The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 371: 371: The Beautiful Reporter

Chapter 371: The Beautiful Reporter
“The police are also investigating this, but I don’t know if they’ve got any results,” Luo Ziling wasn’t sure if Lin Lan had gone to look into the matter in detail. Considering she had just returned from a mission, it was likely that she only heard about the incident from her comrades and might not be fully aware of the details, so he gave her a rough explanation.

“They won’t be able to find anything,” Lin Lan said indifferently.

Luo Ziling nodded, believing what Lin Lan said, as Ling Ruonan had said the same.

Luo Ziling told Lin Lan not to move, and he fed her.

At first, Lin Lan felt a little embarrassed, but in the end, she didn’t refuse Luo Ziling’s kindness.

She turned her face away and slightly lifted her head to accept the food Luo Ziling fed her.

Only then did Luo Ziling see that Lin Lan had some injuries on her arm and shoulder blade area, but they were just superficial wounds that had scabbed over.

“Can you tell me what you were doing there?” Luo Ziling couldn’t restrain his curiosity and asked in a low voice, afraid that Lin Lan would get annoyed, he quickly added, “If it’s not convenient to say, then don’t say it.”

So, Lin Lan really didn’t say anything.

This made Luo Ziling very frustrated.

This woman, she’s really obedient!

But taking into account that Lin Lan had just said she would investigate the assassination attempt for him, Luo Ziling decided not to mind Lin Lan’s rudeness.

Checking the time, it was almost half-past ten, Luo Ziling stood up, ready to leave.

“I should go back now. You guys sleep here tonight. Try to move as little as possible, especially Falcon,” Luo Ziling instructed, pointing to the room inside, “You shouldn’t make any large movements for at least twenty-four hours, so as not to affect the wounds. If you need to change places, you should wait at least two days, by then the wounds should have mostly healed without issue.”

Lin Lan nodded, indicating she understood.

“Tomorrow morning, I’ll bring breakfast for you guys, still xiaolongbao and wontons, I’ll buy extra,” Luo Ziling said and stood up, “I’ll head back now, and you should go to sleep.”

After thinking for a moment, he asked, “Do you need me to help you to the bathroom to wash up?”

Lin Lan shook her head, “You go back, it’s getting late.”

Luo Ziling turned around with a smile, opened the door, and left.

What he didn’t expect was that after he left, Lin Lan gazed at the door for a long while, lost in thought, her eyes brimming with tenderness.

The next day, when Luo Ziling brought breakfast over, Lin Lan was still sleeping.

But when he used the keycard to open the door, Lin Lan had already jumped to the doorway, startling him.

“What are you doing?” Luo Ziling gave her a strange look, “Did you think I was the assassin?”

Lin Lan didn’t respond, just gave him an apologetic glance, then returned to the sofa, not lying down but leaning against it.

“Did you sleep here last night?” Luo Ziling asked curiously, “Isn’t there another bed inside?”

“It’s fine,” Lin Lan took the bag from Luo Ziling’s hand, got herself some chopsticks, and started eating.

Luo Ziling hadn’t had breakfast yet. After checking Falcon’s wounds to ensure nothing was wrong, he sat down and started to eat with Lin Lan.

“If there’s nothing else, you don’t need to come over,” Lin Lan said softly while they were eating. Seeing Luo Ziling’s gaze turn a bit strange, she added another sentence, “I will contact you if there is anything.”

“Alright,” Luo Ziling agreed readily.

He asked again, “You should be able to rest for a while after completing this task, right?”

Lin Lan nodded.

“It’s been several days since I last went to treat my senior. However, his injuries don’t require daily treatment now; probably once a week is enough. Being too anxious can cause adverse reactions,” said Luo Ziling, smiling. “In a few more days, you’ll be almost recovered. Then you can come to pick me up, and I’ll continue the treatment for my senior.”

“Okay,” Lin Lan nodded again, “I will contact you then!”

Lin Lan also smiled, turned around, and left.

“Thank you!” Lin Lan’s voice of gratitude came from behind.

Luo Ziling was startled for a moment and did not turn around but simply opened the door and walked out.

When Luo Ziling returned to the dormitory, the other three guys had just woken up.

Seeing Luo Ziling coming in from outside, Cao Jianhui, who was still fighting with the warm bed, asked in confusion, “So early, did you go out for morning exercise again?”

Luo Ziling couldn’t be bothered to explain and simply nodded in agreement. He even advised Cao Jianhui, “The weather is cool; you can get up for morning exercise.”

“I better not; what’s more comfortable than sleeping in?” said Cao Jianhui as he suddenly sat up in bed. “Boss, did you encounter any beauties while exercising? If there are many beauties, I might consider it.”

“Not planning to pursue Lin Lin anymore?” asked Li Fuming, poking his head down, curious.

“Aren’t these two different things?” Cao Jianhui answered seriously. “Before things become clear, I need to be prepared for several possibilities; otherwise, I’m the one who gets hurt.”

His words were met with collective derision from Li Fuming and Wu Longjiang, and Luo Ziling conveyed a similar sentiment.

Cao Jianhui didn’t care, jumped off the bed, and went to the bathroom wearing only a pair of boxers.

Luo Ziling had already eaten breakfast, which made the other three guys quite resentful, blaming Luo Ziling for lacking a “big picture” mindset and not calling them for something as important as breakfast.

Luo Ziling just smiled and didn’t mind, heading to the classroom first.

The first class was Marxism-Leninism, taught by He Yongping. His lecture was still fascinating, and everyone listened attentively.

But just as the first class was about to end, a group of people arrived outside the classroom. Upon seeing a vice chancellor and the head of the Clinical Medicine department come over, He Yongping quickly apologized to the students and went outside. After a while, he came back in and called Luo Ziling to stand up, “Ziling, the principal and the department head are looking for you, please step outside for a moment.”

Luo Ziling couldn’t think of how it was related to him and felt a bit surprised, but he obediently stood up and walked out.

In the corridor outside, there was a group of people, even carrying a camera.

This scene left Luo Ziling a bit confused, not knowing what they wanted from him!

At that moment, a man with few hairs on his head, about in his fifties or sixties, approached Luo Ziling and said, “Are you Ziling? The radio station’s reporters would like to interview you.”

“Huh?!” Luo Ziling was taken aback once again. Cao Jianhui had mentioned reporters wanting to interview him before, but he didn’t expect that they would actually come.

Then, a tall and breathtakingly beautiful young woman emerged from the crowd.

She walked up to Luo Ziling, extended her hand, and introduced herself, “Hello, Ziling. I’m Chen Xiaoyi, a reporter from Yanjing TV Channel One. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Our station reported a few days ago on the news of you lending a helping hand to save someone in the Yintai Building, and today we’d like to interview you as the person involved. Don’t be nervous; we can just chat casually like friends.”

This woman named Chen Xiaoyi was very beautiful, with a tall figure and an ethereal charm. More importantly, she seemed very mature, spoke with ease, and her eyes were constantly on you, making you feel warm.

Luo Ziling took an immediate liking to this pretty female reporter.
