Chapter 69 The Goblin Chieftain
They walked forward, and the goblins that came their way were ignored by the tanks, only to be taken care of by the warriors behind.
Soon, they approached the light at the end of the tunnel, and there was no need for the red flares that Jake had provided.
They all walked faster, trying to get out of the uncomfortable darkness, and into the light, where even though the boss probably stood, would be a better and more interesting thing to look at.
The tanks soon got to the end of the tunnel, and took one step forward to the huge gathering in the place. White light shone through this place, but this was not natural light.
It was coming from a single crystal the size of an elephant's head on top of the dome like ceiling that stretched forward into the walls of this so called room.
[You have entered the Goblin Chieftain's throne room!]
[Kill the Gobling Chieftain to finish the raid!]
Two messages popped up in front of every guild member. The tanks, who actually could see the room, looked around with interest.
There were goblins everywhere. Goblins in every nook and cranny. This place was overflowing with them, and at the center of the circular room, was a small circle that was empty for all but five goblins.
Each one of these monsters had the features of a goblin. They had green skin, and looked like they only had one emotion. But four of these goblins were larger than any other, and they had clubs in their hands instead of swords.
They looked blankly at the people who had just came, and did not even attack. Neither did any of the goblins.
That was because everyone in the arena was waiting with bated breaths, looking at the true center of this room: The Goblin Chieftain. He was just a little bigger than the other goblins, but he had a staff in his hands with a bright purple crustal on it.
It was a mage's staff, one with a very good magic crystal on it. Something like that would definitely go for a lot in the market.
"Charge! Now! We can't let them wait for the first move. Move forward so that all of our men can actually come into this area!" Jake shouted, and the lines started moving again.
They went from this weird array to a proper battle formation, with the tanks in the front again, and the warriors between the tanks and the mages and archers.
Once all of them were in the room, all the guild members could see the force they were up against.
p
"Are those four big monsters trolls? Ogres? They can't possibly be goblins." someone asked, looking at the center of the hall.
"You don't need to concern yourself with them just yet. They are the personal guard of the Goblin Cheiftain. They will only enter the battle once you attack the chieftain himself. And we will not be trying that for now. The goal is to kill every single one of these goblins and avoid the attacks of the goblin chieftain. He is a mage who is higher leveled than all of us, so it is better if we do not get hit by him." Jake said.
"Well then, what are we waiting for? The goblins aren't moving. Let us catch them off-guard! Charge!" Jake shouted, and he raised his sword as the whole guild moved forward cohesively.
No one was scared. Sure, the personal guard of the goblin chieftain looked a little big, but how big was big? The Cyclops outside was humongous, and certainly, these weren't comparable to that monster.
If there was not a beast here that was as strong as that, then this battle would definitely end in their victory.
The moment they moved forward, the goblin chieftain suddenly arose from his throne which was made out of broken bones and leaves.
He started speaking in an foreign language that no one was able to understand, but when he did speak, the entire hall as filled with the cries of the goblins who started tearing at the guild members who came rushing forward.
"We have been killing these things for a while now. Do not stop. If we can keep going, we will be able to finish this raid once and for all." Jake shouted.
He had split up from the main force and started carving out a way from the goblins, trying to get to the mage and archer goblins that his own mages and archers couldn't reach.
With his HP, and level, these goblins couldn't do much damage to him before dying. Soon enough, the goblin flanks were collapsing, and the guild was covering ground in record time.
With more and more goblins dying, the Goblin Chieftain stood up to take action. He raised his staff and started chanting.
The moment he did, purple circles made out of runes appeared in front of the goblin's staff, and all of a sudden, the spell manifested in front of the tanks.
Boom!
A bolt of lightning struck the tanks in the front, and all of them froze, unable to move.
"Fury Swipes!"
At that moment, Kierch suddenly flew to the front lines and used a move that would be his trademark for years to come.
His dual swords, one with a blue hue, and one with a purple hue, slashed the goblins as he cut through the goblins that were trying to get to the paralysed tanks.
Boom!
Myriad Arrows' arrows were exploding in the middle of the goblin army, doing more damage than anyone else, even though he was just an archer!
These two of them stole the show the moment that they needed to.
