Chapter 74: Demon Lord, The Playground (5)
Aleron found himself in a huge cavern. Right in front of him was a 100-meter statue of a black-horned being. He had a demonic appearance, wore cool full body armor from the carvings of the statue, and its eyes faintly glowed red, making it appear lifelike.
'Cool,' Aleron nodded as he looked at the statue.
[Dread-mode Trial begins.]
[Survive for 10 minutes to win.]
*Dhrrr....khr...*
Aleron heard the monotone notification and the whole cavern, one kilometer in diameter, started shaking violently as cracks appeared all over the floors, walls, and even ceiling.
Just as he floated up to avoid cracks beneath him, they spewed out a bunch of demonic wolves, all of them at early-stage Primeval rank.
The demonic wolves numbered 10 and all of them had eccentric magical patterns on their body, a glowing obsidian horn with red patterns, and gray eyes matching their light gray fur. [Neferite Regar Wolf]

Aleron adorne his Magilore Slime Armor shimmering with an iridescent glow as it responded to his thoughts. The armor wrapped around him like a second skin five inches thick, providing a massive boost to his physical stats and enhanced magical abilities as an active reserve of Magilore.
"Awooo!"
Some wolves pounced at Aleron with their glowing claws while some wolves opened their mouths to release a whirling red-gray cyclone of glowing metal shards bearing great power.
Aleron blinked and vanished from his spot, teleporting behind the wolves who released long- range attacks and waving his hand.
*Swooosh!*
'Blazing Chakram.'
A blazing chakram formed, spinning intensely as it flew around and sliced off all five wolves.
'This will be a good place to practice creating skills fast,' Aleron grinned as he looked at the other five wolves who initially attacked him with claws turning around to open their mouths and releasing the long-range attack like the wolves.
The red-gray vertical cyclons bearing intense offensive power struck Aleron, but the Magilore Slime Armor simply absorbed their power.
"Nice attack," Aleron laughed as he pointed his palms at the wolves, releasing a vertical cyclone filled with blazing metal shards, sharp, and compressed with power.
They hit the wolves and exploded in fiery spectacles.
But just as those last five wolves died, a powerful roar echoed as more monsters started appearing out of cracks.
Aleron's eyes glowed with excitement, thrilled to fight to his heart's content during these ten minutes of survival.
The next wave of demonic beasts was a horde of spiked-shell turtles, their shells had exotic blue patterns of their blood, and their aura was frigid icy.
In response, Aleron grinned and conjured two flame swords, layering them with a bunch of Arcane Syllasbuses to increase their power.
'Dance of Twin Flame Blades.'
Both swords flew around in a vortex around the turtles, trapping them just as they released their ice-based attacks.
All of them had a bit higher stats than wolves, but not much.
Alas, they couldn't even last for a few seconds as their attacks failed to break the vortex formed by two swords that Aleron controlled.
Instead, the Flame Rend Slashes Aeleron released from both swords sliced all monsters in the next second.
'Next.'

Everyone outside could watch Aleron's trial as the cube released a hologram screen displaying it when Ben touched it and activated the function.
Seeing Aleron fighting with such ease against the terrifying monsters that could destroy any normal city was shocking.
But when they thought about how Aleron forced that demon to escape and still killed the demon with an arrow, they felt that it was normal for Aleron to defeat those monsters easily. Still, as they watched Aleron fighting new monsters with new and exotic skills, they felt a rush of excitement.
All of them in the hall were players. People who loved fighting and had a thirst to get stronger. Seeing Aleron displaying his crazy prowess made them dream of becoming as powerful as
him.
As the ten-minute countdown neared and the trial reached its last minute, the cracks
strangely vanished.
"Eh? Isn't there still one minute left?"
"Yeah. Maybe he killed all the monsters?"
"I wouldn't be surprised. He killed all waves in seconds, after all."
"The statue!"
Aleron was also surprised, but the confusion was cleared soon as the statue in the huge cavern glowed.
As if the earth on it was just coating, it fell and revealed a real demonic humanoid with real metallic armor, wild hair, light red skin, and glowing red eyes with eccentric patterns on his forehead and all over the body.
'This is more powerful than that demon,' Aleron raised his eyebrows.

'Holy shit, he got Magilore energy!' Aleron was startled. 'Wait....does that mean it can break
through my Magilore Armor?'
Demon Lord Jargus's eyes glowed before his forehead opened a round orb that released a terrifying crimson laser whirling with bright red and dark orange sparks towards Aleron, which instantly struck his Magilore armor as he couldn't even react.
*Boom!*
An explosion occurred as Aleron was smacked into the wall almost a kilometer away in a
second.
Looking down, he checked the spot where he was struck and saw that there was a burnt mark on the armor where that laser hit him. However, that burnt mark was swiftly recovered. However, he saw that around 1 million of his Magilore energy was used to recover that!
'Damn!'
'Alright, my quality of Magilore is lower than his due to my Magic Pontecy being way lower, so my random attack skills won't work on him either.'
Aleron activated his Monitor Dome, fueling it with a couple of million Magilore energy.
Using Monitor Dome, he would be able to react to the Demon Lord's attacks.
And indeed. He felt a surge of power from Demon Lord and without even looking at anywhere
else, he directly teleported to another spot.
*Boom!*
A super-fast laser had once again struck the same spot where he was just half a second ago!
However, his heart jumped to his throat as he sensed another attack, but it was too late as the
laser struck his armor again.
Looking at the Magilore consumption of the Demon Lord, its one attack cost him 1000 Magilore while Aleron needed 1,000,000 Magilore to recover from the damage done by that laser attack that used 1000 Magilore.
'I have to be constantly on the move and use my best attacks.' Aleron's mind closed off everything except for the pool of Arcane knowledge he had gathered
from thousands of books and scrolls.
While fueling his Magilore Slime Armor with Magilore and constantly teleporting around
with partial thought, Aleron started creating a skill.
He wasn't even looking or paying attention to the Demon Lord. He was just teleporting
around.
Thirty seconds remained.
Outside in the hall, all the people were overwhelmed.
"Only thirty seconds left! Dread-mode will finally open, haha."
"True. It's been over a hundred years since this cube appeared, and it will finally open the
Dread-mode today."
"Those attacks aren't even putting a scratch on him due to that Armor. Crazy. He wins this
easily. Only 25 seconds left to survive."
"Survive?" Yueha softly snorted as the people were heatedly talking. 'Master will defeat it.'
The trial was just about surviving, and not defeating this Demon Lord. However, Aleron wanted to defeat this Demon Lord Jargus before the survival countdown!
