The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 237 - 237 It’s More Convenient

237 It’s More Convenient

The sun had set and the night wind was relatively cold.

They finally reached the wall and looked at the soldiers nearby. It seemed that it wouldn’t’ be possible for them to climb up without authorization. After all, the wall was highly important in this kind of times.

Though, watching these things just made Kate thought of the ancient cities where the wall was purposely built so high to prevent others from coming in.

“I guess we can’t go up there without using some special means.” Kyle sighed and glanced to the back. City H still has some electricity, probably from the generator that was located within the city. There were still surveillances around the city, monitoring everyone who were inside.

“I guess it means I can’t turn back into a cat now.” Kate laughed. With the space barrier around them, she had no qualms talking about the fact that she used to be a cat. Anyway, it was not a secret between her and Kyle.

Kyle chuckled. “You seem to like being a cat so much.”

“It’s more convenient.” Kate shrugged.

It was only after being a human again that Kate realized how convenient it was being a cat sometimes. People would never put up their guard around a cat and would inevitably showed their true nature around her.

After all, who would have thought that a cat was actually a human being?

.....

No one would think that way.

Many people only think of Kate as nothing more than an ordinary cat belonged to Kyle and whenever Kyle was not paying attention, they would show their true nature. This made Kate realized that being a cat was actually really good for spies.

They could see the true nature of many people without the need to worry about exposing themselves.

Not that this method was replicable though.

The first perquisite would be for them to turn into a cat, which was basically impossible in normal times.

And after being a human again, Kate realized that there were actually a lot of people who would be watching her. It was not exactly comfortable, but as someone who admitted being a rank 6 healer, it was obvious that people would pay her more attention because of her ability.

She was not exactly a person who liked attention.

There were many times when she just wanted to hide and avoid their eyes because she felt uncomfortable.

Kyle looked at Kate and arched his eyebrows. “Then go back with me after this matter is over.”

“I will.” Kate nodded and smiled slightly.

For her, staying with Kyle seemed to be the best option available. She felt most comfortable staying with him and being able to snuggle again.

It was not like she didn’t like being a human being. But when she was outside, she felt that being a cat was actually more comfortable. When they were back to the base, she would rather be a human, though.

She wanted to see her parents again and talked with them as herself.

No longer as a little kid who didn’t seem to be able to grow up again.

“No more hesitation.”

“No! I just think that if I appear with you here, people will start to question it.” Kate pouted. It was not like she wanted to stay away with Kyle so badly, but she wanted to try how it would be if she were to travel around.

And she had to admit…

Habits were really scary.

After being so used to be around Kyle, Kate realized that she was actually dependent on Kyle on many things. In the past, she knew very well that she was also dependent on her parents.

After all, she was still a student and only cared about her study.

About other matters such as tax, bills, and so on, it was handed to her parents because they were the ones who were busy taking care of such matter.

“I don’t actually care that much about it.” Kyle shrugged. If those people dared to trouble him because of Kate’s presence, he would make sure that they would regret being alive in this world.

He didn’t care about those troubles.

There were already so many troubles he made over the years in the past. It was to the point that he was nearly put into jail or even executed because of some matters that was quite troublesome.

If not because his father asked him to tone down and sent to City A to become an ‘ordinary’ teacher in the university, the nation might not even want to let him go so easily. Kyle’s files were filled with things that were not good to be mentioned.

Now that he had become powerful, it was no longer easy to move him around if they wanted to. Kyle still had some confidence to settle them down through some methods if it was necessary.

“No, I don’t want to add more conflict.” Kate shook her head.

She didn’t like conflict with others if it was unnecessary, so she would rather figure out a way to avoid such things to happen in the first place. While it might be a bit more uncomfortable, Kate was used to it.

After all, lives were not that easy for ordinary person in the place where there were many powerful people around.

They had to learn how to back down and behave themselves appropriately to avoid more troubles that they couldn’t’ clean up in their lives.

“You’re too conservative.” Kyle glanced at Kate and sighed lightly.

If it was just up to him, he would not care in the slightest bit. But Kate would want to reduce the possibility of them having more problems in the future.

Since that was the case, he could only step back.

“You’re too reckless.” Kate glared at Kyle in return.

Kyle laughed and didn’t refute that. More often than not, he would not even care about the consequences of his action. It often led to more problems in the future afterwards, which was quite annoying for him too.
