Chapter 212: Chapter 150 A little trouble, has been dealt with (2 in 1 large chapter)_4
"Who are you?" asked a man in his twenties inside, retreating step by step in fear upon seeing Rein clad in knight armor and carrying such an imposing aura.
"As an accomplice of Adams, you are under arrest!" Rein declared loudly.
"Adams?"
"Sir, are you mistaken? We don't have anyone by that name here," the young man replied, looking utterly confused.
"Recognize this?" Rein pulled out a staff from Adams from behind his back.
The white knuckles surely weren't shown off by Adams before, but Rein felt that Adams would most likely not hide such an unremarkable staff.
As expected!
"My boss's staff?" The young man's eyes suddenly widened, as if he had made a connection, and he exclaimed in disbelief.
"Your boss's real name is Adams, a fugitive wanted by the empire. Now, do you have anything else to say?"
"Sir... I've been wronged!"
"I only started working at this divination shop last month, I had no idea our boss was a fugitive wanted by the empire..." The young man's legs gave way, and he slowly slumped against the wall, crying out his innocence with a look of disbelief.
"Hmm, if what you say is true, you will be released soon."
"Now, please cooperate with my work. Where is Adams's, your boss's, bedroom?" Rein asked, patiently organizing his thoughts.
...
Ten minutes later, Rein walked out of the divination shop carrying a large black bag, followed by a dejected young man.
Just as Rein was about to leave the Bat Market, two hooded figures in black robes approached him from the front of the street.
Rein's pupils contracted, and his expression turned stern.
He could feel the active spiritual power of the two people opposite him.
It seemed not inferior to his own, roughly that of a second-level Wizard Apprentice.
Of course, they could be higher, like a third-level Wizard Apprentice, but deliberately disguising it as second-level.
"Young man, no fighting is allowed inside the Bat Market; any dispute must be submitted to the market's manager," one of the robed men said.
"Are you the managers of the Bat Market?"
"I am here to capture Adams, a fugitive wanted by the empire. I believe, even the Bat Market cannot protect a wanted criminal," Rein stated, pointing to the emblem on his knight armor.
"This..." The two robed men, taken aback by Rein's answer.
The two exchanged glances for a moment, then said, "Since you are an official imperial agent performing your duties, that certainly is a different matter."
Indeed, having the backing of a powerful entity is beneficial! Rein thought to himself.
Once Rein left the Bat Market, Matteo, who had been waiting at the entrance, immediately came up to him, asking, "Sir, did everything go smoothly?"
"Matteo, take this man into custody. We'll interrogate him later about his relationship with Adams."
Although Rein was almost certain that the employee was just an ordinary person, the only extraordinary aspect being his slightly higher spiritual power—a fairly common occurrence in the Bat Market—
Typically, shop assistants are selected from ordinary people with relatively stronger spirits.
"As you command, sir!"
Immediately, Matteo signalled to two elite Night Watchmen behind him to escort the suspect, following Rein back to Flashgold Town.
Two hours later, once back at home, Rein immediately went to the storage room and placed the black package directly on the table.
A smile crossed Rein's face as he waved vigorously through the air with both hands!
This haul could definitely be called tremendous!
Calming his surging emotions, Rein set about to inventory his acquisitions this time.
A Crystal Ball, two Sorcery Scrolls, three books written in Lingwen (Akkadian), and a whole bunch of assorted materials.
Currently, Rein had no idea of the effects of these items.
So, the first thing Rein opened were the three books written in Lingwen.
"Not bad!"
"Not a decent person."
"There's a diary!"
"In that case, the origins and uses of these items in my possession should generally be recognizable!" Rein, holding a book in his hands, said with a smile.
