Chapter 65 Mariana Beach
"Chris! You are just on time!"
Chris slammed the door of his new black colored Horshe, its sleek design glistering in the sunlight. And he turned his body around only to hear a cute feminine girl call out to him.
"Hey, Layla." Chris smiled and turned towards the cute girl who was dressed in a cute blue sundress that accentuated her beautiful curves.
"Well! You know the plan, right!! You better not pass out again!" she greeted cheerfully, leading him towards the rest of the crowd that stood on the university premises with no care for the uniform scheme whatsoever.
Chris himself stood among them wearing some comfortable casual clothes. Actually, it wasn't just him but the whole group was wearing casual clothes that totally didn't seem like the types one would wear to a university.
Dressed in a colorful shirt with comfortable shorts, and a pair of black sunglasses on his face, he seemed like a handsome traveler who had come to a beach rather than a student who had come to study.
Alas, as they say, college was supposed to be the most fun part of life. Chris didn't know that by 'fun' they meant bunking the classes daily and not studying a bit… but, did he care? Nope.
Enjoying the current company of beautiful youngsters of his age, he shrugged off the guilt and opened the door of his Horshe which he was driving for the first time! Well, technically second because he drove it to the university too…
After receiving the memories of Alfred, driving was as easy as breathing for Chris. So why would he allow his handsome chauffeur to take the fun of driving a racecar away from him?
"Hmm~ you are alone? I am hopping in! Hope you don't mind." Layla giggled and sat in Chris's car with a smile.
"Why would I mind a pretty girl like you in my car?" Chris winked playfully and fired up the engine, keeping his hands on the steering wheel and then looking at the rear camera in the car.
"Oh, you flirt." Layla chuckled, not minding his playful teases, she looked over at the other speeding cars instead.
Since the plan of visiting one of the most famous tourist spots of SeaShell city was already fixed, all of them knew where to go and the cars quickly sped away from the university.
One might say why did they even meet in university in the first place, they could have just met somewhere outside and avoided angering the elders of uni.
But, Chris was just overthinking things. No one stopped their cars and also there was another reason to come to university other than showing off. It was that many students of their group lived in the dorms.
"So, yesterday what happened? Are you alright?" Layla broke the silence with a worried question.
"Ah, it was just a minor attack. It has happened to me before too." Chris shrugged carelessly as if he hadn't just nearly lost his life yesterday. But, he wasn't wrong as the first time he had used the auto-clicker and also the time he awakened, both can be considered one such tragedy as yesterday.
"Minor?! You nearly died! Your heart had stopped beating for so many minutes!" Layla banged the handrail of his car and shouted.
"Shh, calm down, I am fine, ain't I?" Chris patted her using his free hand and chuckled, "Don't worry you scaredy cat."
"Shut up…" Layla looked away and murmured, "By the way, how do you know Claire and Ling?? They seemed to know you. Claire even has a nice nickname for you!"
"I had an accident on the road. They were with the ambulance," Chris shrugged, "Also… don't you dare use that nickname!"
"Oh~ so it's only for Claire? How romantic~" Layla poked Chris's cheeks with a suggestive grin on her face.
"No. It's not allowed for her either!" Chris slapped away her hands and quickly changed the topic, "And, we have reached Mariana Beach, get out."
"What get out? Let's go! This is the first time you will be here, right!?" Layla grinned and pulled the car's handbrakes, quickly opening the door while shouting excitedly.
'Yeah,' Chris thought as he got out of the car himself, taking in the cool windy breeze that made his loosely buttoned shirt flap in the air while his hair swung uncontrollably.
Layla's cute sundress also flapped against the wind as she pressed her one hand on her cute cream-colored hat, her other hand grabbing Chris's as she led him towards the rest of the students excitedly.
With a chuckle, Chris allowed himself to be pulled by her and soon reached the rest of the nearly two dozen students! It seems the crowd was much greater this time!
"Oh? Little girl, you are still alive?" Claire, who was dressed in one sexy pink-colored one-piece swimsuit, giggled playfully.
"Disappointed?" Chris smirked and gave her a look before turning his head towards Estea who was also dressed in a matching sundress like Layla, only that hers was pink rather than blue.
But, with Estea's sexy figure, she looked completely different from Layla, even though they were wearing quite similar clothes.
"Nice matching clothes," Chris gave a short compliment to Layla's and Estea's matching dresses, earning a sweet smile from the both.
"Hehe, we bought it together, they were a pair so we took one each!" Estea smiled brightly.
"It looks great on you both."
After the short praise, Chris turned to look at the rest of the people. There were quite a few that he didn't recognize and were looking at him with hostile looks in their eyes.
Chris looked at the crowd closely, realizing that they weren't really united, rather, they were fragmented into different groups.
One was some cold, indifferent people that stood little apart from the rest as if whatever was going on didn't matter to them.
Sierra was, as expected, a part of this small group.
The other group, was a much bigger one, an elitist second-generation group that eyed nearly everyone with their eyes as if they were superior to them all.
At the front, stood Ralph with his red hair flapping in the wind with another man near him that had orange hair and a beard as he stood with his arms crossed.
Lucky, Ralph, that orange guy, and many more were a part of this elitist group.
While the rest remaining were neutral. Not belonging to the extremes of any group while also possessing some characteristics of both.
Chris however, was currently not a part of any as he looked at their piercing stares all over him.
Not getting fazed by their looks, he shrugged and turned to Layla,
"Well, I thought you were going to show me around."
"Of course! So, what do you want to see first?? The beach? Or the restaurants? Bar? Or Taylor's beach house?" she turned towards him and asked excitedly.
"Taylor?"
"Ah, you don't know him. He is Taylor! He got a nice beach house here!" Layla pointed at orange haired man excitedly.
'Strong.'
Chris and Taylor locked eyes with Taylor still looking at him with his indifferent and elitist eyes. Just by a look, Chris knew that he wasn't really a match for this orange-haired handsome man, since Taylor didn't even bother to hide the immense energy he held within him.
With a nod of greeting, Chris waited for a similar word of greeting from Taylor, but as expected, the superior bastard was way too proud to greet him back.
Thus, ignoring the overconfident buffoon, Chris looked back at Layla. "Let's have a nice drink first while looking around and then join the rest?"
"Great! I will let you taste my favorite one! Esti, Tommy, Claire, you guys are coming?"
"Nah, we don't want to interfere with your date~" Claire giggled playfully at Layla's invitation.
"You!!" Layla blushed, averting her gaze from the playful sadistic nurse as she turned towards Tom and Estea.
But, both of them also rejected the offer as well, following Claire's playful teases. Thus, both of them were left alone!
'Should I tell them about Aria?' Chris wondered in his mind as he heard the teases about Layla and he was going on a date. But, as playful and weird as he became after meeting Max, there was no doubt that he loved Aria a lot and cheating, well, he never even thought of it.
Still, he decided to hide the fact that he had a girlfriend and decided to simply enjoy his time here instead.
Finally, after roaming around for nearly half an hour and drinking some insanely addictive and intoxicating cocktails, Chris and Layla returned back to the group to see many people resting sideways near the volleyball net as Claire and some other students stood in the court.
'Beach Volley?'
