Chapter 310 Climax
*Splash*
Warm blood splattered all over Rocky and Kronos's face as the two of them managed to kill the swordsman together.
"Quick– Get the hell out of here!" Both of them said at once, as they both encouraged the other to get out of this mess.
"What? Have you gone crazy? I have infinite vitality, I'll be fine, you should go first!"
"What? This is my mission, you're in this mess because of me, of-course I'm staying" replied Rocky, as instead of arguing with Kronos, he crushed the teleportation stone on his arm, forcefully sending Kronos out of the battlefield.
"Noo–" Kronos protested, however, he did not have much choice in the matter as before he could say more he was out of earshot, leaving Rocky alone in the graveyard with Erin.
"Who sent you? Was it Vladimir? Did that weasel commision you to kill me?" Nuna said, as once he noticed that the assaulters had managed to kill the swordsman, his strongest security personnel, he no longer took Rocky and team lightly.
The old god had a powerful voice, and as he uttered these words he forced himself to straighten his back as he tried to stir up some of his aura.
However, just as his powerful aura began enveloping the battlefield, knocking the weak tier 0 graveyard sweeper out cold, it also receded equally quickly, as the old man buckled to his knees and began coughing blood.
*Cough*
*Cough*
The old god was no longer what he used to be and was only clinging onto his life barely.
Had he been in his prime, killing Rocky and his associates would have been as simple as flicking a finger for him, however, he was no longer the same man.
Years of burning through his vitality had left him in a heap and he was barely holding onto his life with nothing but his willpower to hold his frail old body together.
At this point, even though he had divine essence coursing through his body, he was no different from a mortal and sadly, in this state, he had to rely more on his security team than himself to fend off enemies.
'He's weak… we might actually have a shot at pulling this off,' Rocky thought, as seizing the opportunity he hurled a Shockwave Grenade toward Nuna, deliberately slowing his throw to give Erin a chance to intervene and save the old man.
"Don't fail me…." Rocky muttered under his breath, as right on his cue, Erin jumped before Nuna, stunning both the old god and his security team, as he cast a weak tier2 barrier to hopefully protect the old god.
*KABOOM*
Rocky's tier4 Shockwave Bomb easily obliterated Erin's weak barrier, sending him flying in the opposite direction, as he spat a mouthful of blood.
Alongside him, Nuna also picked up a slight injury, however, it was greatly reduced in comparison to what he could have suffered had Erin not intervened.
"Unghhh—" Erin groaned in pain, clutching his stomach, as he rolled on the ground pretending to be seriously injured, which he actually was.
Meanwhile, the rogue closed in on Rocky, trying to take him out, however, with his role in the mission already accomplished, Rocky simply threw all the remaining weapons he had purchased from the system store and crushed his teleportation token to rush out of the scene.
*SHUA*
Once again, the rogue missed hitting his target, with Rocky escaping successfully, as his dagger simply whistled past the position where Rocky once stood.
*KABOOM*
The system weapons that Rocky had dumped created a massive explosion, creating a massive crater in the middle of the graveyard, as the rogue was blasted off into the distance from the resulting shockwave.
*Pah*
Bruised and battered, he struggled back to his feet constantly assessing for threats, however, there seemed to be none.
The attackers had all seemingly retreated, leaving Nuna and his security team with two dead bodies, an injured graveyard sweeper and a passed out old guy.
"It's over…. They have ran away" the rogue said as he rushed over to help Nuna, who watched his arm bleed with remorse on his face.
"Such a weak move managed to injure me…. Ha–" he said, seemingly angered by the fact that a mere tier4 move managed to scratch his skin, however, that was the sad reality of his old age.
No longer the man he once was, he could no longer take punishment as before either.
Nonetheless, he stood back up and first walked over to the corpse of the swordsman, as he used a magic spell to erect a grave for him on the spot.
With the rest of the team as spectators, Nuna buried the dead mage and swordsman and held a short departure ceremony for them, before walking over to Erin who was still rolling over on the ground clutching his stomach.
"Who is this boy? I've never seen him before?" The rogue said, as he did not recognise Erin as a regular sweeper here at the cemetery.
"Must be a new hire, he risked his life to save that of our boss" replied a knight, as Nuna knelt beside him and cast a lesser healing spell to heal Erin's internal injuries.
"What's your name, young man? Thank You so much for risking your life to save me" Nuna said, as at this moment Erin inadvertently soiled himself, piss rolling down his pants as he lost control of his emotions.
"I'm Erin my Lord…." He said, his eyes locking with that of Nuna, as it was at this moment that Nuna noticed the problems with Erin's cover.
He was wearing not one but four teleportation tokens on his body and instead of possessing a weak glance, like that of an innocent man, he looked at Nuna with the unmistakable murderous glance of a killer.
"Who?" Nuna said, his pupils constricting as he tried to restrict Erin, however, despite his internal fears, Erin executed the plan he had in mind to perfection.
