The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 247: 247:Enemies Unit

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the bustling city of Bombay, a group of individuals gathered in a lavish penthouse atop one of the tallest skyscrapers in the city.

The atmosphere inside the opulent suite stood in sharp contrast to the breathtaking scenery outside.

At the center of the room, a long, polished mahogany table was set with an exquisite spread of gourmet food and fine wines. The aroma of freshly prepared delicacies filled the air, while waitstaff glided silently in the background, ensuring that the guests were well attended. As the guests settled into their seats, an air of anticipation grew within the room.

Among the attendees, a couple had their gaze fixated on two people seated across them, accompanied by his brother-in-law.

"Everyone, we are finally here to talk about the most important thing," Noah began, his eyes landing on Sonalia and her brother Jagesh who wore a frightening expression.

The gentleness that once defined Jagesh's face had long vanished, replaced by deep-rooted agony. The loss wasn't just monetary, rather it was a slap on his face.

A slap to his pride that he was determined to take revenge for. He needed to destroy the man responsible. Despite scant evidence, Vishal was certain that it was Evan, who was behind all of this and strongly advocated this belief.

Initially, Jagesh thought of leveraging government power to push Evan into a corner, but Vishal pointed out that it was troublesome since Evan had heavily contributed to the government, paid taxes and made huge donations to the political parties.

Also, he was also the one responsible for keeping Indra's infrastructure on par with that of other nations and with his presence, Indra had finally cut down the external interference. A full-blown public fight was detrimental as it would attract international support for  Evan, and he might turn against Indra, leading to catastrophic consequences.

So all they could do was resort to covert attacks, but…

The mercenaries they hired were blocked by external interference. Those who managed to reach the Nicobar Islands never returned to tell the tale, so he now had to try other options.

Sonalia leaned forward, her fingers resting under her chin. "We have to remove the bone stuck in our throat. We all know that Evan is becoming a significant threat to our operations."

After the initial declaration, Noah took the lead in briefing them on the situation and then glanced at Richard and then at the other man, who gave a brief nod.

"I see… So, Suri initially supported Evan, and now that little prick is helping her with technology," the man remarked.

"Yes, Mr Paul!" Noah affirmed.

Pausing a bit, the man named Paul stared at Noah and then burst into laughter.

After having laughed to his heart's content, Paul sneered, "Are you kidding me? I have gone with the information you have provided, in all honesty, this looks like a prank. You are telling me that he is some big shot you all should be scared of? It's not as if he has Terminator-style AI robots coming after us." Explore stories at m,v l'e-NovelBin.net

Paul had come because Richard mentioned that there was an opportunity to take down Suri, but they needed to trap her to lead someone to them.

"This isn't a joke," Jagesh interrupted, his eyes grim.

"Have you heard about the massive crash and turnover that occurred on 4th June?"

"Yeah, I heard. It affected others as well. You fucked up pretty badly, didn't you?" Paul mocked.

A thick vein bulged on Jagesh's forehead making him want to punch this guy, but he resisted the urge to punch the guy in the face.

"It wasn't us. It is because that guy, Evan, had a hand in it," Jagesh replied coldly.

Paul's hands froze at his words. Giving them a skeptical glance, he asked, "Are you being serious?"

"We don't dare joke about this. That man may seem pretty harmless, but he is far from it," Noah replied.

As the conversation intensified, Noah leaned closer to the table, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of ambition and desperation. "We have to make Suri fall into our trap. If we play our cards right, we can draw Evan out into the open. Once we have her, we can use her as bait."

Sonalia's gaze was steady and determined. "We're not just talking about defeating her; it's about eliminating her completely. She's the only thing standing in our way. Once she is gone, Evan will be vulnerable, and we can finish him off."

Paul crossed his arms, a skeptical look etched on his face. "It's not that simple, is it?" He then turned to Richard, who had been mostly silent. "You've been unusually quiet. What do you think?"

Richard finally spoke, his tone cautious. "I understand the desire to take her down, but we need to consider the consequences. Suri has a reputation, and the moment we make a move against her, it could backfire spectacularly. She's more than just an actress. She also had her own troops."

Jagesh nodded in agreement, his expression grave. "But we can't just sit by and do nothing. If we don't act, Evan will only grow stronger. He has already made it clear he won't back down, and neither will Suri. Our plan is simple: we don't kill Evan right away. First, we defeat Suri and kidnap her.

That will force Evan to come out, and then we can take him down together."

Richard furrowed his brow, weighing the options. "But will Evan even show up? He's not the type to just walk into a trap."

Noah snorted, a spark of confidence returning to his demeanor. "He will. I know him well. He has a soft spot for Suri, and he'll come running for her when he realizes she's in danger, he won't be able to resist. We'll make sure she's taken somewhere he can't ignore. It's all about making him believe he has a chance to save her."

Paul tapped his fingers against the table, lost in thought. "Hmm, but this won't be easy. You're putting a lot on this plan. Sure, we might have strong superhumans, but taking her down will attract attention. If she slips away and starts disregarding her social restraints, her reputation will implode. She will turn into a loose cannon and we might end up dealing with a rogue version of her.

She'll become a time bomb."

Sonalia shrugged, a sly smile playing on her face. "Then we just have to ensure that we don't give her the chance to go rogue. We'll keep everything contained. Once we have her, we can control the narrative. Evan will try to free her and we'll take down both of them without anyone catching on."

Richard sighed, still wary but beginning to see the potential in their plan. "You're playing a dangerous game. But if we do this, we need to be strategic. The moment anyone catches wind of our intentions, it could all fall apart. We can't afford any mistakes."

Noah exchanged glances with Jagesh and Sonalia, their expressions a mix of determination and shared understanding. "Then we prepare. We'll gather our resources, move carefully, and strike at the right moment. We take Suri down, and with her out of the way, Evan will fall right into our trap."

Soon, the discussion room became more somber as they started planning, each one having their own agenda.

Some wanted Suri to be gone, while some saw Evan as an eyesore. As for who would win, only time was going to tell.
