There’s Something Wrong With These Demonic Women!

Chapter 73: I'm Not A Child

Chapter 73: I'm Not A Child

The next morning, the sunshine was brilliant.

The little fox woke up from her slumber and immediately checked her blanket. She found that she was still tightly wrapped in it, and her anxious heart finally settled. However, she soon faced another issue: how could she retrieve her bellyband and undergarments? If she remembered correctly… they should still be in the outer chamber.

"Lu Xun? Lu Xun?"

The little fox tentatively called out a couple of times, but there was no response from the room. Her mind started to race.

Wrapping herself in the blanket, she carefully got out of bed and twisted her body as she moved toward the outer room. She parted the curtains… poked her head out and found no sign of him. Pouting her lips, she murmured, "Where is he? Did he go outside?"

Forget it…

I don't care where he went. In any case, I just need to retrieve my bellyband and undergarments.

Twisting and turning, the little fox made her way to the outer room. She diligently searched for her clothes that she left there, but after looking around, she couldn't find her bellyband and undergarments anywhere. She was a bit bewildered. She clearly left them by the bath last night, so how had they disappeared this morning?

Just as the little fox was feeling perplexed, she heard the sound of the door unlocking behind her. Startled, she quickly flipped into the bathtub, leaving only half of her head visible, warily watching the wooden door that could swing open at any moment.

"Oh my?"

"Why are you hiding in the bathtub?" Lu Xun entered the room and saw the sandalwood tub in the corner. The little fox was peeking out with half of her head visible, watching him warily. He curiously asked, "What are you doing?"

"Where did you go?" With a furrowed brow, Xuan Shi murmured, "You disappeared early in the morning."

"I went to have breakfast."

"I heard the oil cakes here are great. They also have soy milk, steamed buns, noodle soup, and wontons." Lu Xun smiled and continued, "I know you like sweet things, so I brought you sugar cakes. I've got twenty of them."

Hearing that he had gone to buy food for her, the little fox clenched her lips tightly, turned her face away, and mumbled, "If they're not delicious, I'll make you regret it!"

"…"

"The three of you have almost identical temperaments."

"Sometimes I don't even know who I'm talking to. Your sister Xuan Yin and your Master also threaten to kill me, chop me up, or murder me at the drop of a hat…" Lu Xun walked to the table, placed a couple of food boxes on it, and smiled.

He turned to the little fox in the tub and asked, "Aren't you coming out? How long do you plan to stay in there?"

"I…"

"My legs are short… I can't get out." The little fox lowered her head, her face reddening, and muttered, "You… you quickly lift me out."

Lu Xun walked over to the edge of the tub and looked at the little fox wrapped tightly in the blanket. He chuckled, "I thought you were like last night, not wearing anything again."

Speaking of last night's embarrassing incident, the little fox's face instantly turned red. Intense embarrassment surged through her body again. Even her breathing started to quicken. She clenched her lower lip and angrily said, "You already mentioned it before… and now you're bringing it up in front of me again."

"There's no one else here."

"Come on… I'll lift you out." Lu Xun bent down at his waist, one hand passing through the crook of her legs, the other through her back, and he gently lifted the delicate and tender Xuan Shi out horizontally.

This was the third time he had carried her in his arms. The first time was at the dilapidated temple, the second time was last night, and the third time was this morning. From resistance to tacit consent and then to actively requesting it, the little fox didn't know what she had gone through. All she knew was that she had become like this in a muddle-headed way.

"Well…"

"My… my clothes?" Being carried in his arms like a fluffy caterpillar, the little fox blushed, and she asked in a slightly distressed voice, "The clothes I was wearing inside, how come… how come I can't find them?"

"I put them on the bed. Didn't you notice?"

Lu Xun carried the petite and soft little fox and slowly walked into the bedroom. He gently placed her on the bed and pointed to the delicate light green bellyband and undergarments. He said leisurely, "Look… aren't these your bellyband and undergarments? And your clothes too."

"Ah?"

"Oh… I… didn't see." The little fox glanced at her clothes, bellyband, and undergarments. Feeling a bit embarrassed, she urged, "Quickly leave… I need to get dressed!"

If it were the big and little demonesses on the bed, Lu Xun might have teased a bit, but when it came to the little fox, he was more inclined to accommodate her. He silently walked out of the room, leaving her alone on the bed.

The little fox breathed a sigh of relief, pulled out one of her arms, quickly grabbed a bellyband, and then with a swift movement, slipped into the blanket, starting to change clothes hastily.

After a while, the little fox sat in the outer room, devouring the sugar cakes Lu Xun had bought. Her rosy cherry-like mouth was smeared with sugar syrup and oil, making it even more translucent and tempting, as if urging someone to open their mouth and take a few hearty bites.

"We'll buy you bedding in a moment, then we'll head back. Don't keep Xuan Yin and your Master waiting impatiently," Lu Xun sat beside her, watching the little fox wolf down the food, and spoke softly.

"Mhmm…" The little fox, busy with the sugar cakes, replied briefly, no longer paying attention to Lu Xun.

After finishing the sugar cakes, the little fox followed Lu Xun out of the guest room. At this moment, she seemed like a well-behaved young wife, displaying none of the mischievousness from the previous day, emphasizing the word ‘obedient.'

Once they had purchased the bedding, the two headed out of the small town together. The streets were bustling with activity. Lu Xun walked a bit slowly, and the little fox by his side was equally unhurried. They didn't engage in much conversation as they walked along.

"Lu Xun…" The little fox suddenly spoke up.

"Hmm?"

"What's wrong?" Lu Xun asked casually.

"I…"

"I…" The little fox opened her mouth, but her words seemed to get stuck in her throat. She couldn't seem to say anything.

"If you don't want to say or don't know what to say, then don't force it," Lu Xun said gently. "When you're ready to speak, or when you want to say something, just come and talk to me."

The little fox pursed her small mouth and murmured, "Do you… do you think of me as a child?"

As her words fell, she suddenly grabbed his sleeve, standing still and staring straight at Lu Xun, "Listen to me!"

"I'm not a child!"

"I'm already over two hundred years old," the little fox said with all seriousness.

Looking at the little fox beside him, her cute and delicate face showing a stern expression, Lu Xun couldn't help but smile faintly. He lifted his hand and gently patted her head.

"I understand."

"Let's keep going." Lu Xun walked silently, continuing down the street.

The little fox frowned as she watched his retreating figure and pouted, muttering to herself, "You really don't know anything at all…"
