Chapter 105: Chapter 105: 3 Days Later



[3rd POV] [3 days later]

A few days had passed since Talia had begun her "Hero" Career. And only a couple of things had happened.

The first was in the form of an article titled "Who is Solaris?" which was written by CatCo, and was mostly just guesses and information about the new Superheroine in National City.

Her stopping Reactron alone wouldn't have given them much information, but, the second thing that had happened during this time, had contributed to the article.

The second thing being her repeated heroic actions. Normally she wouldn't have done so much, but she ended up getting a rather good set of quesst, that was far too easy and rewarding to pass up on.

Details - Defeat villains and Criminals of National City. Main Villains, such as Non, Livewire, Reactron, etc, contribute 10 (1000 in the case of Kryptonians), while normal criminals give 1 progress.

Crime Rings are no more.

Details - Crime rings are a serious issue, even with the likes of Superman existing, so, destroy them so they no longer terrorize the world!

Destroy 10 underground crime rings, be it sex trafficking rings, mafia's, gangs, etc - 5 Levels

Destroy 50 underground crime rings, be it sex trafficking rings, mafia's, gangs, etc - 15 Levels

Destroy 100 underground crime rings, be it sex trafficking rings, mafia's, gangs, etc - 25 Levels

Destroy 500 underground crime rings, be it sex trafficking rings, mafia's, gangs, etc - 35 Levels, 1 Powerful item (Random), and Title.

The sheer amount of levels that could be received were...amazing. Probably because of how long it would actually take to complete some of them, especially the later ones. The easiest was definitely the "Be a Hero" quest, as all she had to do is save a big enough city once and then it'd be over with. Saving the world would finish the quest as a whole, in an instant, so that was another easy way of completion.

With these new quests, she began to go quite deep into being a hero, while still paying attention to the girls. She had brought them on a couple of dates around the city, and even in Metropolis once.

She had, during this time, managed to complete the first subquest for "Crime Rings are no more" and "Villains no More" as well as got roughly 3/4 of the way into the first part of "Be a Hero".

Through this, her Siren class was now level 65, and her Dark Fae was level 54. And with this, she had gotten her next Siren ability, as well as her next item.

[Siren Power 5 - Phaseleech allows the user to absorb the life energy of all living beings to increase their own power as well as any unique abilities their target possessed]

[Villain Hunter - As someone who is hunting down criminals of all kinds, the user is adept in the area. This title has only one benefit to the user, which is: The users power is strengthened by 10% when facing villains. This boost is doubled for every 1,000 criminals defeated]

The weapon itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't exactly useful to her. So, she was waiting for something more...well more.

And now that she had 5 Siren abilities that she knew of, she expected the last two to be ones she didn't know of. As she remembered Steele from the original games, had a Siren ability but never used it. One that she expected to either be related to Ice or Metal. While the 7th and final one was...different, as the games had warned about the 7th siren and how dangerous it was, and how it could never be "Found" whatever that meant.

She was wondering what sort of power it had, to be such a threat, and she was excited to see

what it was.

Anyways, besides her new Siren power that she had yet to use properly (as she didn't have any good targets just yet), she had also been focusing on growing her knowledge.

She had mastered most sciences on Earth, through the usage of Phaseshift. Where, she basically copied the knowledge of entire databases of scientfic knowledge, into her brain. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of different scientific theory, papers, books, teachings, etc, now were sitting in her head. Making her quite easily the most knowledgeable person on the planet in pure scientific knowledge (human knowlege at least).

By abusing this new and rather powerful way of using Phaseshift, she had copied several thousand books on Martial arts, swordsmanship, and other martial arts. Mostly for future fights that might need it.

At the moment though, Talia was in her suit, flying to where a bomb had just went off. From what she had remembered, it was caused by Maxwell Lord, who had bombed his own laboratory to test Kara's different abilities, like strength, speed, etc.

Flying through the skies, Talia narrowed her eyes as she noticed Kara holding the now collapsing building up, it's foundation crumbling from the bomb. She also noticed roughly 50 civilians or so all fleeing from the area, trying to get out of the building before it collapsed. Seeing this, Talia flew down and began to glow a soft golden color. Breathing in, she began to manipulate the solar energy within her, forming it into long vine like constructs, that soon shot out and grabbed every civilian that was fleeing.

"It's Solaris!" A bystander creed out, causing several to notice her floating, glowing form, as she effortlessly lifted the remaining civilians from the building, and lowered them to the ground through her constructs.

At the sight of her, Kara cracked a small smile.

"Sorry I'm late, Supergirl" Talia said as she floated forward, her right hand raised as she

absorbed the flames that were threatening to spread to the rest of the building.

As Talia absorbed the flames, Kara began to use her heat vision to fix the cracking foundations, almost like welding a crack in a piece of metal.

Glancing to the side, Talia noticed a drone watching them 'Not today, Lord' Talia thought, as

a small beam of light exited her, obliterating the drone from existence. "Thanks for the help, Solaris" Kara said, floating to Talia who smiled underneath her helmet.

"Anytime, Supergirl"

"Um, can you help me with something later?" Kara asked, causing Talia to raise an eyebrow, as she glanced at the civilians taking photos of them.

"Let's get somewhere more private, then you can tell me what you need help with"

[A little while later]

"Tell me again why you need help watching Cat's son?" Talia asked, back in her civilian clothing, and walking alongside Kara, who was also in normal clothing.

"Because I have no clue how to babysit a teenage boy" Kara responded, causing Talia to

chuckle. As the two of them walked to the front of the school in which they were picking him

up from.

"Hi! Miss Grant put my name on the list, it's Kara Danvers" Kara said, as they walked up to a lady holding a paper. Seemingly meant for picking up kids/signing them out. "Just need a signature" She replied, causing Kara to lean down and sign her name.

"Thanks, he's all yours. Have fun Carter!"

"Hey! I'm Kara, you remember me from your mom's work?" Kara asked the obviously uncomfortable boy. Talia in response, just snorted, causing Kara to give her a small glare. "And I'm Talia, but I don't think you care about that, do you?" Talia asked, causing the boy to

shake his head.

Chuckling, she glanced at Kara who was also very awkward at the moment. "If you can't tell, neither of us have every babysitted before, so I'm warning you now, it'll be awkward" Talia said with a small chuckle, causing the boy to show a small smile.

"So, you like gaming?" She asked the kid, as she slowly began to walk with him, Kara blinking

in surprise before following closely after.

"Mmhmm" He hummed, still slightly awkward, but slowly warming up to who he deemed to

be a nice lady.

"Then I think we'll get along quite nicely. I've taken the liberty of...sprucing up your mom's

office a bit. Games are much more fun than just sitting around until she's back, after all" Talia said, causing him to glance at her.

"Spruce up?" Kara asked as they walked towards where CatCo was, with it not being that far

away.

"I just installed a console and some other things, that's all. Thought some COD could be fun" Talia responded with a shrug.

"You play Call of Duty?" Carter asked, causing Talia to grin.

"COD, Gears of War, Halo, all sorts of games. Just because I look older, doesn't mean I can't

enjoy a game every once and a while" Talia responded, causing Kara to look at her in slight surprise.

"I didn't know you game" Kara said.

""'I've been gaming for most my life, Kara. It's a pass time I do when bored" Talia said with a shrug, as it was true. She even did game nights with the girls sometimes, mostly Co-Op games and stuff like that, though.

"Are you any good? You're pretty old, I bet you I can totally destroy you in Cod" Carter asked, causing Talia to blink before letting out a small grin. While Kara couldn't help but smile at the

sight. Talia only had one thing to say in response.

"Oh you're so on kid"

Most of it was covering what she had done during those three days, the new quests, and some

other stuff. What should her sixth Siren power be? Canonically there's no explanation for Steele's power. Something like the manipulation of metal, ice, or the motion of objects all sound interesting

to me. But give me some ideas! If I find one I like enough, I'll use it and give you a shoutout at

well!

Next chapter should have more happening, and more than 2500 words.
