Chapter 145 – Who was it that said Zhang Xiying would have the role of the third female lead? (2)
Strawberry milk: White Rich and Pretty is busy making money. She really doesn’t have time to pull stunts and mess with someone else [crying-so-hard-I-am-tearing-up.jpg]
Hui Yang1: Truth be told, at Lin Yiyi’s level, even the film emperor is beneath her; let alone someone like Zhang Xiying. Why would she even care to mess with her?
Little Monster: Lin Yiyi has been too popular lately. Everyone wanted to scam her.
Even Lu Xun posted this newest message on his Weibo: Nowadays, even scammers pick Mercedes, BMW, or Porsche. Have you ever seen anyone trying to scam a Xiali or BYD? Actually, there is a simple solution when you are scammed – call the cops.
And, while I am at it, @Lin Yiyi and others in the circle
While he was looking at the blowing_kiss.jpg from Lin Yiyi triumphantly, Executive Assistant Zhou, who felt that his face was hurting just from watching him, said to him awkwardly in a low voice, “Emmm, Boss…”
“Yeah?”
Lu Xun was having too much fun posting on Weibo to pay him any attention.
Especially after he saw all the others reposting his post.
Now that all the major players of the entertainment circle had spoken up, he trusted that there was not much that Zhang Xiying could do from this point forward.
Not to mention that the role-swapping incident also took a stab at Yao Yimeng.
Yao Yimeng’s father was the boss who founded Yuan Yao Media single-handedly.
“Manager Xiang just called from an internal line and wanted to speak to you about something…”
When Executive Assistant Zhou saw Lu Xun looked up at him with his fingers still prepared to keep on typing on his phone, he quickly carried on, “It was about the incident of swapping out Zhang Xiying.”
Lu Xun frowned and said, “What’s there to talk about?”
That being said, he let her into his office anyway.
Xiang Liuyue was quite nervous as well.
This incident, should they fail to handle it delicately, could negatively impact the image of their company.
Under the boss’s stare, even the usually strong career woman such as Xiang Liuyue had to pretend that she was but a quail who just wanted to hide her head in her feathers.
But…
NO!
“This is a somewhat complicated issue.”
Jiang Liuyue took a deep breath and started slowly. “When our department met with Zhang Xiying, it was our intention to have her participating in the movie, though not so much playing an important role of the third female lead. Our intention was to have her guest star a supporting character role and all she needed to do is to show her face.”
Lu Xun raised his brows and had her carried on.
“Zhang Xiying has her eyes set on the third female lead role, but that role had already been predetermined before Yuan Yao has even invested into the movie. It was just never announced. Think of it as a form of protection for Yao Yimeng as well.”
Xiang Liuyue shook her head and carried on. “Truth was, for Zhang Xiying to be able to meet up with our Investment and Production Department, she had pulled all the strings that she had as well. Director Lu Sen was also present at the time. It so happened that Executive Assistant Zhou came over right then and there and turned Zhang Xiying down. The truth was we all felt relieved at the time.”
Lu Xun looked over at Executive Assistant Zhou.
Executive Assistant Zhou quickly took the opportunity and added, “Boss, have you forgotten? You look a look at Zhang Xiying and said you don’t think she’ll be a good fit for the role as well.”
How could he possibly remember something so tedious?
Irritated, Lu Xun said, “If we never signed a contract, never decided on the role, and never even have a verbal agreement, how is this role-swapping? Plus, when was this pre-determined by Yuan Yao? How come I wasn’t aware of it?”
That all depended on the conversation between Yuan Yao and Lu Sen.
Xiang Liuyue looked down at her feet and said, “But boss, you didn’t object to Yao Yimeng playing the role of third female lead either.”
Lu Xun, “……”
That was because Lin Yiyi had declined the role.
Who was it that said Zhang Xiying would have the role of the third female lead?
Considering all the trouble that it has caused!
This entire incident, by now, was starting to feel complicated.
It was incorrect to call the incident “role-swapping”. After all, Zhang Xiying never even signed a contract. But, stringing it together with all the other events, all of a sudden it sounded like she was in the right…
Problem was, Lin Yiyi and Yao Yimeng were dragged into it.
After she had laid it all out, Xiang Liuyue dared not stay any longer than she needed to. She left quietly under the signal from Executive Assistant Zhou.
The office went back to its original silence after her departure.
Lu Xun pinched his brows and said, “I will make a trip to Xinri. And, schedule a meeting with Yuan Yao for me.”
