Chapter 312 Thunder Plateau
[Semi-Permanent Gate to (Small Thunder Plateau). <365 Hours>. Conditions to enter are met; Average stats at <35>]
“Two weeks are more than enough…It looks like we won’t have any problems with that Gate,” Dilan said when he saw the <365 Hours> tag which indicated that the Gate would close in roughly two weeks.
The first Vampire families were likely to attack in a week, at the latest. Thus, two weeks were much more than they could spend inside the Thunder Plateau, either way.
Dilan entered it without hesitation and the others followed suit. None of them were restricted by the conditions to enter it.
“Looks like everyones’ stats rose quite a bit,” Dilan mumbled when he turned around after he emerged on the Thunder Plateau.
They had entered a plain that was covered in lush purplish-blue grass. Small hills where monsters were sleeping soundly and a clear lake entered Dilan’s view. The environment of the Thunder Plateau didn’t look special by any means but the scarcity of plants, and rocks attracted Dilan’s interest.
‘It will be difficult to hide from monsters, or to surprise attack them,’ Dilan concluded before he shrugged his shoulders. His Agility was much higher than any Tier-1 monster could reach by normal means. That was more than enough for him to remain calm.
Yvonne soared in the air the moment her black-feathered wings spread out. She observed her surroundings and searched for the area with the highest number of monsters.
It didn’t take long for her to find what she was looking for and she descended once again.
“Looks like I’m lucky. Four groups of monsters are fighting south of us. There are, at least, 10 Gold Tier-1 monsters among them,” Yvonne informed with a smile before she shot in the direction in which her Origin ability led her.
Yvonne was extremely close to death simply because her Origin ability [Angel of Death] increased her sensitivity toward death. This was sometimes a hassle but it also allowed her to find monsters at a much faster rate.
Kathrine’s body was clad in flashes of lightning before she dashed off, following Yvonne. Victoria followed them as well, while Dilan was the only one, who was left behind.
“Since when did they become so eager to fight? I mean I get Victoria’s excitement but Kathrine and Yvonne were never actually that interested in fighting…or am I wrong? Am I missing something?” Dilan was a bit confused because he could tell that he and Victoria were battle maniacs, while Yvonne and Kathrine were just normal Ascenders, who fought because only when they had no other choice.
However, the feeling he had right now was a bit different because it made him believe that both Kathrine and Yvonne were not that different from Victoria.
‘Maybe I really am missing something,’ Dilan just thought as he shrugged his shoulders. It was not something bad if the sisters would become battle maniacs. On the contrary, it may as well be helpful, especially if they wished to become stronger by all means.
Dilan liked it, which was why he didn’t even think about restricting his strength. He activated [Thunder Step], which created a thunderous sound that echoed through the small Thunder Plateau as he set off.
The ground below him crackled as the electric currents surrounding his feet connected to the purplish-blue grass. It sounded quite pleasant and was slowly transforming Dilan’s earlier confused expression to that of joy.
Dilan turned into a purple flash as he brushed past Victoria and Kathrine on the ground. Yvonne was almost in front of the four monster groups that were fighting for the right to become the Overlord of the small territory all of them inhabited.
She was ready to release the two Silver Tier-1 Minotaurs which she could control with her Origin ability but noticed that this was not even necessary.
Her Origin ability gave her a prior intimation about a massacre that was waiting to happen, which was why Yvonne could only stare down at the ground as she hovered in the air in front of them.
Yvonne was the only existence in the air right now and she was about to witness Dilan’s terrific strength from a bird’s eye view. This excited her a bit as she circulated mana through her body to increase the clarity and focus of her eyes.
When Dilan emerged in the middle of the fighting crowd, a huge explosion resounded as he bashed into several monsters at once.
A Thunadra Rhinoceros had punctured a Thundermane Lion with its tusk just a moment ago, which resulted in it roaring out in fury.
The Thunadra Rhinoceros had been extremely fast and agile despite its heavy and huge body which would normally result in a decrease of its speed.
But it was merely a moment after the Thunadra Rhinoceros was able to roar out, that it was flung through the air. Its cry of victory died down and a tremendous force had impacted on the Thunadra Rhinoceros, nearly killing it moments after it was supposed to have won the fight.
The monster crashed heavily on the ground, sending dirt and rubble flying all over the place but before it could even react its body became even heavier. It was impossible for the monster to move as something light landed on its body, piercing straight through its chest.
“This ability is really interesting,” Dilan mumbled to himself as he pierced the Thunderbolt dagger in the Thunadra Rhinoceros’ chest.
[-Switch- has been activated. Please select how you wish to relocate your stats!]
[15 Health Units have been deducted. Strength has been increased by 15 Units!]
Dilan didn’t waste his time with the dead corpse below him. He threw a short glance at the notifications that appeared after he used his new ability. It was certainly useful to have such an ability and the only downside was probably the long cooldown before he could use it again.
After he activated [Switch] once, he would have to wait 10 Minutes. That was an inconvenience but it was not actually something he could avoid.
Dilan had to be more careful when to activate [Switch] because of the cooldown, which was actually something good. He wouldn’t use it recklessly then!
With a small stride, Dilan jumped on the Thunadra Rhinoceros’ head, where the punctured Thundermane Lion was still struggling.
It was close to death and Dilan didn’t want to waste this opportunity.
He slashed out once, thereby killing the monster before he turned back to the other monsters. All of them were staring at him as if they had finally found a common enemy.
Many of the monsters were severely injured but none of them were fighting anymore. Dilan looked at this with a bright smile as he began to feel the adrenaline coursing through his body.
He began to feel excited and his grip over the Thunderbolt dagger tightened as he manifested a second one. His free hand reached out for the Thunderbolt dagger just before Dilan bent down.
His posture changed instantly while his eyes gleamed in cold fury, which clearly showed that he had not joined the party for fun.
Dilan had come for blood…their blood!
When he leaned forward, Dilan merely waited a second or two until he released his entire power.
With an Agility crossing 130 Units after [Thunder Step] was activated, and a Strength close to 100 Units, Dilan was not to be held back anymore.
He turned into a purple dash causing death and destruction.
Meanwhile, Victoria and Kathrine had appeared in front of the battlefield as well.
“Leave some for us as well!!” Kathrine shouted in frustration, while Victoria could only smile with a devilish glee as she joined the fray.
“If you want some, then come and take them! Don’t complain, little chipmunk~~”
