Chapter 308 Chaos and Confusion
After about two hours of the team patiently lying in wait, Nuna finally showed up to the graveyard with his usual security entourage flanking him on all sides.
As Erin glanced in the direction of the old god, he was surprised to see him actually looking old and wrinkled, as unlike most gods who preserved their youthful appearance till their demise, Nuna genuinely looked like a 75-80 year old human grandpa, with wrinkled skin and curved spine.
"There he is, the great god Nuna, quick bow before him–" the old graveyard sweeper said, prompting Erin to bow alongside him, as Nuna passed by the two of them on his way to the old floor master's grave.
Neither Nuna, nor his security team seemed to take note of Erin as they passed him, as if there was one strength that Erin had, it was looking very inconspicuous.
Unlike Rocky who had a certain gravity and charm about himself, Erin was truly unremarkable and could easily pass as a frail sweeper that nobody would feel on guard against.

Erin's heart raced in his chest, as he realized that the plan was on, as he watched on with baited breath, waiting for his cue to make a move.
"Isn't he magnificent? Our mayor, everytime I see him it gives me goosebumps" whispered the old sweeper as he seemed to be excited about seeing the old god, as if it were his first time seeing him.
However, although the old sweeper felt excited to see Nuna, no matter how Erin looked at the old god, he did not seem like a divine being at all.
There was no divine aura leaking from his body, no domineering presence about him, and even as he walked, he walked like a crippled old man who did not have a spring in his step.
'Is he really a god?' Erin wondered, as he watched on in anticipation as the old god kneeled before the previous floor master's grave, offering him fresh flowers.
"Master, I'm very close to avenging you now, Vladimir is losing his grip on the court and very soon there will be a rebellion.
I will finally avenge your death in a week's time, so that your spirit can finally rest in peace" Nuna said, whispering to the gravestone as he seemed to earnestly convey his feelings to the dead.
At that point, suddenly, with a signal from Rocky, the quiet of the cemetery was shattered by a deafening BOOM as the first set of explosives went off, shaking the ground beneath them. Enjoy more content from empire
Smoke billowed up from behind one of the larger gravestones, where Kronos had carefully set the charges, creating the impression that a powerful attack had been used.
Alerted, Nuna's guards immediately sprang into action, their movements swift as they raised shields and formed a protective formation around the old god.
But the attack from Rocky and team was far from over.
*Crack* *Crack* *BOOM!*
A second explosion erupted, this time from the opposite side, followed by a cascade of rapid-fire detonations.
Hidden mines scattered across the graveyard began to trigger, sending shards of rock and debris flying through the air.
One of the shield-bearers grunted in pain as a chunk of stone slammed into his side, forcing him to take a knee.
Panicked, the security mages reacted quickly, raising a shimmering barrier to protect against the onslaught, but even that barrier was beginning to buckle under the strain of the attacks, as the attacks that Rocky and team were using weren't mere tier-2 contraptions, instead, the traps they had purchased packed far more power than anything they could unleash on their own, being explosions akin to a tier4 spell in strength.
FWOOOSH!
"Its working, keep it going…." Rocky commanded, as reacting to his command, Buhara set off a wall of fire that erupted behind the security team, the powerful flames licking at the edges of their defensive barrier.
The two support mages struggled to hold the barrier steady under the relentless barrage, sweat dripping from their brows as they channeled more mana into the shield.
*Boom*
*Boom*
*Boom*
Explosions rang all across them, with each subsequent explosion being more powerful than the last, leaving them scrambling to keep their defenses intact.
Kronos, hidden behind a gravestone, activated the runes he had planted earlier as arcs of lightning crackled through the air, striking randomly at Nuna's guards, sending one of the shield-bearers stumbling as the electricity coursed through his armor.
"Ungh–" He let out a muffled cry, the force of the blast throwing him off balance as the barrier flickered.
"Sir, we're under attack from all sides!" one of the guards yelled to Nuna, his voice strained as he tried to peer through the smoke and debris. "Multiple attackers!"
The rogue, always quick to act, vanished into the shadows, attempting to scout out the unseen assailants. But the chaos of the explosions made it nearly impossible to determine where the enemy was coming from and in his initial panic, he went off in the wrong direction, where neither Rocky, nor Buhara or Kronos were hiding.
BOOM!
At this moment, another explosion tore through the cemetery, this time from a series of traps planted along the pathway Nuna had taken.
The lead swordsman gritted his teeth, as he raised his blade to deflect the series of rocks coming their way, however at this point even he couldn't hide the panic in his eyes as more of the powerful explosives detonated around him.
"We're being overwhelmed!" one of the mages shouted, desperately channeling more mana into the barrier to make it sturdier, however, the strain was evident on his face—the enchanted bombs were draining his strength fast and he could not hold the barrier for much longer.
THOOM!
At this point, yet another massive explosion from a rune went off near the gravestones, sending another shockwave through the air.
The swordsman barely dodged in time, his armor singed from the blast, while the mages' barrier began to flicker violently under the pressure.
"They're too powerful!" one of the guards shouted, trying to regain his footing.
"We can't hold them off!" complained another, as at that point Kronos set off the final wave of explosions that left the entire battlefield in ruins.
Nunu's guards were battered, bloodied, and utterly confused, while the old god himself stumbled, barely able to stand under the strain of the assault.
He looked around in confusion, his cloudy old eyes searching for an explanation, as to him, it seemed as though he were facing an army of enemies.
As the last explosion echoed through the graveyard, Rocky's team remained hidden, knowing that their plan had worked.
For now, they had succeeded in their first objective: creating chaos, confusion, and injuring their enemies without ever revealing their true strength as the panic was evident in the eyes of their foes.
