Chapter 265 And A New One Begins 7

Chapter 265 And A New One Begins 7

Stacy's appearance was something out of a movie, she was like the belle of the ball… and then there was Alexei too.

Lukas found himself in awe of seeing Stacy, but then again, he had always known that she was a beautiful person inside and out hence why he didn't stare too long. Alexei also happened to make things about him as he literally did fingerguns across the ballroom.

"Hah. This is a sight." Elias couldn't help but let out an amused chuckle at the appearance of the male Vardoken, but he didn't stop moving away.

The young lord of the Aurelius House had places to be, and that was finding his grandfather for example who had yet to return.

Lukas also cast a momentarily glance at the duo, relieved that they were okay, but also apprehensive of the event.

Maybe it was just him, but something didn't seem right.

It was almost as if there was a big something about to unfold and Lukas just didn't know where it would hit them right in the face.

"Should I come with you?" Chaerin noticed Lukas' expression and frowned slightly.

"No. Stay here, it's nothing big… well, I just want to be able to get back here and see you still around." Lukas admitted, already eyeing Elias slipping away from the crowd. "Be right back, love you."

"Love you too…" Chaerin called out to him before Lukas retreated, the not most pleased look on her face, but she wanted to ensure that she was here like he wanted.

The two of them had practically gone through a circle on separation and she did not want to mess things up even further.

As Lukas chased down after Elias, he'd nearly stumble into a white-haired Vampire who had a strange gleam in his eyes.

It was the same Vampire at the building he had crashed into, and while Lukas would have paid more attention, he was focused on following after Elias.

Lukas left the Vampire behind and muttered a rushed apology.

The Vampire from the Argenti House simply crossed his arms and eyed the two strange Vampires on the grand staircase, unnamed and unrecognized… at least until for now.

"Miss Durand, I'm quite pleased to see you around here." He greeted the blue haired Vampire known as Iolathane. "Your information has been most enlightening. It seems like you were right that the Carmilla House had something to show for. They're continuing with this farce, aren't they?"

"I… I'm not sure if this is the right choice." Iolathane rubbed her arm unconsciously. "These two, I don't think they really know what's happening. We should have a private meeting instead of this banquet!"

"Well, they've chosen to show themselves, so it must be allowed for."

To Lukas, it was almost too easy to track down Elias Aurelius and he even used some of the Shadow Steps to make it seamless. However, it became quite clear that he was going through the Carmilla House without the intention of being seen.

'I thought he trusted the folks here, so why is he being so sneaky about it.' Lukas said as he pressed himself against a wall.

About this time, Lukas suddenly had an idea go through his head and he went through the Physical Manipulation to change his features just in case he got seen.

His dark hair changed into a brown color, and he copied the features of Elias… for no reason other than the fact that it was easier to copy someone's face he was seeing.

"Oi!" Lukas called out.

Elias for all his manner, somehow managed to keep his composure because he'd known that Lukas was tailing him. But when he turned to see the guy's new appearance, he frowned.

"You… you seem to be adept in Physical Manipulation." Elias pointed out but then shook his head. "Let's just get going."

"Heh. Not my business huh?" Lukas said as he sauntered beside the young Vampire lord.

"You insist on making it so, but I'm just here to look for my grandfather. I presume he'd be happy to at least see you. Who knows if you're actually one of his long-lost grandson, and you've come here to torment me about it. Your group somehow managed to pull yourself into situations like that."

"Yeah… but shh." Lukas thought he heard something.

The two Vampires saw nothing in the hallway except themselves, but there was a muffle of hushed voices somewhere.

"Probably a private and hidden room." Elias pressed his head against the wall and frowned. "Each noble House at least had secret passageways inside of their abodes and this one is not any different."

Lukas followed suit and thought he heard a familiar old man's voice.

"—meaning of this?!" Leonardo Aurelius roared at someone.

"Calm down, Aurelius!"

"Unacceptable!"

"The two—"

"Nothing. But nothing."

"We don't see how you're acting this way."

"—And humans too!"

"Harlot!"

"This is a shame—"

Elias' heart pounded and for the first time since Lukas met the guy, there was an uncertain look on his face that showed he didn't know what the people inside were talking about.

However, one thing was certain and it was the fact that Leonardo Aurelius was not on the winning side of the argument at all. There was more than one person with him, one sounded like a woman, and the other two were kind of hard to decipher.

Either way, Lukas grabbed for Elias' hand before the guy knocked on the wall.

"Let's do it my way." Lukas whispered.

He wished that Rhea was here to actually pass through walls and check, but she was nowhere in sight.

"Man, got to put a leash on her or something." Lukas said, realized what he just said and grimaced. Elias also sent him a pointed look that said he crossed the line, but Lukas really just wanted to help.

"Will this actually help my grandfather?" Elias asked.

"I'm sure that if it was actually a real problem he'd have burst out already right? Let's just get him out before it escalates." Lukas said.
