The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 174 - 174 Discussion

174 Discussion

“Are there anything else that had to be done?” Jake asked. He just wished that this conversation could be over quickly because he needed to build another room for himself.

He felt really miserable right now.

After this, he had to drag Marc so that Marc could help him building another room for him to stay for the night.

He definitely didn’t want to sleep on the corridor.

That wouldn’t be nice.

Dylan thought of something and nodded. “I might leave for a while in two days.”

“Huh? Is there any problems?” The others quickly turned their head to look at Dylan. It was rare for Dylan to speak a lot of words to others.

“Family meeting.” Dylan furrowed his eyebrows.

He didn’t like those meetings, but because they had finally gathered together, his parents wanted to have meeting with the other distant relatives. The communication line was going to be built quickly and after that, his parents would be asking for permission to use it first along with many others who were also quite rich and influential.

.....

There were several things that they had to settle in the matter that was related to their family members.

It was a bit annoying.

Dylan had never liked these things ever since a long time ago.

Jake recalled Dylan’s family and nodded his head. “I see. Then I guess we can just ask to not assign more work for you for the time being.”

Recalling Dylan’s annoying cousins, Jake could only sigh. In Dylan’s family, he only has good impression of Dylan’s immediate family members and also his brother in law. The other family members who were of distant relatives seemed to be quite annoying and hard to interact with.

In any case, Jake didn’t like playing with them when he was young.

And now that he had grown up, he just didn’t want to interact more with them.

“If you need anything, you can tell us.” Kyle thought of Dylan’s other family members and narrowed his eyes.

Because of Dylan’s family big business, the other branch family members were all trying to get a portion of the pie. They didn’t want to work hard but they wanted the benefit, which was why the relationship among the younger generations were strained.

Added with the fact that Dylan himself didn’t want to inherit his family’s business, it was clear that those people might even want to take advantage of this situation.

The world had changed.

But Dylan’s family was still a big and prosperous family. They had their own way to gather forces, food, and many others. It was to the point that even if the situation was like this, they were still a powerful group.

But the group was not completely united.

Kyle knew that very well and Dylan hated getting involved with those people. Without his sister holding the fort and currently being the ‘successor’ of the group, those people had tone down a bit.

Though, it was estimated that because the world had changed, they had other ideas in this regards.

“I know.” Dylan nodded.

He didn’t like his cousins, but he didn’t need others to help in this matter. If those people dared to cross his bottom line, he wouldn’t be polite.

Now that things had come to this, he didn’t want to bother maintaining the face that he had kept up all these years. What he wanted was simply to settle them all for once and for all.

After all, there was truly no point for him to maintain this good relationship when all they wanted was to take advantage of him.

It just didn’t make any sense.

They eventually only talked a bit more before Kyle stood up.

“Where are you going now, Kyle?” Jake asked.

“Pick up Little Kitty and then sleep.” Kyle glanced at the others and arched his eyebrows. “Are you not tired?”

They were speechless.

Of course they were tired! After busy helping the others all around the city this morning, they returned only to absorb the gem. And when they had finished absorbing the gem, Kyle just dragged them to discuss about what their planning would be.

Though, they could see that Kyle was planning for them to stay in City E for an extended period of time.

“Right, I didn’t see Little Kitty all this time. Where did you put her?” Lotte asked curiously.

“She’s playing.” Kyle shrugged, sounded a bit helpless.

The others were staring at him suspiciously but didn’t pester him. Only Dylan was still looking in Kyle’s direction for a while longer but then eventually retracted his gaze. In any case, he would never dare to interfere too deeply in other people’s private matters.

It was only if Kyle were to tell him more than Dylan will say something. But in most cases, he would not do anything.

Kyle walked out of the room and the others also returned to their respective room. Only Jake felt that his luck was really bad. His room was practically the only without any furniture because it was changed to the training room temporarily.

Jake could only run to his girlfriend room and borrowed a blanket after being scolded.

Knock! Knock!

Kyle knocked on the lab and waited for Kate’s Father to open the door. Kate’s Father looked at Kyle and then said, “Kate is sleeping. Let her sleep here with her mother today.”

Kyle arched his eyebrows, darkness brewing within his eyes. He took a deep breath and then replied, “Just today.”

“Yes, just today.” Kate’s Father looked at Kyle solemnly.

Kyle looked at the direction where the small room was located but didn’t press forward. He turned around and walked away, looking as indifferent and composed as ever. Only his clenched fist told others that he was not as calm as he showed on the surface.

At that moment, he really wanted to pull Kate back to him so that she would not stay far away from him. But in the end, Kyle restrained his impulse and walked away without saying anything more.
