Transmigrate to another world

All I feel is burning fury as I see Ruby disappear. I lunge even more towards the demon and leap at it before it can turn around to face me head on. I ram Blitz in the back of his upper body and push him all the way down before my shoulder hits the demon. The demon spins on the spot and sends me flying again, but Blitz is still lodged in his body.

I spin and roll in the air and land on my feet in front of the demon, who tries to pull Blitz out with his remaining arm. I pounce on the demon again and jump on its back, grab the arm trying to pull Blitz out, plant my feet on its shoulder and pull. I put my whole body into it and pull the arm with all my might!

"CRACK!"

I free the demon's broken arm and stand up, then, as the demon roars in pain, I grab his shoulder, pull myself up and sink my teeth into the side of his neck. The demon's blood floods my mouth, it tastes bitter and burnt, but although it is disgusting at the same time, it is somehow satisfying.

The demon reaches out with its broken arm and grabs me, pulling me free, losing a chunk of its shoulder and neck in the process.

It rears up like a horse and throws me, this time instead of throwing me against the wall, it throws me straight down. I don't have time to get my feet under me and I fall to the ground with impressive force, and before I can roll backwards, he stomps me with both front legs hitting me in the chest and stomach.

I swallow the piece of meat in my mouth reflexively when I get hit, and I don't miss the opportunity to grab the leg by the chest and stretch my neck forward to bite it. I feel the bone crack and break under my jaws as I bite down with all my might. The demon howls in pain and leaps, leaving the lower half of its leg behind.

It lands badly on three legs, all with wounds, as it staggers I leap to my feet and flex my hands. My claws shoot out and extend further than I knew they could. I crouch and leap towards the demon, moving too fast for it to react before I punch it in the chest and dig my claws in, as it roars in pain I rise up until we are face to face and then use Lion's Roar.

I smile when I see the blood start to drip from his ears. I drop to the ground and dig my claws into its chest and stomach. I quickly leap backwards to dodge it as the demon throws an arm strike at me. At that moment I could let the demon bleed out and die from the wounds, but that wouldn't satiate the rage boiling inside me.

So I attack it again, act like I'm leaping towards its chest again, but when it raises its arm in defense, I tackle its remaining foreleg instead.

"CRACK!"

When my full weight falls on him, the demon's knee bends backwards and I have to roll quickly to keep him from landing on me. Now the demon can't stand upright and his movements have become slower, probably due to blood loss. I start darting in and out, which makes it keep moving and every now and then I give it a swipe with my claws.

It takes me a few minutes to finally get the shot I wanted. I duck to dodge the slow swipe of his arms and run my claws across his throat as I pass in front of him. He immediately covers his throat with his hand to stop the flow of blood.

I circle around and run down his back as he tries to keep his throat closed. I reach over and grab his chin with one hand and the back of his head with the other. Then I twist him as hard as I can.

"CRACK!!!"

And with that the demon is finally dead! He slumps forward and lies face down underneath me. I take a deep breath and let out a roar that contains all my rage, hatred, sadness and anguish.

The roar continues until I run out of breath. I then fall to my knees on the demon and clutch the amulet on my chest with both hands as I cry tears of loss. Unbeknownst to me, my roar echoes in the stone.

The roar reaches all the way to the capital and everyone in the city hears it for several minutes. Everyone also feels the small earthquake caused by the roar, including the king.

Ruby whispers, "I'm not dead! But it's nice to know you care so much."

"Ruby!!!"

Ruby whispers, "I'm a spirit, remember? My physical body is made of energy."

"So, are you okay?"

Ruby whispers, "Well, I wouldn't say fine, but alive. It will take me a few days to get my energy back."

"I'm so glad you're alive!"

I wipe away my tears as a smile breaks out on my face, Ruby is alive! I can feel her now that I'm paying attention, she's already sound asleep. Somehow, I doubt she'll forget she was crying and I'm sure I'll find out later.

I get up wearily, with the goofy grin still on my face. I finally realize I'm still on top of the demon and see Blitz's hilt peeling off his back a foot away from me. I reach out and grab the hilt to pull Blitz off the demon's body. As my hand touches the hilt, a massive darkness swells up and engulfs me.
