don't waste the time we have left with hate."

His words made Anna look away. Viktor subconsciously bit his lip upon seeing the woman's reaction, and he squeezed her hand tightly.

"Come on, Anna. Dance with me," Viktor added in a gentle tone.

Silence enveloped both of them amidst the boisterous music of the party. Viktor still looked expectantly at Anna, but the woman remained silent for a long time.

After a while, Anna turned around and looked straight into his eyes. "All right, For old time's sake."

Viktor's lips curled into a bright smile. He quickly pulled her, and Anna did put up any resistance at all as if she was willing to be pulled by him.

Viktor then led her onto the dance floor, where dozens of people who were immersed in euphoria surrounded them. The beat of the music and the hysteria crept into the ears, and without warning, Viktor started to dance freely and relaxedly.

Anna, who hadn't felt this kind of sensation for a long time, stood stiffly in her place.

"It's too noisy in here! I'll just come back to my table!"

"I can't hear you!!!"

Of course, Viktor could actually hear her, but he decided to ignore it. He wanted to help take the tension off the woman's shoulders so he could get back to normal with her.

"Come here!"

Without waiting for her to respond, Viktor took Anna's hand and moved it up and down like a puppeteer.

"Move your hands like this! One…! Two…! One…! Two…!"

In the end, Anna relented. She let go of her resistance and began to move her body. As she slowly danced following Viktor's guidance and the beat of the music, she quickly began to enjoy the atmosphere.

"Yeah…! That's good!"

They danced and laughed together, mingling with dozens of other visitors. On the dance floor, all the feelings of depression and fatigue in their chest were slowly replaced by unexplainable happiness and joy. Be it Anna or Viktor, they felt the same thing.

The two of them danced like children who were attending a party for the first time. Their dance was random and erratic as if they were immersed in their own world, but they felt free.

Subconsciously, they looked at each other with joy in their hearts and sincere smiles on their faces. They didn't take their eyes off each other, as if they were magnets attracted to one another.

At that moment, Viktor's heart raced like a war drum. A warm and familiar feeling rose in his chest, a feeling he had not felt in a long time.

Anna also felt a similar sensation. She was sure that she had thrown this sensation away a long time ago, but now, she felt it coming back at once. This time, it felt even more real.

Viktor felt this was the right moment.

He naturally fixed his eyes on Anna's, swallowing his saliva with a bit of difficulty while trying to muster up the courage to say the words stuck in his throat.

"Anna… I—huh?!"

All of a sudden, the woman pushed him and stepped back, instantly filling Viktor's face with confusion.

"Sorry, Viktor… I have to go home."

Then, the woman ran quickly. Viktor briskly held her hand, preventing her from leaving.

"Hey! Don't go! What did I do wrong?"

Anna pulled her hand a bit roughly, and her delicate hand slipped from Viktor's grasp.

Viktor was dumbfounded. He just stood there and looked at Anna who was running through the crowd like a fool.

Everything went well a few minutes ago. They began to enjoy the atmosphere and even opened up to each other, yet it turned over so suddenly. Viktor was sure that he did nothing wrong at all, and he still didn't understand what had just happened even after rummaging through his head.

Viktor was stunned in his place as a sharp pain collided in his chest. Nevertheless, the people around him still danced, and the music went on. The party continued.
