Chapter 399 Whatever The Cost.
"Are you okay, Sovereign Vestic?" Xie asked, looking at Sol strangely while he stared off into space, twitching and trembling.
Sol's hair; a bright gold, began to slowly turn into crimson, his forehead started bleeding when two smooth black horns began protruding from his flesh, curving upwards while Xie watched in fascination as the previously calm man underwent what was clearly demonification.
"I am fine, Xie... but there is an entire dimension of Fae and a Grand Fae as powerful as a Heavenly Ancestor that need to be slaughtered before we hurry back to my home, are you confident in your ability to Kill the Grand Fae?" Sol asked, glancing over his shoulder at his new subordinate.
"Of course, it took several Heavenly Ancestors to subdue me before, a single master is no threat."
"Good," Sol nodded.
"Do not leave a single one of them alive, I have been wronged, my people have been wronged, and I want their blood."
"Understood, I will fulfill this act of wickedness with thorough delight My Liege," Xie began cackling when Sol violently vanished from before him. "Hm," He smiled, making a long sigh and flexing his fingers. "If my master is this kind of person, I look forward to an astounding future."
"A man that is both Godslayer and Demon at the same time, holding within him a fragment of the first Light while also bound to the soul of another even larger fragment of the first Light."
Xie disappeared, emerging at Sol's side once more with his eyes slowly widening in understanding when he found his new master holding a half naked and crying black-haired dragonkin woman onto himself while his other hand was occupied holding an impaled Fae Chieftain, driven through his chest, tearing out and crushing his heart in the process. "I see."
"Kill them all, every last one." Sol ordered the man as soon as he arrived and stood firmly on sacred Fae ground.
"As you command." Xie's smile had been erased in the presence of Sol's anguish as he held on to Yu, cradling her head against his chest to comfort her.
When the man who called himself the Raven left once more and the first tremor went off, Sol flashed the dead chieftain off his hand and turned to Yu, kneeling with her and resting his hand on her forehead.
"What tool you so long?" She asked. "holding his shirt tightly and burying her face against him. "Had you been just a few minutes later, then I would have..." She shook her head, trying to bury the thught as Sol ran his hand through her hair.
"So, he didn't touch you?" Sol asked, releasing a long sigh of relief when she shook her head.
He quickly took off the first layer of his robes and draped them over her shoulder, and then stood, turning away from her when she began wrapping herself.
"I was not defiled, not directly, but I was beaten for resisting him, and..."
"And?" Sol asked. "Be clear, tell me what happened, tell me every detail even if it makes you want to hurl blood." He clenched his fists, staring at the corpse on the broken bed.
"He spent the night torturing and forcing me to drink aphrodisiacal drugs, I resisted as best I could, but I was... I spent the..." She bit her lips and stared at her feet, hugging the robe to herself. "I was humiliated, Master," Yu began sinking to the ground, but Sol caught her a second time.
It was only then that she saw his true appearance, his horns and the shade of his eyes and hair.
"I'm sorry, Yu, usually I would be able to come up with an excuse, but I failed you, I failed to keep my word, and what's more, I have long overstayed this visit."
"What is this appearance?"
"Wrath." Sol answered, snapping his fingers and summoning Grecia along with Fuhua, both still in deplorable condition unlike Yu who had been cleaned. "When we return home today, there will be nothing left of the Grand Fae Dimension," Sol declared when he saw the state they were both in.
"Master," Fuhua stood motionless, staring at Sol's altered appearance as she tried remembering what it was supposed to be.
"Jena-"
"She will return," Sol looked at Grecia, cutting her off before she could finish speaking. "We don't have the time for any of this." He bit into his lip and pushed Yu towards them while all three saw a system window for the first time in a year.
[The system Consciousness; JENA is in the middle of rebooting, all functions have otherwise been restored].
"I'll return to the Grand today without delay, three of you rest in the meantime." Sol waved his hand before them and all three vanished, revealing an old Fae woman standing by the entrance of the large room.
It was the same old Fae who had pushed for the death of Jena, and as soon as Sol laid eyes on her he was notified of the occurence, since she was offline but still active, Jena's backup recognised her.
[This is the woman responsible for the death of Jena's physical form].
"You."
"Who are you?" The Fae woman asked. "Where did you come from, demon?!" She raised her hands, summoning a bright green mana phantasm around each hand as she prepared to face him. "What did you do with the prisoners-"
"I am Sol Vestic," Sol answered, and watched as the woman's eyes widened even more, and her lips part in horror when she recalled all the times that Grecia, Jena and Yu had called his name, declaring his arrival and the destruction that would follow him.
"You, are Karina, an elder here, supposedly someone of my strength, right?" Sol asked, staring at her status with his eyes crimson and his grown out hair floating weightlessly around his head.
"You tortured my disciple, you starved my elder sister, and you tried to force them to become breeders for your filthy race of savages," Sol continued to speak, walking towards her while his mana slowly eroded the ground around him, one step at a time, one breath at a time, the woman lost her will to fight, to move, and before he even touched her, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she fell over, dead.
"Analysis complete," Sol heard Jena's voice in his head. "Uncle, we must hurry home, too much time has passed, we have no idea the state that the Grand Collective has fallen into, nor do we know what Umbra and Giza have been doing, but most importantly-"
"Ikaris and everyone else." Sol answered, running his finger avross the base of his horn and then looking outside where he witnessed several galaxies get enveliped in grey mana and die simultaneously. "I found the master I sought, someone beyond my wildest expections, bound to me by the soul, Xie Tsung."
"Where have you been?" She asked while Sol raised his hand and pushed the wall down floating outward like a malevolent god across the burning hellscape full of Fae people beneath him, drawing their attention. "I never imagined you would take this long to arrive, Ling, Yu and Grecia were very nearly taken-"
"I was trapped in The Grey, the timelessness of that place sent my consciousness to the past while my body remained here in the future, I thought that only a few weeks had passed, Jena, I'm sorry for what happened to you." He began spreading his hands.
"You do not need to apologise, rather than search after you disappeared we made the decision to continue our search for the Grand Fae Elder, everything that happened is a result of our actions, you are not to blame." She retorted, finally appearing at his side. "What will you do to these people?"
"Xie Tsung," Sol casually spoke, using the amplificatio of the system through his mana tethered to the man to reach him drom half a unit away. "Stand down, I will wrap this up myself." He ordered, and a few seconds later the man appeared at his side with his head lowered.
"You have the means to end an entire Unit in one fell swoop, even here in Source, Sovereign?" Xie seemed intrigued and overly excited about what Sol could be intending to do while in this state of dormant rage on the cusp of exploding.
"Yes, since freeing you I have wondered what I need to do to balance my mana, I thought about the possibility of expelling it all in one great explosion, but I have since come to a different conclusion." Sol stared at the world beneath him, and at their sacred tree that Xie had severed upon arrival.
"I have no Idea what Umbra and Giza have been up to, or how strong my alter ego has become after a year of consuming universes, so I will devour everything, this..." Sol seemed hesitant for a second. "I had sworn never to do things this way again, but my heart is burning!" He suddenly exclaimed.
Sol slammed his hands against his chest and sunk his fingers into his flesh, tearing his ribcage open and revealing the golden divine tree within him with one side vastly larger than the other, it was bent and in pain.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
[Unique Skill: Gluttony]
"Master-"
"I will erase this entire universe from source and turn them into nourishment, feed them to the tree and then leave."
"The Godslayer returned from the past with an altered mind..." Xie commented, seeing a sole branch of the tree burst from Sol's chest like a tsunami, bedding itself into the ground and killing everything instantly as it absorbed the surrounding mana, taking it directly into the central universe, Origin and enriching it.
"My ancestor was kind enough to depart a few words of wisdom," Sol sneered, watching the golden tree branch off into millions of other branches avter piercing thr other side of the world beneath them, spreading towards every other source of light and life within the Grand Fae Dimension.
"Even if I become the devil himself, Ikaris must always remain Ikaris, I will return to my wife, whatever the cost, even if it means I become the enemy I seek to destroy!"
