Undying Warlord

Chapter 658 Envious Princess?

Dilan was in a tricky situation. He was not yet strong enough to obliterate the three Lesser Archangel Gods, not in an instant.

It would take quite a while before the three Lesser Archangel Gods could obliterate the flying island, and thus destroy everything Dilan wanted to protect.

Goldy was able to tell whether he was telling the truth or lying, and she was the strongest of the three.

That made it difficult for him to tell lies or talk around the bush, especially given that Goldy's power also included that he was more inclined to speaking in all honesty.

This was a frustrating set of powers that caused goosebumps to run down his spine.

'Well, it is not like she is asking for something extreme. As long as she doesn't point out the prophecy everything will be fine…in fact, even if she were to ask about the prophecy, it's not like I have to hide it. The Oracle hasn't forced me to sign a Soul Contract with a non-disclosure agreement or something like that…'

In the end, Dilan simply accepted that he would have to answer a few questions to make sure that his family, friend, and people were fine.

He could also fight, but the final result would be a loss for both sides…and Dilan didn't want to lose.

Dilan ruffled through the back of his hair, understanding that he made a few big mistakes. He had been too arrogant, too full of his power, that he actually misinterpreted the situation.

"Alright, I will answer a few questions. As for the 'debt' or whatever you think I owe you for snatching the Sun God's Divine Relict…forget it! I killed the Sun God and the ring is mine. Don't even think that you can get free answers out of me by guild-trapping me!" Dilan declared, setting up the rules of the Question and Answer round between the three Archangels and Dilan.

It was a little bit weird to switch from fighting one another in a heat to calmly answering questions.

There were also a bunch of questions Dilan had in mind, including the most important; Were SIlver Chicken or Goldy, in fact, Ariel Silvertale?

There might as well be other Lesser Gods of the Essence Angels but he had the weird feeling that Goldy was Ariel Silvertale. He knew that she was a Lesser God, an Essence Angel and that she was a member of the Angel's Haven.

However, he also remembers the day when Ariel Silvertale had proposed to him to abandon the Primordial Ascension's System. This memory lingered in his head and he tried to compare it with Goldy, the Princess of Haven.

"I wonder if you are an envious person…" Dilan suddenly mumbled, looking at Goldy while he was deep in thought.

Silver Chicken looked at Dilan with a 'wow' expression and even Rooster decided to fly a bit further away from Dilan…safety first!

"What did you just say?" Goldy asked in response, smiling faintly in Dilan's direction.

However, Dilan just waved off his hand, ignoring the danger in the Princess of Haven's smile.

"Forget about that, I was just thinking about something that happened in the past."

The dangerous smile on Goldy's lips disappeared when she heard the truth in Dilan's answer.

Both Silver Chicken and Rooster calmed down a bit when Dilan chose to answer the Archangel's earlier questions to show that he was trying to get on the Angel Haven's Alliance good side…whether that was voluntarily or something he did for the sake of the flying island's inhabitants didn't really matter.

"I don't advance as fast as other Ascenders because of the Cursed Blessing [Will of the Primordial], and the Occupational passive ability [Warro's Unparalleled Physique]. Nonetheless, I should have been a Demi God by now but my Tier-4 Advancement mission took longer than expected, though I don't regret it." Dilan answered the first question with a few more pieces of information he chose to add willingly.

He thought about the answer to his second and third questions before he chose that it was for the best to answer honestly…just like Goldy wanted. If she wanted the bitter truth, he would give it to her, but only in small bits before everything would be unveiled the moment she expected it the least. That was his little revenge for pushing him into a corner with no escape!

"As for my plans, it's pretty simple…I will protect whoever and whatever is important to me, even if it will cost my life! This is also one of my future plans… which will force me to become a True God as quickly as possible!"

In the end, Dilan could have given a different answer to the third question, the question that had been about his future plans. After all, his final plan was to make sure that Milarn would be separated from the Universe because of some idiotic prophecy.

Everything Dilan said was nothing but the truth. Goldy understood this very well and she nodded her head.

"All of this might feel a little bit weird right now but are you willing to answer more questions?"

"If the answers satisfy us, I am willing to sign a Soul Contract with you. The flying island will be moved to our territory and none of my people, or the humans we contracted will bother you on the flying island. The flying island will just belong to you!"

Dilan squinted his eyes while looking deep into the golden eyes of Goldy. It was hard to see through her farce but there was something he detected. This something reminded him of someone, which caused him to smile lightly.

"Is that fate or just a bad joke?" Dilan mumbled all of a sudden, causing Godly to halt in her tracks.

She had expected that the mortal human would accept her condition and that he would answer all questions without hesitation. Her offer was simply too good, especially since she offered a Soul Contract as well!

"What do you mean?"

"You will understand soon enough…
