Titan Rising Online: World Breaker

Chapter 241 241: Part 1: Energy Wave

Earth came to a pause, for just a second of a second, a tiny infinitesimal period of time where everything came to a half and it's entire surface was always with energy. Nobody noticed it, not even the earth itself, but there was an Aura in the air, those that were sensitive enough could feel it, others just felt a shiver on their skin, a chill on a rather hot morning, a warning of things to come.

Locking was an elf in disguise, for the last few months he had been living in the English countryside, which frankly speaking was a bit of a punishment for him as he long for the giant trees of his home world's forest. They were some of the most beautiful piece of nature's architecture that he has ever seen, and he hoped that one day he would get the chance to do so again, and if at all he never gets the chance to go back home, he hoped that he could at least make a home for himself on this disgusting planet.

There was a lot of things to be said about earth, it was eerie, the air felt fetid and befouled. Nothing of the Freshness he knew came from home was here with him. Even as he relegated himself to the country side, trying his hardest to plant more trees to combat the sheer volume of smog that poisoned the atmosphere. Never the less while most of the population on earth were unable to tell what had just happened with the chill that passed over the surface of the planet.

But Locking could tell an Energy wave apart from a cold wave any time any day. Especially as he was feeling so starved of the energy. Now everything seems to resonate with new life, the trees, the grass, the air, even his bloody clothes. If he could cry he would, he knew this had only happened due to the advent of the 5th floor, and there will be many more Mana waves to saturate the planet or rather the entire universe and make it more malleable for assimilation.

But regardless right now, this meant that finally earth was ready for the one thing that was expected of him after he was exiled here. It was time to build a dungeon town that would serve as an outpost for his people. With the assimilation, Earth will experience a period of exponential growth, one so powerful that treasures so rare would be found, and treasures never before seen in existence would be born and introduced to the universe. He was giddy with anticipation.

There would definitely be a new all powerful resource unique to the new universe that would be spawned. Analyst have been saying for decades that perhaps it would be an alchemical ingredient that could be the secret to eternal life, or perhaps a pathway to the system where one can finally learn the secrets of the universe. This was a race for power, for so many years all of the major forces had been at a stalemate, this was a chance for them to move ahead of the competition and be the ultimate power in the universe, or perhaps a new power would rise to challenge the status quo.

Locking has been around the humans of this universe long enough to know that they cant and should never be underestimated. They were like the wind, fickle and unsure and would blow in any direction they damn well please. And as foolish as they were, and disunities, they were willful and can withstand incredible amounts of punishment to come back stronger and harder, and with the right resources?.....odds are they would be the most powerful minds in the universe.

Locking shook his head, he had a task to do. With this saturation of manner, it was time. He took a step forward and pulled out a glowing rock that had been grafted to his chest. He felt an intense amount of pain and his entire body shuddered from the sound of the rock tearing off his flesh. If you looked a little closer at it, you would notice bloody strings, and blood vessels that were attached to him from the rock…. The damn thing was a parasite, stuck to him as it drained him of his blood and energy. But now it was free to drain the Vitality of this accursed world.

There was a dull rumble as soon as the rock touched the ground. The earth seemed to split and moan out in indignation and pain as the rock grew new roots and stabbed them deep into the earth. Locking could hear them burrowing, deeper and deeper by the second, assimilating, swallowing, excavating and growing. He began to step back as from the rock, bark began to grow, giving way to massive roots and as equally massive and sinuous trunk formed. Soon branches sprouts, each the side of a house, the countryside rapidly swallowed by a tree of epic proportions.

Locking moved back, trying his best to give as much space as he could to the growing world tree. But he had miscalculated, the world tree in it's hunger would never let go of what had been it's sustenance. Locking ran, but it's roots seemed to pier e the very void as they swallowed him up, his screaming voice drowned as he was buried beneath the massiveness of the tree. His face appeared on one side of the trunk, his visage etched in a rictus snarl/scream of pain and desolation, and then at the base of the tree two massive wooden doors were formed.

Etched over them were flowing elfish scripts, but it was a gate. And one that would remain shut until someone opens it up. But to open it up would be to invite disaster, to invite into this world the legions of elves that were waiting for it. But they had miscalculated the fact that Locking who was supposed to open the door for them, had been swallowed up by their own gateway, and now it was there waiting for someone to unleash them into the world, or for someone else to claim it.
