Trillionaire's Slice of Life

Chapter 2: Chapter 002 Unlimited Credit

The sunlight overhead was slowly tilting westward; looking up slightly, one could see the towering skyscrapers lining the streets, their steel and concrete construction making the modern city dazzling and eye-catching.

Here, if you don't have a steadfast and strong heart, it's really easy to get lost in the glitz and glamour.

Chu Mo was just a second-tier university graduate with no particularly impressive skills to boast of, and considering he hadn't spent his four years of college in diligent study, his successive interview rejections after graduation were no surprise.

Resorting to his old expertise, he became a freelance writer, a result of being driven into a corner.

In his toughest times, he once subsisted on instant noodles for three straight months, and to this day, the 182 cm tall Chu Mo was still twenty pounds underweight, a testament to that dark period in his life.

Having been battered by society, three years of post-graduate life taught Chu Mo tolerance and contentment with what he had…!

There was nothing to be done; one could only enjoy the fruits of what their abilities allowed them to achieve!

Given his current state, unless he toughened up and left the bustling metropolis to return home, accept the arranged dates his parents set up, then live a quiet life in his small, fifth-tier hometown.

Otherwise, in this cold city, even finding a girlfriend to struggle alongside with was an impossibility.

But all of that was in the past.

Touching the gold-plated bank card in his pocket, even though he had cooled off for half an hour in the café, Chu Mo's palms were still sweaty.

He had already verified on his phone that the balance of 50,000 yuan in his WeChat wallet was clear as day.

However, to determine if this card truly had unlimited credit, Chu Mo still needed to verify it himself; after all, seeing is believing.

Leaving the café, there was an Agricultural Bank not far from the Wan Da CBD. Chu Mo carrying his laptop made his way to the ATM beside the bank, taking the spot just vacated by an elderly man who had finished making a withdrawal.

Chu Mo's sweaty palms inserted the gold card into the slot, and he once again tried to recall the voice that had echoed in his mind before.

The password was eight eights, no mistake.

His trembling fingers entered the password, clicked to confirm, and then pressed for a balance inquiry!

"Verifying..."

"Balance: 100,000,000,000,000..."

Just how many zeros were there?

He hadn't counted them accurately.

He widened his eyes, trying hard to see if there were any decimal points after the "1"...

There weren't; indeed, there weren't.

So, this was truly a bank card with unlimited credit.

His trembling fingers miraculously returned to normal, and even his pounding heart started to settle down.

Chu Mo didn't know what was happening to him; it was as if his soul had left his body, and everything unfolding before him was like watching a movie.

Everything was so unreal.

Since his hands stopped shaking, it was time to take care of some business. He took out his wallet from his pocket, then retrieved his usual salary card, entering its number.

The maximum transfer amount for ATM machines should be 200,000 yuan, but this sum was nowhere near enough for his expenses. To buy a house and a car in the bustling metropolis, and to live a comfortable life with his beloved, he would likely need at least tens of millions of yuan.

With a bit of trepidation, Chu Mo entered a transfer amount of ten million, intending to confirm. After a slight hesitation, he nonchalantly added a zero at the end.

He clicked confirm; shortly after, his phone in his pocket vibrated.

Pulling out his budget Xiaomi phone, a new unread message appeared on the screen.

"Your card with the last digit 0071 has received a transfer (inter-bank remittance) of 100,000,000 yuan on May 4 at 16:12 from the Agricultural Bank; balance 100,012,000 yuan. (Agricultural Bank)"

100 million yuan, just like that, was his.

Yet, as he looked at the string of zeros on his phone, Chu Mo felt no sense of reality—it was as if those numbers were truly meaningless.

After a moment of hesitation, Chu Mo retrieved the golden card and walked toward the bank's main hall.

The system had said before that the use of this bank card was absolutely safe, and since the unlimited credit was real, Chu Mo naturally chose to believe the system's word.

The ceiling of the bank's main hall was extremely high; the clean and tidy hall bustled with people coming and going. The setting sun's rays poured through the hall's glass, spilling onto the lustrous floor and carrying a touch of warmth.

Entering the hall, he found a staff member and explained that he wanted to withdraw money. The employee in the suit asked,

"Sir, how much would you like to withdraw?"

Hearing this, Chu Mo's expression paused slightly—he had simply wanted to withdraw some cash for emergency use and hadn't decided on an amount. Yet, thinking of the one hundred million in his bank account, he hesitated slightly before saying directly,

"Five hundred thousand... no, make it three hundred thousand."

"Three hundred thousand? Very well, sir, please wait in the VIP room!"

Following the staff up to the second-floor VIP room, Chu Mo found the ambiance here exceptionally quiet and serene compared to the hustle and bustle below. Upon entering the room, he was greeted by two sofa sets a coffee table laden with snacks, and a tea set.

An open counter window was attended by staff members.

Chu Mo sat on the sofa waiting. As the sound of light, rhythmic tapping from high-heeled shoes approached, within moments, a woman with a delicate face appeared before him.

The woman, seemingly in her early twenties, wore a dark blue sleeveless blazer that hugged her figure, accentuating her curves and revealing a youthful and noble grace. Paired with black casual pants, the simple ensemble exuded a clean and refreshing intellectual beauty.

Approaching Chu Mo, the woman with a perfect face smiled and said in a clear voice,

"Hello, sir. I'm Ling Yue, Manager of the Financial Department at the Magic Capital branch... Ah, you're Chu Mo, aren't you?!"

The words that reached his ears brought Chu Mo, who had been feeling as if he was walking on air, firmly back to reality.

Looking up at the woman in front of him, who had a beauty score of ninety-three, Chu Mo's eyes widened in surprise as he exclaimed,

"Ling Yue? Is that really you?"

As he called out the name, Chu Mo suddenly felt as if fate was playing tricks on him. Ling Yue was his old classmate from college; after three years, he had no idea she was working so close by.

Had he not received the unlimited credit card today, he wouldn't have visited the bank, and he certainly wouldn't have encountered his old classmate.

It seemed, in some way, that all of this was meant to be.

"Just now I was wondering who the big client was, withdrawing three hundred thousand in cash in one go. I couldn't believe it was you, an old classmate! Back in school, I never saw any signs that you were a second-generation rich kid. I really didn't expect it, Chu Mo—it seems you've hidden it so well!"

Hearing this, Chu Mo shook his head lightly, his face bearing a wry smile as he sighed,

"What second-generation rich kid? Just small fry!"

Ling Yue rolled her eyes teasingly, with a coquettish flick of her slender finger combing her hair beside her ear, her tone playful yet slightly annoyed as she said,

"With an esteemed customer like you, our bank gives priority to servicing you. Don't be so modest or we'd simply have no place to hide! Old classmate, you owe me a chance—it's time for tea some afternoon... But first, let me process your transaction."

Handing over his bank card along with his ID to her, Chu Mo spoke softly, his face filled with wistfulness,

"Ling Yue, you were the school belle, after all. Back then, any guy who could say a few more words to you was incredibly proud..."

Taking the bank card from Chu Mo's hand, Ling Yue then swiped the card on the machine and watched as Chu Mo entered his PIN. Previously relaxed, Ling Yue's gaze inadvertently caught sight of the long string of zeros on the screen.

A shiver ran through her, and in the next instant, she unconsciously lowered her head, her dazzling eyes under the fringe of her bangs filled with shock.

Unless she was mistaken, the account balance seemed to be one hundred million.

Originally, Ling Yue had thought that her old classmate withdrawing three hundred thousand in cash at once meant he could be worth over a million. But now, seeing the deposit of one hundred million with her own eyes,

Ling Yue knew that her old classmate was truly not as simple as he seemed on the surface.

With gritted teeth, Ling Yue's gaze became fiery at that moment.
