Jia Shu, with a half-smile, looked at Qiu Tu and said, "Qiu Tu, don't worry too much about this task. Now that you're part of the Political Division, we won't let you fight alone. We'll create some conditions for you and provide support."

Hearing Jia Shu's words, Qiu Tu felt relieved. Right, the Qin family was such a powerful force that he couldn't possibly take them down alone.

Then he heard Jia Shu continue with a smile, "When the time comes, I'll have the Director arrange for Miss Qin to visit her family. You, as the head of her security team, will accompany her into the Qin family and start your investigation. With Miss Qin's trust in you, I believe you can easily uncover the Qin family's secrets and complete the task."

Qiu Tu's heart sank upon hearing Jia Shu's words. This wasn't going to be easy.

Jia Shu continued, "Moreover, I can even guide your investigation. Previously, you reported to the Director that you suspected Miss Qin was connected to the City Council, but there was no evidence to support this suspicion. However, you did witness Miss Qin's connection to the RUF. So, you might have guessed wrong about her allegiance. Maybe she and the Qin family are not connected to the City Council but are instead supporters of an anti-government organization!"

A cruel smile appeared on Jia Shu's thin face, and his transparent glasses glinted coldly. "Follow this direction in your investigation, and you won't go wrong!"

At that moment, Qiu Tu felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him, chilling him to the core. Jia Shu had effectively cornered him, leaving him no escape. He had "witnessed" Qin Shuman "bribing" him and directing the RUF to make him famous. Whether the Qin family was connected to the City Council was uncertain, but they were definitely involved with the RUF.

If Qin Shuman was colluding with the RUF and didn't avoid him, then he should easily find evidence of the Qin family's connection to the RUF. While murder and arson might not bring down the Qin family, colluding with anti-government forces certainly would.

This left Qiu Tu with two options: provide concrete evidence of the Qin family's collusion with the RUF, withstand the Qin family's retaliation, and destroy them, proving his loyalty; or, have his lies exposed and face the consequences.

Qiu Tu's emotions surged, but he forced himself to remain calm. His thoughts raced as he devised a counter-strategy.

After a moment, he deliberately furrowed his brow and said, "Sir, your direction for the investigation is very insightful, but isn't it too hasty? Miss Qin just bribed me today, and now the Director is arranging for her to visit her family and has promoted me to accompany her. Such obvious arrangements might raise suspicion."

Jia Shu looked at Qiu Tu with interest, "What do you suggest?"

Qiu Tu said seriously, "I think the Director shouldn't arrange for her to visit her family. She should propose it herself."

Seeing Jia Shu's eyes behind his glasses flash as if in thought, Qiu Tu didn't give him time to ponder and directly presented his plan.

He pointed to the Aurora Stone on the desk and said, "I don't know what this stone is, but considering how seriously Miss Qin, the Director, and you treat it, it must be valuable. I hope the office can provide me with more similar items and relevant information. Then, I'll meet with Miss Qin, tell her about my discoveries, and ask her to arrange my next steps. Discussing such confidential matters can't be done in the Director's villa, so I'll suggest she propose visiting her family, claiming she was frightened by the attack."

"In this way, everything will seem reasonable. Miss Qin and the Qin family won't suspect anything, and they might even trust me more because I brought valuable items. This will allow me to investigate the Qin family's collusion with the RUF more effectively."

After Qiu Tu finished speaking, the room fell silent.

Yan Chen and Jia Shu remained silent, considering his proposal.

Was Qiu Tu reasonable? Yes.

Was his plan better? Yes.

But they just felt something was wrong.

How could they give back the stone that they just obtained? And they need to give out more materials.

Didn’t it sound like a scam?

Did Qiu Tu want to escape with the stone?

As they thought for a while, Yan Chen spoke, "Qiu Tu, this item is called the Aurora Stone. Although not particularly valuable, it is a controlled substance. Even I cannot freely obtain it from the department. Your plan is good, but I need to think about it."

Yan Chen paused and then dismissed Qiu Tu, "Tonight, go back and rest. Tomorrow, I'll have someone give you an answer."

Hearing Yan Chen’s, Qiu Tu was somehow surprised.

He was right. Qiu Tu planned to cheat Yan Chen and get some materials. He was to mess up the situation totally and to find new solutions.

Qiu Tu even thought he could leave with Qin Shuman and the materials cheated from Yan Chen if he couldn’t find any solutions.

But how could he refuse it?

This refusal made him realize the Aurora Stone's value deeperly.

‘If the Aurora Stone’s value is that great, Yan Chen couldn't afford to lose me.’

‘How about messing things up more thoroughly?’

Qiu Tu suddenly found the key to resolve the situation while thinking.

With their hidden agendas, Qiu Tu was sent out of the study by Jia Shu.

After stepping out, Qiu Tu took the initiative to salute and bid farewell to Jia Shu. Jia Shu didn’t say much but gave Qiu Tu a pat on the shoulder with a faint smile, saying, "Not bad, very good."

As Qiu Tu walked away, he felt as if a pair of eyes were following him, like a ghost haunting his back. This eerie feeling persisted until he turned a corner and it finally vanished.

With the feeling gone, Qiu Tu exhaled slowly. It was at this moment he noticed a change in the crisis countdown in the upper left corner of his vision.
